  1. Come on Turtle.... Defend your turf! Tell us the logical reason for why they misunderstood the traditional post-game "love-thy-neighbor egg toss". Tell us how all the verbal communicating was misunderstood as an insult. Surely all they were doing was expressing their urban style of desire for a rematch in the playoffs and a safe trip home.

Dear Kingston fans from the dairy friendly countryside... You are suppose to be gracious parking-lot-paying visitors at Austin East who leave the field in shame when you lose. It is part of the "rub your nose in it " sportsmanship that comes with the territory of losing at AE. Whether it's during pre-game warm-ups or post game celebrations...Tradition says that you need to be reminded that they are better than you and especially when you leave the stadium. You're suppose to be the bigger person, turn the other cheek, and just smile at them when they raise their finger reminding you they're #1. Be an optimist and remember "When life hands you an egg... make an Omelet?"

Thanks for documenting my case and point exactly....NO Class...You must have been the instructor for How to Carry Yourself with Class and Sportsmanship 101. Good job man- Don't you also teach upper division Theft? Those poor young men- they REALLY DO need some role models and someone to teach them how to act. It's evident they didn't learn it from you. Sad. Sad.

  2. Even though Kingston is more deserving (then again, who am i to judge), AE takes this in a close game.

    AE-17

    KHS-14

Not to say AE isn't deserving, but the Kingston team this year is a once in a school history kind of team. They've come a long way and every game they lose has been extremely close

Also, (and Turtle, this is just my opinion) AE doesn't show much class. Doesn't mean they don't have a good football team, but they need to win with some class.

LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH CLASS AE SHOWS- They threw bottles, trash, and eggs at the Kingston Team while they were walking to their buses 2 weeks ago. They were throwing verbal insults right along with all the junk they were throwing. From what I hear it continued after the team was loaded up on the buses. They also bombarded the Kingston Band buses with eggs. Looks like AE can neither win or lose with any class. AE DOESN'T DESERVE TO WIN. They need to learn how to act. GO KINGSTON...It's your time- and what a deserving group of kids.

  3. Very impressive. I have been to two games this year, and they really get into the game. I guess the outstanding band does not hurt matters either.

On behalf of Kingston fans, thank you very much. The kids are great and the band is one of the best!

We think the football team is pretty great also!

  4. I will have to say Kingston in a close one ... even though its at AE ... I almost went AE but their offense has struggled .. if Kingston can keep AE from making a big play they win with ball control ... im gonna say .. 13-6 Kingston ...

    KINGSTON WILL BRING IT!!!

  5. You also left out a big factor in the Kingston Defense/Offense- Alex Roberts. Im told he has over 90 tackles so far and over 400 rushing yards. We could see a heck of a lot more from him if Coach King would stop running him the exact same fullback trap EVERY play. This kid's talent gets passed over way too much because of the position he plays. I have coached him and have been watchin him since youth league days and now, just like back then, he is a tough player and makes a BIG impact every game he plays. Give this young man some respect. Kingston wants the win in a BIG way. They deserve it.

  6. Gangs all here again. TadVols, did some sniffing around. Sanders kid, the kicker transferred in from Stone when the budget fiasco had those kids sitting through the 1st 2 games. Apparently, he physically moved to Knoxville, no sitting. Hood kid has been living in Knox for last 4-5 years. The ones that sting the public schools are Harrison Smith (Notre Dame) Conner Irwin (Duke), Dustin Tait (Buffalo), Zak Tait (Wherever he chooses) all Bearden kids. Now you could say the same for Aaron Douglas (UT) who moved to Mville from Farragut, Brent Burnette (MTSU), moved from Anderson Co, to Mville. Brian Sommers (UTM) Karns to Alcoa. Kyrus Lanxter (KY) moved from Bearden to Alcoa. To be fair the Coulter kid who is a D1 prospect, and Smith were Catholic feeder kids all the way through. But could you imagine how good Bearden would have been with H. Smith, Tait/Tait, Lanxter, and oh.. the Andew Kirkpatrick kid who started at LB for 2-3 yrs at OR? He was a Bearden kid through youth ball, as was Antonio Hammilton at Fulton, and on, and on.

