  1. 2-A

    Upper bracket

    Trinity Christian vs. Allons--2/11

    Scotts Hill vs. So. Pitt--2/4

    Lower bracket

    Linden vs. Nashville--2/10

    Rutherford vs. St. Joseph--2/10

Does anyone know anything about the teams in the AA bracket??? I am familiar with Nashville Christian, but as for the other seven teams, I know absolutely nothing.

  2. I don't think the 15U sub-state in Middle or East TN has been played yet, but I do have some of the 12U and 13U teams that qualified from last weekend's YBOA Middle TN Sub-State. I think the top 3 teams from each sub-state qualify for the YBOA State Tournamnet, but if I'm wrong someone please correct me. Here are the teams:

    12u

    1. Tennessee Team Pride

    2. Tennessee Lady Tigers

    3. Tennessee Swoosh

    13u

    1. Tennessee Lady Tigers

    2. Tennessee Voyagers

    3. Tennessee Shock

  3. Whew, now that was a long prediction. It was very thought out and I pretty much agree with your picks. The Team Pride stands a chance to hang with Pool A if they play like they did against the Lady Tigers in the Sub-State this weekend. I heard the Lady Tigers might be missing a player or two this weekend so they may not be as strong this weekend as they have been the past two. I was told by one of their parents that they were missing a backup post player that gets quite a few minutes this weekend, yet they still finished 2nd in Sub-State. If they can ever manage to get all their players together for one weekend, then they are dangerous. Believe me, I got to witness first hand what a beating by the Lady Tigers looks like when they beat the Team Pride by 16 two weekends ago.

do teams pick up/add players for state

or nationals from teams that don't qualify

for them or do most go with what got them

there?  i may know of a couple of girls, maybe

three that could help a team... they've been

mentioned in other threads with their teams....

    thanks,

Well there aren't any teams looking to pick up players yet that I know of around here. However, like ptguard said, no one will be looking to pick up anyone until after State probably. Are the 3 players that you are refering to off of the Sparks or Belles because alot of your posts are about those two teams? Anyways, if I hear anything about anyone wanting to pick some players up, I'll let you know.

  5. North Middle 13U

#1 - Tennessee Team Pride - Didn't have any trouble in this sub-state.

#2 - Tennessee Lady Tigers - After losing to the Franklin Fury in the first game of the tournament by 4, they took out the Bullets in overtime by 3 before they came back to beat the Fury in the Consolation game by 16.

  6. North Middle 12U

    Loser's Bracket

TN Lady Tigers over TN Team Pride by 3 - Another great game by these two teams. The Team Pride played great; just came up a little short in the end. Coaching may have cost the Team Pride in the end as the players who helped them jump out to an early 11 - 4 lead sat on the bench down the stretch despite not being in foul trouble. Lady Tigers missed numerous layups and free throws in the last 2 minutes that would have gave them a much easier win. Team Pride had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but the 3-point shot rattled out.

    Championship Game

    Cookeville Crushers over Sycamore Sparks

    Consolation Game -- 2nd Place

TN Lady Tigers over Sycamore Sparks by 11 - Sycamore just didn't look like themselves as they looked like they knew they were going to lose even before the game started. This may or may not have had something to do with the absence of their head coach who was not present for either the Championship or Conselation game? The Lady Tigers jumped out early and never looked back as they at one time had as much as a 16 or 18 point lead on the Sparks in the 2nd half. The Sparks scored a few easy baskets in the last minute to pull it within 11 as the Lady Tigers already knew they had it wrapped up.

So, advancing to the state tournament from the North Middle 12U is:

    #1 - Cookeville Crushers

    #2 - Tennessee Lady Tigers

  7. Belles lost in OT to Express by 4 (either 58-54 or 68-64, I believe) then went on to lose by 5 in OT against the Chattanooga Hotshots (don't recall the exact score, something like 40-35).

TN Express will have played against the Top Guns for 1st, by now.

Hotshots will face either Lewisburg Lightning or TN Extreme in the round at 9am in the morning in the loser's bracket.  The winner of that game will face the loser of the Top Guns/Express game for 2nd.

Does anyone know who won the game between the TN Top Guns and the TN Express?

Also, who exactly is still left in the loser's bracket?

