I can't believe that the Maryville people are not up in arms about this blatant case of recruiting!

 

Too bad the kid will now be forced to play against inferior competition in D-II. I'm sure last year's Maryville team would have handled MUS.

Who won the State in Maryville's Division last year?

According to the article he may not play Friday night. I really want to check out Ensworth before the season is over at full strength. I went and watched MUS this past week and want to compare the two by seasons end. If anyone knows if Darkwa will be ready by Friday night, please post it on here!

I agree that WS will give MUS a run for the money, especially if the Owls don't pressure the QB any better than they did against East. I think WS will score 14-35 points, depending on the above. BUT MUS will score at least 35 and win.

 

You've got me curious now owlbooster. You mean to tell me that MUS isn't getting much of a pass rush on the opposing QB ... or that they didn't against East? I know S.P. came back on you guys via the pass. The same for O.B. if I am correct. But both of those teams were your basic old fashioned "My lineman are bigger then your linemen and we are going to just line up and bowl you over" type of teams. But East is a different type of team altogether aren't they? WHS kind of fits more into the 'East' type of team then they do to 'S.P. or O.B.' type of team. I can see your reason for concern. I just don't know if coach Rutherford will commit enough to the passing game to make MUS change their defensive philosophy because he is going to want to stay balanced with the run verses the pass. If he decides to tip the scale say .... 60 pass / 40 run ... well ... do you think that things could get interesting?

I've had the honor to watch Franklin play a few times this season and they're the best team i've seen besides a healthy Hillsboro and MBA. I think Franklin will take this game and i have them winning state. Great talent for the Rebels at every position and get away from the fact that Franklin is one of the best coached teams in all of the state. Good luck to both teams though

Thanks goodness you are available to answer all of the questions! Why did EW leave CBHS? Why did EW go to OBHS? Why did EW leave OBHS? Why did he not go to another private school? Why did EW play in only the Fairly game? Why is the Commercial appeal constantly making mistakes regarding EW and playing in basketball and football games? Im just saying that when I was coaching, I think if the kid is as good as you say EW is, then we would have found his Dad a job, in order for him to stay. This whole thing smells bad. I really wonder if there is some underlying issue that none of us are privy to. A great player just doesn't up and move in the middle of the season unless HE is unhappy about playing time or carries, OR, the COACHES don't care if he leaves or stays for reasons of team unity. I coached over 30 years and NEVER saw a great player move in the middle of a season for ANY reason. There is more to this than any of us know, because it makes NO sense at all.

Watson was the second best back Olive Branch had. He was the feature back at CBHS. The third team he has dressed out for in the last two years isn't sure if they can play him. His Dad was being provided employment or money until he started fussing about PT. His Dad shopped him around to other programs in the Memphis area? Why would you say this stinks? Yeah they are defenetly not. Way to young in the secondary. Although they may have one of the best D-lines in the south. You don't find many good programs with a kid who has started since 8th grade!

I mean't to write state. And in ba's losses it wasn't there defenses fault, it was their stuggling offense. Even in the Prattville game ba's D stood their ground. Even though i do not think Prattiville is as good as the hype, they are still a "national powerhouse".

More key to his teams succes? You must be kidding. Jefferson is the team. Orleans holes are opened up because of him. Im taking nothing away from Darkwa but he is so good beacause of Jefferson. BA might have one of the best defenses in the nation and Jefferson took over the game and almost beat them by himself. It was amazing. BA knew every play he would run and still couldn't stop him. Brunetti has talent all over the field while Jefferson has Darkwa. It will not be right if Jefferson does not win.

No! MUS 35 MBA 21 sounds more reasonable. Then we can have a loud Friday night!

MBA/MUS is a toss-up. Wish they could play in the championship game.

 

If there was more inter-play between the E/M and West teams (and/or if all of the E/M teams had to play each other every year), we would have a better chance of getting the best 2 teams in the finals.

 

I don't see why all the E/M teams shouldn't have to play each other. The cost of travel is obviously an issue for E/M and West match-ups.

Be prepared for more interplay between middle/east and west due to ECS aand Webb feeling the need to play a patsy schedule.

The D-II West TN Regional Tourney is being played at CBHS. What is the format?

The night I saw him I wasn't overly impressed. He was good but not what I had built up in my mind based on what I had heard. Maybe he wasn't having his best outing so I won't make my judgment off that one time seeing him. I'll have to get out and see him again. Any idea when he is pitching again?

Laconte has two losses now, but agreed he is a very good pitcher.