As far as Catholic vs. Kingston, I have been on the Vic King bandwagon for a good 2 years now. He has those kids understanding the Wing T, they tackle really well, and they have some good skill guys. Have a DL, by the name of Stout that is just that, and the Sams kid is a beast. I think Kingston plays better at home. Game is at Catholic. I do like how many seniors Kingston has this year, and think that will be a big advantage over Catholic. They have 4 soph OL, and 4-5 sophs starting on D. I too, like Turtle feel that Kingston might be the more "hungry" team, and that it might actually do Catholic some good to lose? Who knows? Too early to pick it. Catholic has a website that the Max whatever comes after that guy has linked to before. I don't know how to link. Its knoxcatholicfootball.com they do a preview of opponents. Pretty good stuff.

    ruse?

  7. This should be a good football game. Give me some predictions?

I said it in the beginning...nobody can seem to give the Jackets their due...Their defense is SOOO TOUGH...Their backs Alex Roberts and James Sams are TOUGH....It's KINGSTON'S TIME TO SHINE FRIDAY NIGHT.....

  8. You know Volz, some people have criticized you for your statements here...but I've got to say to a certain extent I must agree with you. The OT's played out at Kingston's end of the field and your student section (along with your band...I'm a sucker for a good band, and Kingston has a good band!!!) followed their team up and down the sideline all game long. Their intensity was awesome. Besides AC's fans and student section and "Crazies" Kingston ranks as one of the top in the region. There was THUNDER. Contratulations to both teams and coaches for a hard fought game and for never quitting.

I'm glad to see there are some AC fans and players with some class. AC has done nothing but trash talk and send nasty text messages to Kingston fans and players. Last year they even went so far as to throw urine on the Kingston cheerleaders. Rivalry is great and school spirit is great, but sinking that low in the gutter is not what school spirit is all about. It takes carrying yourselves with class and dignity to make a great team, win or lose. AC seems to be falling short in that area.

  9. kingston's garbage this year especially the backfield mostly sams LA big

Kingston's garbage??? Excuse me buddy, but apparently you are having a little trouble seeing. It would take someone pretty ignorant to the game of football to not recognize that there is some big talent on the Kingston team. Alex Roberts played the heck out of football Friday night. He had about 14 or 16 tackles, a couple of hurries and almost an interception. He also had some good runs. Granted the line wasn't doing their job, but you're waaay out of line calling that garbage. Sams and Stout are talented players but just didn't happen to bring their best Friday night. What they lacked, Roberts made up for. Did you stop to think that you are trash talking kids which in fact most times can't help A LOT of poor coaching decisions that are made on the field and at practice? There was good effort AND mistakes on both sides. But to call Kingston garbage- take a look at yourself man. You made a mistake.

  10. You need to add Alex Roberts and Chris Stout to the tough list. Roberts led the team with over 100 tackles last season. Everyone he hits, KNOWS they have been hit and I'm betting most are still feeling it the next day. He also does a fine job running the ball. Stout is big and rough and hits hard. Guys don't want to get hit by him. He has dropped some weight this year, and looks to be a little quicker. These guys are the backbone of Kingston Football. We're going to miss them next year. Look for them to be playing in college.

  11. This week we'll vote on the Class 3A favorites in each region

Don't everyone be so quick to count the boys in Kingston out. They have some big play makers returning this year...Alex Roberts, James Sams, Chris Stout-three of the top players in the region. The Jackets had both Catholic and AE beat last season. Coaching errors lost both games for them. Call Kingston the "sleeper" if you want to, but rumor has it that they will give some teams a "wake-up" call. Catholic and Fulton lost quite a few key players, so young teams could possibly be a factor at play-off time. It's going to be interesting!
