  1. Region 6 is not as strong as Region 7. Now i will say that South Side will always bring it because it is a tradition rich program but I am just saying, IF my CAVS had your schedule i think we would be undefeated right now. We were picked to be next to last in our Region and now we are pretty much a shoe in for the play offs. Our region is very unpredictable because there are so many teams that could be a potential front runner.......every year in region six tho.... SS wins region and the rest really doesnt matter because no other teams challenge you. Should be a great game, this rivalry still is not dead. you guys have won the last three meetings......I think its time for a change! CC wins 35-21!

    Go Cavs

Wow 37-7 Southside kicked Crocket co. butt tonite. Not going to rub it in to much. Just get tired of hearing 7-3a so much better than 6-3a. Southside would contend for the 7-3a region title. Good luck cavs! Go 8-1 Hawks!!!

  2. Southside has a pretty good team 7-1. They win with all around play. There is no stand out players. Just get it done with the team effort. have been able to run and pass. Pretty balanced. Last yr. SS won 14-12. This year in will be a close game but higher scoring. Im picking SS 28- crocket co 27 It will be a war at the Hawk nest friday! Can't wait. Good luck to both teams. GO Hawks!

  3. Week 2 is in the books - What does your top 12 look like now - Here's mine

    1. Henry Co.

    2. Milan

    3. Southside

    4. Hardin Co.

    5. Haywood

    6. Crockett Co.

    7. Lexington

    8. Dyer county

    9. Dyersburg

    10. Liberty

    11. Camden

    12. Bolivar

    12a. Westview

Pretty good list after week 2. But you have to have Liberty higher than DC they beat then week 1. abd bolivar needs to be higher.

    1Henery co.

    2.Milan

    3.hardin co.

    4.jax SS

    5.haywood

    6 Bolivar

    7.liberty

    8.crocket.co.

    9.lexington

    10.westview

    11.camden

    12.Dyersburg

  4. Is this the same SS team that got beat like a drum from Huntingdon last month? Milan scored 53 pts on Huntingdon last Friday night. Lexington has scrimmage Huntingdon twice and beat them both times. This is not a "two" man show by any means!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I think Jax SS and Bolivar are just getting to much love from the press. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I might be wrong.....but this Friday's night game between Lexington & Bolivar will have effect on the 6-3 AAA race.

Lexington is playing McNairy friday nite they will play for 3rd and 4th place.

  5. JSS has a shot but I like Bolivar better because they have J. Pirtle running the football. Sorry!!!

He's a great back and they have a good QB. But overall i still think SS has the edge. This is a new era for SS. They have a great def. Aslo play calling is much better. They mix in the pass alot now. Cant wait til they play!!

  6. Playoff seeding battle here. I like both of these teams to get into the postseason. Something is telling me to pick Lexington so I am going to go with the Tigers.

I like Bolivar as the clear favorite to win the region but the winner of this one could easily be the other team hosting in the opening round of the playoffs.

Bolivar has to go through the Hawks first!! How are they a clear favorite??? Southside lost little from last year. A team that beat Bolivar 20-10 last yr.

Im going with Mcnairy to win this game 20-13

  7. Good for JCM I was pulling for them against haywood. Looks like jcm has a great def. I hope they don't get there off. going this week! It's going to be a war at the ROCK! I think SS will pull out a late win. It will be a low scoring game SS 14-jcm12

  8. I'll be there....South Side should win but who knows......Haven't been to SS since Greenbrier came to town a few years back....looking foward to it....

    GO REBELS!!

Im hoping for a win but would like a test to see what the Hawks have this year. You know the Hawks have black helments this year. Alittle different but they look good.

I wish All schools had there own radio station. Thats great ill have to check it out this year.

  10. I am excited to see the kid form Northside, I heard he was the real deal although undersized. Form the looks of it the re is going to be alot of shoes to fill from the graduated starters off many of the Jackson area teams. Any predictions on which team will look the best tonight? I suppose on paper Milan looks to be the favorite.

I look for Milan jackson SS and Jackson NS to look the best. Mann the rb for NSide is shifty and fast. Fun to watch(well if your not playn him)

  11. Despite 29 years of excellent service as the PBP voice of Lexington football, it seems that Dan Hughes has been (quietly) shown the door by 99.3. Very sad, as Dan's voice was as synoymous with Big Red football as anything was.

Man hate to hear that. I enjoyed listening to him call the Jackson SS vs Lex. games. Who is replacing him? Will he still do work for 96.5?

  12. The region as a whole will be down again this year. Bolivar may be the only team that wins a playoff game

1.Bolivar(8-2)(5-0) Best the region has to offer.

2.Mcnairy co (6-4)(4-1) Moody is the best RB in the region. Alot of starters returning

3.Jax Southside (6-4)(3-2) New coach new off cord. Lost several key players. Not much is know about them yet.

4.Lexington 6-4(2-3) New coach really young team

5.Fware3-7(1-4) New coach lost key players

    6. Chester co. 2-8(0-5) maybe they can surprise a few teams this year.
