The defensive front makes this team go. While the middle lb is a head hunter, none of them are very fast. They will definitely "come across" the biggest, most physical D-Line they've seen all year...not to mention fast, head-hunting LB's. LONG night for the Cougars.

Here's what we've all been waiting for. The district championship is on the line. On paper both teams are almost dead even. It should be a great game. Thoughts / Predictions?
My paper says Centennial can throw a little and HC has not defended the pass. Maybe the front 4 of HC can really pressure the qb. Otherwise, may be a long road trip for the Pats.

I don't have the best view but looks like UC's dbs are doing a great job
I am not there and I guarantee that UC is playing man on the perimeter and spying the ab. If Dresden runs a divide or a crossing route, the middle will not look so open.
-
Terrible play call right before half might have saved the game for Dresden
Not even the refs can save this game for Dresden.
-
Dresden doesn't score here it's over
Already over. UC will probably score again before the half.
-
Going to get ugly.
-
Dresden has not scored yet? Bad news. UC will pour it on as the game progresses.

We're Alcoa. We do what we want.
You don't want to beat Maryville?
-
Yea I think he has 813 yards and 14 TD. I saw also he's only a few TD'S away from breaking the school record held by McElrath.
And McElrath did not even play his senior year.

Have you looked at their opponents? Swiss cheese comes to mind. Springfield is definitely the best team they will have to face so far! We'll have to see come Friday? You Na-Sayers put a score up and we'll see who's closest!
Dude!!! Really?

If Liberty, Ridgeway, and Rossville could not put 30+ points on the board, I find it very difficult to believe Springfield could accomplish that task. It is possible but unlikely. HC has a stout D line and arguably the best LB in the state. I am nervous about this game but also confident in how HC has been playing.
And that LB would be?

Beat Alcoa, talk about happy pills!
They are that good. Huntingdon will find that out tonight.

mustangs escape UC tonight with a 33-28 victory
Now this is funny! LMAO

It will be West from the East. Not sure about HC. Many of their issues are correctable. However, some are personnel issues and what appears to be HEART issues.
-
West wins this one by 10 to 17 pts.
HC will have to turn the ball over several times for West to beat them by 17 pts. Do not see that happening. However, if HC does not turn the ball over at all, they may well be the 17 pt. victors.

Just heard our bunch is 100% healthy and on go. If so, this will be one of only 3 or 4 games this year that I recall this to be the case. Anyone hear different?
All healthy.

I just don't see it being more than 7 point win for either team. This West team is better coached and much more disciplined than Northeast. I honestly believe this comes down to a 4th quarter mistake or penalty that decides the game.
If this game is 7 points or less, West will be winning the turnover stats. That could be a big problem for HC. If the Patriots protect the ball and play as focused as they did last Friday, it will be a very long night for West. Have seen them on film, and no, they are no where near as fast as East, nor are they as big. West does run the veer, and those small quick backs can pose a problem if HC is not focused on individual assignments on defense. I look for HC to be focused and begin to put this thing away by the middle of the third quarter. Just an educated guess. LOL I do not expect West to stay home. HC will have to show up.

I bet West is not the fastest team HC has played.
While West appears to have a little more speed than HC, they DO NOT have more than East. I would guess they are roughly even to Ridgeway or Northeast. Should be a good game.

If they (Rossview) make it to a next meeting, the beating will be sound with or without the comments. HC was up 20 to 0 in the first half. Sometimes when things come too easy early, focus is lost. And with the weather last Friday night, losing focus was not too difficult. Having seen Rossview in person, it is apparent that HC would have to play way down to lose to Rossview. Having said that, they are much improved and are a good team and should win several games by the end of the season.
Good luck to the Patriots tonight and to Rossview as well.

A friend from Gallatin told me tonight that Hurd is not practicing. Not sure if he is injured or not.
Really hope he is ok and able to play this Friday.

Track meet!

HC is very physical. Especially on defense. Offensively, they are solid on the ground. The passing game has improved, but needs to continue to get better if HC is going to contend for a title. Based on what I saw tonight, there if great potential for this team. Almost all of the mistakes made tonight are correctable with practice.

I don't disagree with you. Henry County is probably a pretty good team. However, they did not stop Hurd. If a team can stop Hurd they can beat Beech. They have an okay passing game because they have Hurd. If a team can devise a defense to stop Hurd and force Beech to pass i don't see them as being all that strong. Just my opinion. Beech's defense was pushed around by Cookeville. The Cavs had four turnovers and some not so great play calling in the red zone that kept them out of the end zone.
Anyone else notice those 2 ifs in this post?

FACT: So does MJ.
This is going to be an epic battle of two very good teams. Both teams are very well coached and have the athletes to compete at a high level. I trully believe that the winner wins the battle in the trenches. Can MJ or Beech control the line of scrimmage? We will know in 4 days. Cannot wait to see this one.
Fact: Two good teams.
Fact: One Hurd

This secondary gets the blame for weak pass coverage, but for those who understand pass coverage, the outside lbs deserve much of the criticism. Having said that, I feel they give all they can on each play and that counts for a lot. At some point, the game becomes a personnel issue and not a coaching issue. The Pats should fair well tonite.
