  1. I am a huge Trojan fan, but we do not have the best defense in the West. Several schools are better. We have a good team on both sides of the ball. Not the best on either side.

We do have the best kids though!http://images.coacht.com/boards_tennessee/style_emoticons/default/thumb[1].gif

  2. Even when the Cavs had one of their best teams ever, and at full strength, 3 or 4 years ago, they only managed to beat an average Counts squad by a touchdown. Anyone who believes this will be more than a one touchdown affair, one way or the other, needs to stay far away from the casinos. Counts and Pratt are two of the best high school coaches in the state, both from a strategy standpoint, and their ability to motivate and get the most out of their players. Both teams will be super charged and ready to go to war. It'll be another nail biter. You can count on it!

I agree. This will be a hard fought contest between two very good teams.

  3. It is very obvious that some posters on here do not understand football.....I agree 100%. It's also very obvious that some fans judgements are clouded from being HOMERS!!!!!! It amazes me how everytime a team loses the fans always say there team makes a ton of mistakes....every fan for every teams uses that line instead of giving the opposing team credit for causing those mistakes...that line is like a broken record. I bet ive heard it about 1 million times and will most likely hear it another million times. It's all about talent and play makers...it's really that simple. It's not rocket science like some make it out to be. And just for the record..no disrespect against Haywood..but they are really not that good....Like Volunteergeneral said. I to watched the Haywood/JCM game and was not impressed with Haywood and stated so before last nights game.

Only time will tell if I am a "homer" or not. If I am........ I'm sure you will let me know. This will be a fun season for all. Good luck to EVERY team and may the best man win. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. It is very obvious that some posters on here do not understand football. Haywood is big, fast, and strong on both sides of the ball. I saw them play at JCM and last night and they made lots of improvement. Haywood has the most talent in the region. Only time will tell, but I believe that Haywood will win the region and Dyersburg will be second. I am not making any excuses we got beat last night. I also saw some great things from an extremely young team.

This Trojan team has ZERO returning starters on offense and almost pulled out a big win against a tough opponent while making a ton of mistakes. The future is bright in Trojanland!!!

  5. I think that if anyone needs to be moved up it should be Bolivar Central. With them finishing 8-4 last year and going to the state quarterfinals and losing to 3A state champ David Lipscomb is saying somethign for them last year. This year they start off the season by crushing GW Carver 41-8, a team they only beat 9-6 last year. So if any team is to be moved up it's Bolivar being moved up from that #12 spot.

I agree about Bolivar, they should be Top 5 in this poll. I also think that Dyersburg should be moved down several spots. The Trojans have a very young, unproven team. I hope that the Trojans are there at the end of the season, but we don't deserve this much hype.

  6. Coach Counce showed class as always. The score of this game could have easily been 100-0. The starters sat out most of the second half and he let off with the play calling at the start of the 2nd Quarter. The first test for these young Trojans will be this Friday at Haywood. We don't have any reason to be excited..............yet!

  7. Haywood is going to be very tough. They are big, fast, and strong. The young offense at Dyersburg will be tested for sure. The Trojans will have to play tough and extremely well to leave Brownsville with a win. If our young kids step up we can keep the game close, if not Haywood will beat us. Go Trojans!!

  8. Make no mistake Haywood is loaded again this year. They will be tough to beat in 7-3A. Covington will also make a run at the title. The Chargers will not be 2-8. 8-2 would not surprise me a bit. Crocket Co., Dyer Co., and Dyersburg are also good. This should be a fun year for 7 3A. Anybody could get beat any night.
