I havent had the opportunity to see Marion Co but its clear that the coach and players forget that Cody is the man..I dont think Alabama, Richmond, UTC, MTSU, etc... have came to the gym to see those other cats. Cant believe a 6'9 D-1 player barely touches the ball. Its pretty simple..If he doesnt get a touch everytime down the floor then you come out. As smart as he is, he passes out of double teams well and can shoot from 15ft out..

I have watched them play various Chattanooga teams for the past 6 years and I have always thought, "What raw talent they have". I heard from some friends in Jasper that the Henegar boy was thinking about returning to South Pitt but something happened to change his mind. Wonder what that was if it were even true. OP as far as losing good talent in the lower levels whose responsibility do you think it is to hold on to them?

All of the games were close. Marion lost the first game by 9 and were something like 3 of 13 from the free throw line. Those free throws could have been the difference in the ball game considering they were only down 3 late in the 4th.

 

Their second game they lost by 4 and from the sound of things the officiating in this game was terrible. Not using that as an excuse, but these holiday tournaments shouldn't be decided by the referees. It should be decided by the players and coaches.

 

Their 3rd game, they beat Washington Co. but still didn't play like they are capable.

I would pay to see you go head to head with him in an organized game in a gym and see how bad he dominates you. Don't hate on him, he has the tools to play at the next level and be very good there. At 6'8", not 6'10" yet, he has good footwork and a good stroke from outside. He is able to take most bigs out on the perimeter and then go baseline on them to the rim or just post up the smaller guys...Your boys better play better than they did tonight or he will show them what he can do...

I will give it up for Jasper they are a good team. If it wasn't for the Guyer ( sorry if mispelled ) kid they would not be as good. Being from SP all I hear about is Cody Henneger ( once again sorry if mispelled ). Everyone says he is great at 6' 10" and what 200lbs. Not taking anything away from the kid, but come on. I had to guard him in streetball and I am 6' 2" 220lbs. I could push him around there, but dont get me wrong he is alright. I would like to see him bulk up that way he could have height and body. I think if he would hit the weight room he could an awsome player.

Marion County by 10

Marion won, had a good inside and outside game . I thought a key was that more than just their "Big 3" contributed. Also the big post played with only 1 foul then 2 fouls quite a while. The final doesn't indicate how good a game it was for a long time. Marion led by 1 after a quarter, by 3 at the half and by 6-8 through most of the third. They hit a 3 near the end of the 3rd and hit three more of them in the early minutes of the fourth. The lead got as high as 20 with about 2:30 to go. Marion was better tonight but I still can see a season split. Sequatchie has to be concerned about Grundy before any rematch with Marion.

 

The JV won by 10 with 12 players seeing time on the floor and several doing well.

I hate to say it, but if Seq. don't put forth any effort to rebound, Cody will get as many rebounds as he wants. 18 & 18 is probably a little low.

Ok, i've had enough of this "y'all barely beat a muffin team" crap... Each game is different and any team can beat anybody any given night... But if you really want to break this down we can, Grundy blew Sequatchie out, Hixson in turns blows Grundy out, then Marion proceeds to beat Hixson so if that's the case Marion by 70... I really hope you realize that prediction was sarcasm, but come on people we aren't playing 'six degrees of separartion' here... Everything BigJ said was true and both benches aren't very deep with the sicknesses and other things hitting Marion. I still think Marion's big 3 is better than Sequatchie's big 3 and they will lead Marion to a close win by about 5