  8. North Middle 12U

TN Team Pride defeated CDF Lady Kats

TN Lady Tigers defeated TN Swoosh

    Tommorrow:

Sycamore Sparks vs. Cookeville Crushers at 10:30 at CCHS (Championship)

TN Lady Tigers vs. TN Team Pride at 10:30 at CMS

Loser of Sparks/Crushers vs. Winner of Tigers/Pride at 1:30 at CMS (Consolation)

All teams are pretty evenly matched so it's still anybody's ballgame. The fight for 2nd should be interesting.

  9. In 12u the Sparks played the tigers tonight and won 41-39

earlier in the evening the Cookville Crushers beat TN pride

the Sparks play the Crushers Sunday morning for 1st place

Despite the size of the Tigers the Sparks always seem to gain the upperhand when it counted... Kudos to the Tigers for their comeback to tie the game in the last minute! It made for a very exciting fast paced game!

This was the best game I have watched the Sparks play yet, I cant wait till Sunday to see how they do!

You are right kiwidad, the Sparks were very very impressive tonight. However, you know it is your night when the smallest player on the floor for both teams knocks down a 3 pointer 30 feet out with a minute left to go in the half. It was an unbelieveable shot that surprised just about everyone in the gym. Guard play was the story of this game as nearly all of the Lady Tigers points came from their guards as their post players seemed to struggle with the interior defense of the Sparks. The Bliss twins of the Sparks proved once again that big things come in small packages as they lit the Lady Tigers up on the offensive end.

In the first game, the Cookeville Crushers jumped out to an 11-2 lead on the Team Pride and never looked back. The Team Pride managed to fight their way back to within 3 with 4:00 left to go in the game, but some costly turnovers and some questionable coaching moves eventually did them in as they went on to lose by 14.

As for tomorrow's championship game, if the Sparks played like they did tonight, then I don't see the Crushers being able to stop them. The Crushers are not a particularly strong outside shooting team which could hurt them against the Sparks.

It will also be interesting to see just how well the Lady Tigers and the Team Pride rebound from their losses. The Lady Tigers draw a tough TN Swoosh team who could give them some problems, much as they did the Team Pride last weekend. The Team Pride should advance through to face the winner of that game with the winner of that one going on to play in the consolation game.

  10. Thanks for all the info.  It does not surprise me to see that the Tennessee Lady Tigers were able to beat the Tennessee Team Pride by that many.  I had suspected that they would go out and find themselves some good players to add to the ones they already had.  If you can, could you provide us with a roster of that team?  I'm also interested in getting a roster for the Sycamore Sparks if anyone knows it as I suspect they may have also added a player or two.

I only a know a few of the players from the TN Lady Tigers as we have played them in middle school, but I can try to ask a couple of people and see if they can give me their roster. I think they lost 2 or 3 players who were non-starters last year and they have added 4 players I think to this years team--2 posts and 2 guards. Ill see if I can get a roster for you.

  11. If the Tennessee Lady Tigers returned everyone from last year's team that made a run at Nationals (advanced out of pool play), and possibly added someone capable of making an outside shot (struggled with it at state last year),  then I would think that they would be the favorite.  I heard the Cookeville Crushers had lost some players and was looking for more so I don't know how they will end up looking.  The Tennessee Team Pride and Sycamore Sparks will both be in the mix as well.  The Team Pride has the size in the post, but lacks it in the guards.  The Sparks just lack size all the way around, unless they have found some more players.  However, they are very quick and have some really good shooters and sometimes size isn't everything.  As for the Southside Stars, I'm not sure I've even heard of them.

Thought you might be interested to know that the TN Lady Tigers defeated the TN Team Pride by 16 this weekend. Both teams have added some quality players and the Lady Tigers appear to be extremely deep, atheltic, and fast. Also, here is the sub-state bracket for this age group which starts this coming weekend:

    Round 1

    Cookeville Crushers vs. TN Trouble

TN Team Pride vs. TN Swoosh

    Sycamore Sparks vs. Southside Stars

TN Lady Tigers vs. CDF Lady Kats

    Round 2

Winner of Crushers/Trouble vs. Winner of Pride/Swoosh

Winner of Sparks/Stars vs. Winner of Tigers/Kats

Does anyone have any information on the TN Trouble, Southside Stars, TN Swoosh, or CDF Lady Kats. I am familiar with the top 4 as they all played in the 11U last year, but I'm not real familiar with the other ones.
