  1. Is kind of funny on these whinning about the ref posts. I rarely see anything, if ever, from a team, coach or supporter that says "yea, we got a ton of calls that helped us win." I am sure that the Grace Rams have had some close games over the years that they were the benificiary of some favorable calls. Sad thing is the kids read these posts (I am sure by parents of players at times) and feel they have validated excuses. Bad calls happen in all sports....everywhere. Grace should not have been down by 11!

You are right, we had an off night for sure...should have won by 20..

  2. Beat Grace on senior night in OT. Grace is ranked 4th in prepxtra poll behind only Bearden, AE, and Fulton. They are 5th in state in single A and will probably get back to the state again. AC's manager played the first 3 or 4 minutes of the game and ran to the locker room when coach finally took him out. Pretty funny stuff. Rorex hit a shot at the buzzer to win.

It was good to see the Manager get to play on Senior night. I think both sides of the gym loved that. It's a shame that the refs were so bad at this game. In OT with the game tied and Grace with the ball, the officials made an unbelievable call..Rorex was pulling Pridemores jersery so hard that it caused him to almost fall and the refs called a walk on Pridemore....Just a sad sad thing to do to these kids who played so hard. Let the play decide the outcome, not a terrible call. Congrats Grace for overcoming an 11 point deficit to take the game into OT. You played hard and with great character and class. Hopefully, these officials will be reprimanded for their poor officiating. Looks like all 3 of the refs have seen their better days.....Best of Luck to the Rams in the upcoming tournaments...Hope this game got you players fired up and mad!!!

  3. You say Greenback has no class, then what do you think Grace has anyway? None... Greenback doesn't have coaches cussing opposing team's player nor do they have players giving the opposing team's fans the bird. Who just happened to do these two things? Grace... Just check this link below, to see how much class Grace had.

Thats what caused the big altercation in the first place.

It's too bad the picture didn't show #5 getting punched in the privates 3 times before this altercation...I would have been a little upset too. Even one of Greenback's coaches said that he didn't blame #5...so get the facts...

  4. WOW! That game is over. This is Oneida vs. Greenback. Not to be rude but I really get tired of all the publicity y'all get. Its crazy! We beat you get over it. If you want to continue talkin about that game there is a total topic all about it. As for the me... I want to move on from that game and prepare for this one. I bet the other people on here do also.

    You better prepare....

    Oneida 50

    Greenback 14

  5. Sounds like Grace shouldnt even show up, maybe the game shouldnt even be played because we all know what people think is going to happen in any game is the way it always ends up RIGHT??? Its so weak when the people that dont even play the game run their mouth the most. Good luck to both teams both have had a great year. These are kids for crying out loud.

    WONDERFUL POST!!!

  6. as a new poster can I ask where you learned of this FACT is it in the TSSAA rules because I can't find it, again i don't want to come on too harsh and make enemies just trying to find out.

The TSSAA cannot keep a kid from playing IF the school that they transfer from signs off that they are not holding them back from playing athletics.

  7. Where is the clause about if you leave Oliver Springs and come to Coalfield and your parents are acting like they are seperated. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

Yep, clauses are everywhere.....It is a fact that if the Principal/AD of the school that the athlete is leaving signs off that they can play athletics, then they do not have to sit out at all...

  8. wel ram fan maybe if your fans wouldnt be in our coaches ears in the first quarter he wouldnt have got punked out my dad happens to be one of those coaches and regardless if that showed class or not your fellow fan shouldnt run his mouth if he dont want to get it mashed!!!!!

Your post says it all....the apple apparently does not fall far from the tree...sad...

  9. no when you transfer by tssaa rule you have to sit out a year unless your parents jobs allows you to swith or you move more than so many miles away from where you were living and i have no doubt that you r a family and very close but how many in your family actually live around close by to the school did all the clinton transfers move to karns or the kids from karnes parents get hired at the school or the ones from powell parents get hired if not did they move more than i thhink 30 miles from where they lived before if not then mandontory 1 year sit out. if that is why they wanted to come to gca why did they not come two years ago when they hired the greenback coach with all is accompolishments we know why.

No, YOU are wrong...Clinton High school AD signs off on who he wants to and who he does not.....

  10. your team is not a community it a metropolis and it is strange to me that all of a sudden kids from all over the big city or city and other communities decided to come to grace the head coach comes in and kids from clinton decide to come to grace set out a year and play for one, but not when you had a coach that was there that had 30 yrs experience won a state championship and had been to the playoffs many times we all know what is going on you can say what ever and try to deguise it any way you want but we as fans are not stupid and you will get a taste of playing a good team friday night instead of the o-10, 1-9, 2-8 teams you have been playing

No, you are wrong. Our team is a family...from the coaches down to the cheerleaders and fans, this is a special place and I'm proud to be just a small part of it... That is why kids WANT to come to GCA. The kids that transferred didn't HAVE to sit out for a year...that was what Clinton's wonderful athletic director did to these kids!

As far as the game goes, we know that Greenback is good and that it will be a good game.....We also have faith and know that our RAMS will be ready....

  11. There's been a lot said about Grace's lack of class, sportsmanship, etc. on this board. I was at the game Friday night and saw one of the most discouraging events I've seen in high school athletics. When 3 high school coaches take off to the fence in a clear attempt to fight fans from the opposing school, disciplinary action needs to be taken. I'm referring to a call made in the 1st quarter against Coalfield and 3, not 1, not 2, but 3 of their coaches had to be physically held back by players and other sideline personnel to keep them from getting to the fence. Sure, you could argue that Grace fans shouldn't be on the fence behind the opposing team, and I would somewhat agree with you. However, coaches are to set an example, and coaches are NEVER to listen to or react to fans words.

