The TSSAA will not miss out on the ticket revenue for this Friday against Maryville. Somebody will be at the skeeter Friday night playing Maryville and I’m hoping it’s DB. ROLL TRIBE

True. That’s probably a phone call that EH will be making to the TSSAA after today’s ruling comes out. IF, it is ruled that DB advances due to the fact they didn’t quarantine. Just thinking out loud.

There’s no way this game gets played. Even if he tested on Tuesday he has to quarantine and has been around the team so they all have to. DB tried everything they could to have someone tell them it was ok to play the game. Didn’t happen. TSSAA will have no choice but to advance DB to the next round based on the State Health Dept ruling. I hate it for all involved because we all wanted to play this game. We were excited to see if we could shut down this running game. Time to get ready for the trip to Blount County and another visit to the “ skeeter”. ROLL TRIBE!!!

I too would love for DB to win but let's get real. That's not happening. Last time I checked Malik and Swafford have graduated. That was our last great chance. This team is getting better each week bit Maryvilles caliber we are not. I'm going to be conservative and guess 42-6. And that's just because of the injuries to the Rebel players. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it. Hoping for a better outcome but is just not realistic. ROLL TRIBE

There is not a blue print to beat Maryville. Check the history of Tennessee football since the arrival of coach GQ. It just doesn't happen much.

I can see the DB faithful is excited for the season to start because of the line this morning for season tickets that wasn't picked up. Heard a few say they were in line by 3:30am this morning to make sure they got tickets. I really hope the secondary has improved and learned to look for the ball instead of reading the receiver. I do believe the Tribe will be better this year!!!
From what I've seen already, they have started reacting to the ball. FINALLY!!!

Look at the Tennessee's 2015 h.s. rankings from last year.Who ranked higher in the state. Hampton or DB? See where they fall. I am sure someone on here can justify that as well.
Do you honestly think that Hampton could beat DB in any year? I like your competitive nature but living your life in a state of delusion is just sad.

That is not every local team. DB was awesome that year. The argument is started as this year or last year's team beating all locals by five. Reality is that it would not happen. That's close,but no cigar. North had a good year in 11 and 12 as well. DB would have probably won, but not as bad as they beat volunteer and central. Not by five touchdowns. I am just being a realist. Don't blow off local talent as a bunch of nobody's just because your DB fans. I bet your all's coaches would agree with that statement. They would take local teams more serious than the fans ever would.

Reality is,them whipping every school in the region except Greenville or science hill is far fetched. Maybe not in the 90s.Do you all really think DB is so great now that they could beat Elizabethton? And I will run my pie hole all I want.
Down or not, YES ! DB consistently has and would continue to roll all the teams in upper East Tennessee. Science Hill is Realy the only team that can consistently push us to the limit. That's my pie hole!!!

Are we the same DB team we were when we've had players such as Sensabaugh, Foreman, Swafford, Adonis , Gaines, and so on? Heck no. You can't expect to have those exceptional athletes every year in Kingsport but we are going to field a team and work out butts off to win. When the band marches into the stadium the excitement will start to build and by kick off you better believe the Indian pride will be in full force. This team has some talent, a lot of it young, but you have to know that we are going to be ready to go and compete. Every game has its level of anxiety filled with stories of past rivalries and game legends. The history of Dobyns Bennett football speaks for itself. Looking forward to the Vikings coming to town next Thursday but Realy looking forward to our trip to Blankenship field for game #2. ROLL TRIBE!!!

mIt is funny I keep hearing DB was not very good last year, but they did beat the State 5A runner up Sevier County whose QB is now playing in the SEC, lost in the last seconds to an Oak Ridge team that had one of the best Athletes in the State and even country! They scored 34 points and lost one game and 42 in another and lost! Make a few stops and the year would have looked a lot different! The coaches have seen where they need to be, the players have seen where they need to be! They have great leadership and put the work in! That is is why it is quite on here! Because it is shut up and play football time!
We didn't play well as a unit last year for whatever reason as a whole. This year will be different

I'm excited for the game against Tenn High because football will finally be back. It's like Christmas for us football guys. Time to see the new players and see how much better the returners have became. Tenn High always plays us well. Heck, we are the measuring stick in this neck of the woods anyway. We might have been down last year but we are getting better. We will show a great improvement over last year. And you're right, most of us old school Big East guys are still dreaming of the old Oak Ridge games and remembering the rivalry we've had with them. I can't wait to go to the "ship". Lots of old memories about that place. ROLL TRIBE

91, not to rain on your parade but don't base to much on your scrimmage with Morristown East. They are pretty bad this season and lost a previous scrimmage by 50 some points before playing you guys, from what I have been told. If the "best" athlete in the school isn't playing, then id have to wonder why, especially if his brother (a transfer from JI Burton...lol) is playing. are you all having any kind of depth chart this year or are u planning on playing certain kids on both sides of the ball again?
Some kids will play both ways. The ones that so are just to good to keep off the field. And I didn't say we were going to be state champions just that we are improved obviously over last year. ROLL TRIBE

It's almost impossible to know for sure about your team from a scrimmage but I do know of a few returners and a transfer that will make DB a lot better this year. Savon had already broken all of Hayworths weight room records from what I've been told. He was all State last year at J I Burton. I also hear that his brother who is a sophomore could be the best athlete in the school. We need him on the football field. Holt at TE will be a huge weapon if we use him. Maupin will be much improved and will have s good year both passing and running. Dee Williams looked good at WR. RB will be by committee but we will have some speed with Barrett getting some reps in the backfield. LB's are as good as we've had in a while. OL and DL both have good size and DB' s getting work from former Dallas Cowboys Gerald Sensabaugh will make a huge difference. Already noticed how the DB's are reacting to the ball correctly. Something we've not done right EVER!!!
All this and a healthy group for the year and getting a couple healthy will result in a much improved season and putting DB back in the conversation. Oh, I almost forgot. Freshman RB Keyo Taylor should be considered to be moved up to varsity. 6'0 and 216. He had the size to make the jump just as Chris Sensabaugh did a few years ago. ROLL TRIBE

Offense will be behind the defense in my opinion, Defense has all but one or two returning starters, D-Line and line backers should be as good as anyone in our conference.. that's saying something with MHS LB's but these guys are experienced, quick and smart. D-Line will be deep with addition of Wadsworth and Holt to support Blair and Pierson. Defensive backs are experienced but from the past year I'm not sure if it's good experience... Gerald Sensabaugh has been working with the coaches and players to add some in game insight... appears to be working. O-Line is big and strong , however, will deal with some nagging injuries hoping to get well before the season starts. QB has had a good start in 7 on 7 and has good athletic ability, can run and throw and may even play a little D, Backup is Redwine a sophomore with good talent ...Running backs are young and inexperienced but Hicks and Barrett have some raw talent. Receiving crew will be done by committee, Newcome is a question with leg injury. WR's should be lead by Patton, Whetsel, Brown and Diminick should get time with Holt at TE / H back. Others to watch, Jaynes, Polinski, Buchanan and both Cornett boys.
