  1. I heard CBHS won 3-0 this morning. Andrew Aur had 2 of the goals
  2. Like I said, I don't know a lot about all the other schools. Obviously, the defending state champion is the team to beat. I think CBHS might put it together this year though.
  3. I think CBHS has the best shot. I don't know a great deal about all the D 2 teams in the state, but I can tell you that CBHS might have less overall talent this year, but their combination of players gives them the best team they have had in years. The past couple years CBHS has had a lot of players that wanted to be the star of stars. They would dominate play in Memphis and then just seem to come up a little short at state. ( missed PK, Keeper mistake, etc.etc.) This year's team has it's seniors on defense. Defensive players give up personnel stats for the good of the team. These guys are all very good players and great leaders. I think they can keep the individual egos in check and win the whole thing. Of course, I hope my son's team beats them, but it is unlikely. I will always hold out hope though.
  4. Paul Banks at CBHS is one of the best freshman in the state. CBHS has a great team, but he makes them special. He adds a different kind of threat to their team. He can dribble like most forwards, but he can also blow by you. He plays like a junior or senior with his combination of skill, speed and strength. CBHS does a great job of using the width of the field. They spread teams out and use their enormous amount of skilled club players to move the ball around. Paul helps them spread the field with length, something they have missed the last couple years. If you saw him at the Bearden tournament, he was pretty good, but remember the fields were a mess and he wasn't able to show off his speed. CBHS has about 80 club players try out for their soccer teams. He is the only freshman to make the varsity and he is starting. Of course, he is a freshman and as one will have off days. But, believe me, he will be exceptional.
