After giving their best shot at downgrading the Tribe's performance history, MUTT and tSSAa STILL haven't said who they are with. My guess it that their teams are one of those extremely weak teams that DB has built their overall record on?? I would say you should tuck your tail and run at this point. Pick any team you want and look at the records and you will find that most of their wins come against weaker teams. You also fail to even consider DB wins over "good teams". * With an astounding total of 754 wins against 221 losses and 28 ties to go with a playoff record of 28-30 (21 of those losses coming in the 1st two rounds), it's obvious that their overall record has been built against extremely weak competition over the years. There's really no other explanation. That doesn't mean it's a program that their fans shouldn't be proud of, but it is what it is.

I can answer that! "mutts" team is Sullivan South. Their biggest failure is that they haven't beat DB in 20 years. Nobody had even seen a flat screen TV the last time they beat the Indians. The most famous loss came in 2006. You might of heard about it. DB 44, South 0. South was favored to win that game by the way.

I have literally no ties to DB or hardly anyone in east of Cookeville at all...  I live in one of the farthest west middle tennesse counties...  and yeah... I randomly look at alot of tennessee teams and their history in football, but mainly basketball on coacht, unapproved website, tssaa, etc...  I have traveled all over the state from Cosby to Collierville watching HS sports over the past few years... I have nothing against DB or any other team... I just thought it was interesting and wanted some feed back...  I guess I could addressed this more delicately, but no need to name calling guys...

Well that is just NOT true. About 30 freshman players were NOT invited to join the team the last week of the season. I'm sure they didn't care at all.

We gave info based on our knowledge from how it's been done in the past. If Coach Haynie has chosen to handle it differently, I have no way of knowing that. It just may be that certain freshmen were selected, due to their prowess and future potential as "players". It's not a democratic vote. I understand how a parent feels bad for a player who might lose a chance to play in mop-up, to a freshmen, but if that's the biggest dissapointment or challenge a young man will face in his development, then he's living a charmed life. Just to clear things up. At the end of the freshman season, Coach Haynie (coach carter did this as well) allows any freshman that would like to practice and dress with the varsity during the playoffs to do so. It is not a requirement of the freshmen. just get some good expierence on the practice field, and start learning some of the varsity plays and varsity speed. They will NEVER take the field in a playoff game. Period. The only, and I mean ONLY exception to that is QBs, and that is only if we are in a winning blowout. Geeze, there is not need for all the hostility going on over this subject.. as for it being illegal...in what way is it illegal? and for team moral? I can assure you that the varsity starters do not even realize that the freshman are there.

Everybody gets an equal chance and no favorites are played at Nathan Hale. Just bring your hard hat and get ready to go to work.
