Lot's of kids tranfer to a new school. Look at Farragut, half of their top 15 guys, were zoned for other schools. The bottom line is success breeds success, and kids want to play for quality coaches that win. Most importantly, parents want their kids to play for a head coach that will work for them with college coaches, and NO ONE works harder for a kid than Coach Guinn.

All of the players who transferred to AC are better off for doing so, and I bet if you ask them they would tell you they are glad they did.

With Sevier County's zoning, I don't know why a parent of a high caliber player would send their child anywhere else. Great Tradition, great coaches, great facilities, great competition, and colleges know Coach Guinn and are constantly in contact and watching PF play, which is great exposure for a player.

 

If you want to point the finger at rule breakers, all you need to do is look around. "Transfers" happen at every school, especially the good ones.

I would like to know the 15 you speak of . Only know Cooper had to move to play. Did not say anything is wrong you just need to know the deal Coach Guinn has a history of winning not helping boys get better. All is fine until he finds next guy. Ask kids who did not play because of York, Rourex, White, Bynum and don't forget Farmer who recruted to replace a boy he had coached for 6 years(now playing in college). Families are faced with different rules in knox count and at Farragut we at least have to pay taxes to replace your kid.

The word I am looking for now is oxymoron(prob wrong spelling) It is already happennig. His nephews play for the Stars and he was followed to the 92nd ranked HS in the state academically. Hope you are not a fan of another SC school.

Flash, ' just finished a little homework on SC. The are in 2nd on the win side, 3rd on the loss side. Technicalities!! IF SC wins out except for Farragut, and Bearden wins out except for Farragut, which is a pretty safe bet. Then Bearden finishes 2nd and SC 3rd. So the only way SC can finish 2nd is to beat Farragut (unlikely), or Bearden to lose to Farragut AND someone else, (also unlikely). May be a little of a stretch to say SC is in 2nd right now, because if Bearden wins Wed. and you lose, you will still have 5 wins and Bearden 4, are you still in 2nd if this happens.

Baseball is a funny sport. Bearden played bad and lost to SC by 1. SC played bad and lost to Bearden by 6. Both threw their aces. PF played bad and lost to Bearden by 10, PF threw #6, Bearden #3 or #4. I think you and I can both agree that this year we will never know which team is better, Maybe we can start playing each other next year. PF loses 7 seniors. I'm sure SC will be glad to play them once the big boys are graduated.

SC is soon to have the blinds shut on a window that was never open. They will not get out of there distrct and after this year the Knoxville Stars will move to PF just like they moved to AC 5 years ago. Do not care about either one but with out the zoning restrictions we have in Knox county this will not even be a discussion in a couple years.

Irish will compete in new div. Will not dominate like years past but lets talk about what started this . Why are HC and DC gone.

DC= THUG and there is no room for THUG at private school. All the people I talked with said the same. Went to a game and asked who guy with ankle lenght shorts and hat backwards was.

HC= Grass greener on the other side. Looked at his history and he did same thing last time he left for Ga. Great football coach, I hope he has heck of a secratary to run athletic department. I heard his idea of balanced check book includes 2 foot level.

Did Farragut have 2009 Sports Bell on the trophy or can they re-use the secound place trophy. Could have saved money and given themselves they thropy they left . Might have been a load of Franklins.

I heard a rumor that Kevin Julian is leaving Halls and coming to Catholic. Anyone heard or know this to be true?

well the panthers were up 11-1 then farragut had a 8 run 3rd inning and started the comback.. the admirals play to win.. if they are down watch out cause they will come back and bite ur butt if ur not careful...they take everyadvantage they can... but i still dont know how they pulled it off. good luck to both teams

What doesnt make sense to me is why the coach was fired in the first place. I hear he was an foothole, well who cares? We aren't playing girls soccer sweetie. This is football. He knows his players and he is able to line his kids up to stop what is working for the other team.

Interesting you sound alot like Irish423. He a teacher before being a coach. There is only room for 1 teacher at Catholic who doesn't acctually teach and who never talks to anybody and Pemberton has that job. He lost his job for thinking he worked for Pemberton not the school. Will you go out for football when your balls finish growing in?

Wow , this is getting personal. Problem with the topic is people think coaches should teach . Coach Guinn is definatly one of the winningest coaches in east tn. since he was hired at AC. Pharr is a pitching guy with 2,500 kids to pick from, Davis is a baseball guy( prob best one), Buckner is a hitting guy with a large pool, Norman good all around with pick of sevier county (till now) and Guinn (high school tennis player) is the best recruter. He brought kids to AC and will bring kids to PF (bro in law Stars 13's coach). All diff qualities all win. Remenber Tony Larusa is a lawyer which should help with his latest driving issues.

