Is there anyone who thinks Volunteer will win Friday? I know that I'm not the only one who thinks they have a shot. Would like to hear some comments from Falcon fans.

If volunteer wants to win they have to play their best athletes all the time. Play people on defense that can tackle and cover wrs. Also, blocking is horrible right now. I know volunteer isn't loaded with talent, but the effort I've seen so far is embarassing. Coach Rider, its time to stop looking at the ground like you are picking weeds in your yard and start lighting into your players for the halfass effort they show. Play the ones that will get the job done!

Volunteer will be lucky to win 2 games this year based on what I've seen. North wins by 3 scores.

Yeah, any help would be much appreciated. I've seen places online that will make a highlight tape but you have to send your game films off. I would rather have the tape made local.

I know it's just a spring scrimmage, but I like what I saw last Friday. The falcons, played everyone and did pretty good against Betsy. Everyone got an opportunity to show what they have. Still room for a lot of improvement over the next 3 months. One complaint, when you run the football put wide recievers in that will block someone, especially on your 1st two offensive possessions. I know it was a scrimmage, but the falcons offense missed an opportunity to build confidence. Overall, the falcons look to be much improved from last year.

He is good to go. Opposing teams have did a good job taking him out of the game and he is really frustrated with only getting 14 touches the past 3 games. I believe he will put up some numbers tonight.

This is what I've seen the past three seasons at Volunteer. 1)A lot of players do not know how to tackle or block. The coaches should take the 2 weeks in the spring just to teach them how to tackle and block. Most of the players can't do the simple things. 2)Every season it takes about four or five weeks in the season to get the punting and the extra points to work. That's unacceptable 3) Coaches take too much time getting the offense plays in. 4) The offense they put in this season is insane. You cant run the ball when every one is in so tight and the safety keys on the tailback. The playbook isn't creative. 5) Not having any plays under center and trying to pass long out passes is a formula for failure at the high school level. Throw the ball over the middle when the LB's bring pressure. It's not that hard. 6) The coaches should be playing the best players both ways and maybe just maybe you wouldn't get blown out. 7) Not making adjustments or using different personal when the players you have in can't get the job done. 8) Parents scream about the coaching but do nothing to make their kid better 9) Players give up when they get down. 10) A lot of penalties and turnovers. I could keep posting things on here, but why? I'm not going to say it's all the coaches fault, but they are the ones putting the plays in and working with the players. I know the talent level isn't the greatest at Volunteer, but when your team looks like a bunch of middle schoolers out there compared to the competition, then it has to have something to do with the coaching. No matter how you look it, it's a bad situation at Volunteer. I don't see them doing that much better no matter who coaches them next year. The school doesn't care if the football teams gets beat every game. I believe it's pretty much accepted there. If you can get 5 or 6 wins then the administration is happy. To me that is horrible! I wish the Falcons the best of luck, but it's going to take some time to get this team to where they need to be. If the schedule stays the same the Falcons could win 6 games next year with the right offense. Will they? How knows, but I hope they don't ever run that horrible sing wing again.

Penalties have hurt the falcons this season along with many other things. I would love to see the falcons finish the season strong, but I know the only game they have a chance to win is against Central. South is a good football team. I was impressed with every phase of the Rebels game. I think South will win against S Hill tomorrow night. Good luck to the Rebels the rest of the season.

#5 will play, he has played most of the season banged up. I would say he's 85%. I don't see him being a major factor in this game. Last week #5 had only 8 carries, 1 of those carries with 4 minutes left in the game when it was 41 to 0. Most of the game #5 was in pass blocking. I can not recall Volunteer running the football out of spread formation all season. So if Boone gets a lead they will take the running game away. I expect the Falcons to pass most of the game. I think this is an easy win for Boone.

I thought this team could have won at least 5 games this year, but I knew Volunteer would be in trouble after I seen the offense in the first scrimmage. Volunteer isn't loaded with a lot of talent, but neither is most high school teams. The difference between the teams that are beating Volunteer like they are a middle school team is the coaching. Anyone can stand on the sidelines during a game, but what Volunteer needs is someone who will actually coach. After the South game, Rider blamed losing on turnovers and other misfortunes. He should have told them the real reason why Volunteer looks so bad. Everyone can see it's because he has done a poor job. I'm tired of the job that Rider and his coaching staff has done the past 3 years. Its an absolute embarrassment for this team to look that bad. This season is a reflection on the coaching staff. They are the ones working with the kids 15 hrs every week. Time for Rider to go! If he is still there, I know a few kids who will be transferring schools.

Volunteer will be lucky to score in this game. The team has actually gotten worse throughout this year. Vhs doesn't even compete anymore, they just get blown out. The coaching staff did a poor job with this years team. I still can't get over the offense the coaching staff put in. The offense doesn't give the team a chance. Volunteers defense stays on the field most of the time and that is not a good thing. The game will be ugly. My prediction is vhs 0 boone 35+. The starters for vhs shouldn't have been in the game. The score was 41 to 0! I believe its time for a change at volunteer.

I saw a glimpse of what Volunteer's offense could have looked like all season in the 2nd half of the Cherokee game. If the coaching staff can build off of last week then the Falcons will run wild on offense and score 35+ in this game. Defense still has a lot of work to do. Volunteer has a great chance to win this week.
