yea pujo he has put up mr. football like stats on not a whole lot of touches thus far.. credit the oline and blocking backs, they have obviously done an outstanding job as well. hampton could have two 1000 yard rushers this year (atkins and watters) for the first time since the 70's. if everyone continues to improve it could be a special year for the dawgs!

do you all think there is any chance that watters could be a finalist for mr. football by the end of the year.... lookin at his stats he should be considered imo.

I know what you mean about the 3-5 hour drive. We had to schedule Franklin Road and South Pitt, both 2-3 hour drives, this year they were at GCA, next year we travel there. Johnson County is a tough bunch, but they haven't been a factor for a few years. I was glad to see Sullivan East on the schedule, larger schools will test your kids and push the smaller schools to the limits to pull out a victory. You guys will benefit from this game. As always, and as much as I hate to pull for Hampton (just as bad as you guys hate to pull for GCA), I ALWAYS PULL FOR THE SMALL SCHOOLS WHEN THEY PLAY LARGER SCHOOLS. Go Dogs.

i will always pull for small schools when they play larger schools also.... unless it is a small private school. the large schools ain't the cheaters, the private schools are (more times than not).

unfortunately i gotta go with grace in this one... it's hard to beat a team who hand picks their players. on a side note why is grace ranked in any polls? they can't play in the playoffs, right??

Can someone please shed light on what is going around about a Grace Christian football player that was drug tested and tested positive, but was still playing this past Friday night against CAK? Is this a total rumor or is there any truth to this?? thanks..

i have no idea if it is true, but nothing would surprise me with that bunch.

same here king, i'd just like to see the boys get the recognition the deserve individually and more importantly as a team. they work just as hard as eliz. science hill and so on.

it is also pretty funny that ng is ranked on tricitiessports.com in the northeast tennessee top 10 and hampton is not. looks like everyone has completely forgotten about us.

I have no problem with articles by Chambers....you can tell he understands and watches the game...he has something to say besides just who scored!

i know what you're saying, chambers does a good job and actually takes a little pride in his work, i enjoy reading his articles. most of the other writers on the eliz. star's staff are either blowing smoke up elizabethton's rear end or just throwing something together that tells nothing about the game other than who won and who scored. hampton is lucky to have some difference makers that dont always score alot of points, but they are selfless and they know their role. the dogs would'nt have the record they do now without those guys on the team. good bunch of kids.

N. HUGHES from Hampton (A), He is the leader in total points scored so far this season in DISTRICT 1, that means all A,AA,AAA. That's pretty awesome he also leads with ppg,steals,free throws made and is 2nd with assist.

according to the johnson city press hughes is averaging something like 22 points 7 rebounds 5 assists and 3 steals per game this season, correct me if i'm wrong on that, i dont have the paper in front of me. he also put up some pretty impressive numbers in the arby's classic earlier this year against some very good teams.

just curious... is anyone covering hampton's games for the star?? i haven't seen any articles covering their games in the paper this year.

A buddy mine told me Donald Ensor could be in the mix for the head coaching position. I dont know how much stock I would put in that rumor. It would be a pretty good hire in my opinion, if he is willing to deal with all of the politics that takes place there.

i watched the interview with the pastor and i dont know if i fault him as much as the athletic directors and the basketball and football coaches. i mean they have coaches who have came from schools all around in order to coach at grace. and you mean to tell me that none of them had any idea that they were in the wrong??? i dont buy that. i dont think bad of grace as a school or a church, it is not my place to judge them, i'm sure there are many good people affiliated with the school. however, i do believe that the coaches and/or athletic directors are giving the athletic programs a "we will do anything to win" reputation. actions speak louder then words and when you have players getting thrown out of games and coaches running the score up on teams that under achieve year in and year out, it dont look very good on the program or what the school stands for. there are many successful coaches out there with good morals and character who do it the right way. after this whole fiasco i think they need to clean house, get these coaches out of there and bring in some individuals who represent the goals that are mentioned on their web site, integrity, responsibility, perseverance, christian ethics, team work etc.

Hey 'adamtwofive', I haven't posted anything since the Hampton-GCA game but I was glad to meet ya that night. I remembered you when you played, I believe one season you rang up at least 150 yards on us. Great running back, and I was finally glad that I was able to meet some of the posters on CoachT from region 1A. I was hoping to have met Pujo that nite but as you said he was already gone when I got to talk to you. I can't remember but who was the other person (poster) with you that I met? He told me but I forgot.

 

Good luck with Cosby.....I think the bulldogs will take care of business.

i was with adam when you talked to us. i believe i was wearing a braves hat. it was good meeting you, i think you are the first poster i have ever met in person.

ts been a long time since I lost my temper. You are ever so correct, eagle3314. It was really good to meet you and your husband. You guys are a good looking family. I shouldn't have gotten so angry with Adam25. I guess what got under my skin is Hampton posters have said very little all year, then they get the big win over Grace and now they just want the championship trophy handed to them. I think Cosby and Cloudland are better teams than Hampton. They play harder and don't make the mistakes that Hampton makes. This is not the dominate Hampton team of the past 3 years. They can and will be beaten.

i was just kidding about the steaks, i wont be able to make it to the game unfortunately. and i have a little more respect for cloudland and cosby than you think. just because i think hampton will beat the both cosby and cloudland doesnt mean that i think they are bad teams or that the game wont be worth the price of admission.

Whats up, ole eagle. I really hope yall get Hampton. Can you see why I hate them so much? They have people there no different from theChristless Academy poster. Seriously, Pujo, Mike, and little Mike are the only people I like that are affiliated with Hampton. The coaches at Cosby have more class in their pinky than the whole town of Hampton combined. I know one thing, and I know Pujo will disagree, Cloudland is going to bring the fire of God to Hampton come week ten. first of all i hope that cloudland does bring the fire of god to hampton week ten. i hope they both play their best game of the year everyone can clearly see that hampton is the better team. and really, do you have any room to talk about any fan being classless??? i must say in graces behalf that amos was a class act. his game did his talking and his grandpaw that we talked to after the game was a very friendly guy. but williams #5 is still a thug and classless... sorry.