Don't know Surals or Smith. I watched Catholic a few times this year. The DC is very good. Creative. He'll get hired quick. Don't know if Surals wants to coach or not. I've heard Pemberton has interviewed 1st class coaches that want the job & the principal runs em out of the interview.

You and Irish423 are on crack. Best dc in the state coming off his only year ever doing it. Principal could care less who dc is he has to find a teacher to replace Smith. If he would have been more involved hiring him he wouldn't have to replace him. He would have never gotten the job. Assistants at Catholic run drills and make no other decisions , that is why they leave every year. The only coaches who stay are the teachers.

Happyhour and ruse are both right about boosters but wrong about ad wanting or getting job. Pembertan and admin are at odds about DC. He is gone because he is an #$%$#. Thought he was at colledge program and forgot he was a teacher who coached football . The only person at the school who liked him was Pemberton and that is because he was his man slave.

I agree with ihavenofriendz, they cover who is doing the best, about 3 years ago Halls had a good team, they got lots of coverage, and 2 years ago South-Doyle had a great team, and they too got lots of media attention.

They will cover who is doing best at the the end . Preview is about $$ and past. Smithey has no clue about returning players and teams. Farragut ok but the rest was a joke. Bearden 2nd, Webb anywhere in the top 30, Southdoyle with 1 player and Pigion Forge playing in the district for the blind. There is better coverage at Anderson County Craker Barrell.

AC is no different than any other high school public or private pulling kids for sports. 5 or 10 years ago that was a big deal, but that is the norm. AC has not got the upper edge on kids playing out of their designated zone.

There is a differance between knox county/ private and out of county schools. Out of county schools have no rules other than come as a freshman. Private schools have to play schools almost twice there size and in knox county we actually have to live in the school district.

Where can I get a schedule for AC?

Coach Downs is a genius on the diamond, with his leadership and the Fab 5 returning to the lineup I see AC going a long way!!

It takes a keen baseball mind to bunt Rorex to secound everytime he gets on. AC parents seemed to be thrilled with the decision . We could always hear the yelling.

I agree that was not a good question. Especially coming from someone who has kids at both Bearden and Farragut.

Alright rebel, here you go. My totally objective comparison here with stats and everything to show why Curt is obviously better.

 

Curt is signed to play for Vanderbilt first of all, one of the best college programs in the nation.

Ryan is signed to play for MTSU which isn't bad by any means at all, but it just isn't Vandy.

Curt has started since his freshman year, batted leadoff every year, and played a huge roll for Farragut winning state his freshman year.

Ryan has only been starting since last year if i remember correctly, and had to wait behind Justin Miller.

Curt batted over .493 last year, had 8 homeruns and almost led the team in RBIs with 56 in the leadoff spot. (with a hurt wrist)

Ryan batted .361 with only 1 homerun last year. good, but nowhere near Curt's stats. (Curt batted .335 as a freshman just for a comparison)

Curt ran a 6.59 this year at the National Showcase at Tropicana Field and stole 3rd base many times last year.

Ryan u said ran a 6.7 which is really fast, but going by times and steals, once again Curt gets the nod.

Curt and his team have 2 state championships that he has had a major hand in.

Ryan and his team have not been to state, although they should've gone last year.

All this was was comparing stats side by side. If u still have an argument that Curt is not the better player, it is because a) you go to maryville and hate Farragut because they are better than you. b.) you have a personal vendetta against Curt for beating you out for SS in summer ball or something stupid like that c). a combination of A and B.

 

End of conversation. Both are great players, but Curt is by far the better players hands down.

They are both great players . Harder for Ford because he will have to face Far. pitchers. My question is for you. Do you think Nickie D will catch some this year so you might get to split time at 2nd ?

I believe The Irishmen are actually Catholic coaches. They need to realize they lost quite a bit from last years team due to graduation and suffered an even bigger loss with the injury (probably due to overuse) to Anders. Shut up and play. One district title doesn't give you room to brag. Please follow footballs'lead.

Has anyone heard anything about Scott High i heard they got a new coach that has vastly improved the players. and how many do you think they will win? And how will the 4-aa region end up. I would really like to see Scott High get back on tract. I would say Scott will win their first district game this this year which will be the first since 1992. They will win 10 games.

Not going to get any district wins because they forfit those games and play other schools jv squads. Only a couple of schools let varsity starters pad stats. 7 for 8 in double header adds 100 points to ba.

As an Admiral baseball fan, I don't think you should have posted this thread. If we end up struggling a bit and end up not nationally ranked, we look like idiots. Just my 2 cents.

Got it from a pretty good source that wires got crossed and officals were eating spaggetti supper which was cooked a day early. Grace has no one to blame for missing officals but themselves.
