  1. ......in my head right now i can just visualize Milan and Goodpasture head coaches sitting in their lockerooms, exhausted from summer workouts, and in the background a picture of Gary Rankin , with a large red cirlce with a line through it, and off in the distance u can vaguely make out the lyrics to " dont stop believin" by Journey................. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Rankinated i haven't heard from you in a while...nice to see you again

  2. Who is Alcoas Offensive Tackles?? I feel sorry for whoever it is when Big Ben Stiles from Mcminn Central gets ahold of that big panzy. He will make them feel like little kids after he gets done bullyin them!!

I have heard some talk about him, but the Alcoa O-Line is far from soft...Marcel Walden (SR), Derek Evans (JR), J.T. Rankin (Soph), Justin Marsh (SR), and John Weatherly (SR) are all powerful assets to the line. Stiles won't completely destroy them, but i am hoping he brings the war with him. That makes these games much more fun /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  3. I will have to disagree with you, my friend.

Out of all of the names you mentioned, none had more than five catches last year.

When Maryville put the lock down on T Rob late and Thompson (0 catches in the game), there was NO third option.

Later in the season we had plenty of opportunity to develop some of the receivers, but did not, I guess for impressions sake, but we ran and ran and ran some more.

Daniel Robinson played 60 snaps against CAK last season in two games and caught no balls. That is just one case in point. BUT!!! I do not think that there is a better or deeper set of blockers than we have in our group of receivers!

Isom should be the #2 option behind T Rob, after that it will be wide open and should have some good competition amongst the kids come late summer.

The best hands on the team by far belong to Tyler Robinson and Daniel Robinson, followed closely by either Chaz Barnes or Steven Isom...the fact that Alcoa's running game was (and still is) so deep takes away from the amount of catches they get. Rankin does do a pretty good job of mixing it up quite a bit, and i noticed his quote in the paper today, "We've got to find some receivers." My starters at receiver would be T Rob, D Rob, and either Isom or Jett.

  4. Alcoa and Milan will get a rematch for the title...but Alcoa's schedule is much tougher than in the past few years. I hope Bell County KY is a good game, Maryville will be great, Fulton, AE...I'm lookin forward to some closER games this season. In the end the Tornadoes will bring home number 6 in a row! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  6. What's everyone's thoughts on the starting lineup?

    QB-Tallent, RB-Toney, FB-Tyson, WR-Isom, WR-Warfield?, TE-Robinson, OL- Walden, Evans, Rankin, Marsh, and ?

    DE-Warren, Robinson, DT-Kerr, Burchfield, LB-N. Robinson, Herbert, Chapman?, ? CB-Toney, Hambrick, S-Tallent

No clue on a kicker or a punter

The last O-Linemen might be a senior named Weatherly...and i spoke with Nathaniel Robinson recently, and he is unsure of when he is going to be back from nerve injuries in time for the season opener. The LB's as of right now would be Taharin Tyson, Dee Herbert, and Georgio Coffin. Steven Isom is looking really good at punter. And one starting split end might be Jared Jett instead of Warfield...both of them had a great Spring.

  7. Coach said "I was a bad waterboy and and my momma was da devil!"

    /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Wow i'm dying over here /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  8. Congratulations to both CAK and Alcoa on setting themselves apart as two of the best teams in the state, and a big congrats to the Warriors and their victory...I hope the intensity of this rivalry continues on. It sure is more fun to watch that way /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  9. What Alcoa needs is someone that can be a mentor and leader both on the field and off the field which Rankin is neither of these. He shows nothing but disrespect for he is only worried about himself.

Sir leave those comments at home...have you ever had a conversation with Coach Rankin in person? Apparently not...because if you have, you would be agreeing with everyone else on here by stating the facts---Rankin is a respectful person, a great coach, and a strong school administrator.

  10. I know of 2 schools within a 15 minute bus ride of Alcoa............. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

    /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Linemen Justin Marsh and Justin Hopky also reached their Max squat at about 550, But Toneys was 555, not 550, sorry to be technical /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

As of pretty recently Jaron is up to 560, and Marsh and Hopkey both reached 565

  11. Too bad Willy B or Heritage won't step up and get whooped, but I guess there's no upside to gettin an annual beat-down from a school less than half their size. It's a shame they ruined the whole Blount County rivalry though, only upside is we get to see opponents of a higher caliber. Fulton, Bell, etc. Hopefully some other schools will step up to the plate, I hate seein us get cheated out of an extra game because no one wants to play the best. I think we got em scared...

    /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> amen brother

  12. Look for Tallant to excell at QB, with Taharin Tyson runnin the ball a lot again this year. The Tornadoes get Jaron Toney back also...Defensively Tallant will be knockin heads at safety, with nathaniel robinson, dee herbert, tyler robinson, and so much more coming back. I'm expecting another gold ball for Alcoa this year...Good luck to the Tornadoes, and i'll be in attendance at the spring scrimmages! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  13. I watched it on CSS last night, and i am impressed...i love what Kiffin did by doing offense vs. defense instead of breaking them up into actual teams. I really enjoyed it /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  14. I will be happy if Alcoa plays as well next year as this year. Sam Thompson, Chase James and all the others seniors will be "big shoes" to fill. I know Alcoa reloads well and Alcoa has great talent in the under classes but again there are some Great seniors playing this season that Alcoa will miss.

That is very true...Tyler Robinson will do that with little difficulty. So will many other upcoming juniors and seniors such as Nathaniel Robinson, Taharin Tyson, Austin Tallant, and many others.

  15. Brodus is such a great athlete and a great person as well...its a shame he has to pick which sport to play when he is so skilled at both. Keep working hard Tornadoes! Go for the gold /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