I grew up in Coalfield as a kid, back when Coalfield was respected and had a great winning tradition and a program that was known for its sportsmanship. Somewhere in the last 15 years or so that has changed. I was at the Coalfield game in the regular season when we played them down at their place. That was one of the worst displays of sportsmanship that I have ever seen. Yes, we had 2 unsportsmanlike penalties, one that shouldn't have been called, the other was a good call. Those calls pale in comparison to the play of the Coalfield players. They played as poor a game as I've seen with regard to sportsmanship. I once was proud to be associated with Coalfield, however, after the regular season game and the playoff sideline incident, it is clear that I was proud to be associated with a program and a community that has changed and forgotten its roots. Not only has Coalfield forgotten how to be good sports, they have leaders on the sidelines that are teaching their players that its ok to act like thugs and their first reaction should be to fight.

You can speculate about "class" and we can go against each other all day long on that issue. However, when you send a team on the field led by classless coaches that attempt to fight fans DURING a game, there needs to be something not only said, but done about that. I hope the Coalfield High School staff and Athletic Director address this matter.

So true...how could you teach your players about "class" when as a "coach" you are acting like this? The coaches who did this should not be allowed to "coach" any longer...If the AD from Coalfield has any "class" at all, he/she will address this very serious problem..

  12. My thoughts exactly!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Hey I appreciate your son giving mine a ride the past few days dealing with two cars is about to get the best of us. Makes you wonder what we done before.

REBELRON must have family in Greenback, too...hahahahaha!!

Hey, not a problem at all.....anytime!

  13. Thanks GraceRamFan! If Clinton can stay healthy next year, i think we are going to make some noise!

I know that me and my son are going to be there friday night and I am probably going to bring a couple more people as well. Im sure there are going to be plenty of Dragons in the stands pulling for Grace! There is always going to be a special place in my heart for those Grace players! Good luck and GO RAMS!!!!!

Thanks 92Dragon...We appreciate the support! The Grace players from Clinton still have some very good friends in Clinton and only wish them the best in the future!

  14. Im gonna have to pull for Hester and Little! Go Rams!!

Thanks, 92Dragon and Congrats on a great season...next year will be fun for the dragons!!

I like the fact that nobody thinks the RAMS will pull this one out....gives our boys lots of motivation!! It will be a great game and I will go with my RAMS to pull it out...Hope some of the dragons will be in attendance...

Our fans and our players realize that this is going to be tough. Everybody expected the way our scedhule was that the wheels would fall off at least sometime during the regular sason for the simple fact our opposition had not been that great. And they fell off against Hampton. This game will without a shadow of a doubt will be the toughest we have faced this season. So all I know to say is we are going have to practice hard and play absolutely focused for four full quarters Fiday night. If we do that I think this one will be decided in the last five minutes. If GCA or Greenback doubts the others ability it's over early. And I guarantee you we dont doubt what Greenback is capable of. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

You are right Diddler...should be one heck of a game...and I like being the underdog...I'm sure our boys will use it as motivation for Friday night...It's time to buckle up the chinstraps and get it done!

  15. Wow, this GCA, Cosby, and "King" lovefest is just hilarious!!!! It's just plain jealousy and envy of the Hampton Bulldogs success over the last several years. It's easy to understand because even in a down year, the Dogs still finish in a three-way tie for the MEC championship and are still the best team in the MEC.

Pujo, keep telling it like it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Hampton Bulldogs!!!!!

    Beat the Greenback Cherokees!!!!!

By the way, congrats to Cosby and GCA for finally obtaining at least a share of the MEC title.

    /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> People hate you when you are #1!!!!!!

  16. Cosby was 6-5 in 2005 and 9-2 in 2006 , not to mention a few winning seasons in the early to mid 90's so this isn't our first taste of a good season. I love how the only team that has previously won a title between the three of us is the only one on here hollering it's a co championship , greedy buttheads! /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

    AMEN!!!

  17. We missed being there especially since these game are dwindling down for us. Pray for Jes her blood sugars have been crazy and she actually got unresponsive Sunday and we had to use the emergency shot (that really scared her) and us, V wouldnt go to his room and slept in the living room to be closer to her. But she seems to be getting straightened out now. We should all be back in the saddle Friday night including V he's all wound up.

We will pray for Jes...glad she's doing better. See you all there on Friday night! I know that V is ready to go!!!

  18. As much as I hate to admit it I wasnt at the Cosby game. My son was not able to play and my daughter was sick so after weighing things out my wife and I stayed home with her at her brother's suggestion. So all I have to go on is what my son and the Ram faithful told me and they basically both said that it's a shame someone had to lose. Of course we are glad we won. However i also heard that we were not prime form. So Playoff time might be very interesting.

I think you guys will take Greenback but it will be very close.

How about it ar the Dogs ready to come back to K-town?

We missed you Diddler and Mrs. Diddler at the Cosby game....but your daughter's health comes first...Hope she is feeling better...

It was a great game and came down to the wire...we were blessed to come out as the winner...it could have went either way at the end. Cosby fans and team were nothing but classy to us Ram Fans. I think we will be ready on Friday night, though. I would love to get the chance to play Hampton again...
