  1. Farragut press says we had 33 attempts for 18yds! Thats got to be some kind of record. That also tells me its not the running backs fault. The line has to do its job or nothing gets done. Plain and simple. Where's the mighty "undefeated freshman" team now??? Thats all we heard the last few years was wait till they get to be varsity players. Mostly from the parents I might add. What we lack in size needs to be made up in speed. You are absolutely right on about the fans, they are the 12th man on the team. Is #44, Zach Kounts I believe, still playing? I thought he was supposed to be our power back to compliment Toliver. May need to play some both ways.

Say what ya want, I still support and respect these guys for giving it their all. And so should you!!

  2. First of all, I hope Thomas Cook is OK. That had to be the worst hit I've seen in high school ball in a long time, if not ever. It was legal, but a CHEAP SHOT, ala Warren Sapp!!! I'm sure what goes around will come around.

The dog's D line looked like a jail break most of the night, with our QB running for his life. D did a pretty good job of holding Young. He seemed pretty PO'd most of the game. Glad to see our O start a passing game this season. Our running backs can slice and dice but they aren't going to be able to break through on the dive like Brooks did all last year. They just don't have the strength or weight for it. I really hope the Patriots can turn things a round this week!

  3. what is track doing on a football board?

what about mccash quitting as def. cor.

seems that their will be a new direction all around with the football team.

Didn't take long to find a job either. From what I understand Lamar Brown, can you say MO WEST HC, was very excited to hire McCash to his staff.

  4. Congrats to all the Patriots advancing to the next level. Hit those books boys... football will be a full time job in college. The new staff at UTC will make things interesting this next year.

By the way, Pats fans, an honest question: did Brooks (and the other Patriot players) play against South in the scrimmage to start the year last season? Or were they involved with another sport or injuries or something? I dont recall seeing anyone of this description toting the rock. Not being an smart***. I was just surprised when I heard the good news of all the Patriots moving on to college ball. Plesantly surprised and it is very good news. Again, congrats Brooks and all!

Patriots usually don't do very well in scrimages. Just ask the Farragut players that scrimaged them last year and then played them in the play offs. Completely different team. Most of the starters didn't play much either against South for fear of injuries. Which became a nightmare early on in the season. By the last game we were down to our 3rd QB. Not being smart either, but Brooks was in the knoxs new paper, morristown and jeff city paper as player of the week several times. IIRC he was the 2nd leading rusher in 1-5A 2yrs in a row (2nd by just 30+yds this year) and 6th overall in the East TN area for all regions according to the Knoxs news paper. McFall would have probably given him a good run for his money had he not broke his leg in the 2nd game of the season.

  5. YOU WANT TO TALK BOUT PLAY CALLING THE ONLY TIME EAST EVER DONE ANYTHING, IS WHEN THEY RAN OFF OF ANDERSON COUNTY FB CHAD COLEMAN BUTT,THEN AFTER HE BLOCKS HIS REAR OFF ALL DAY, AND TWICE YOU HAVE IT AT 4TH AND INCHS ON THE 1FT LINE, AND YOU BRING HIM OUT, AND PUT TWO SLOW LINEMAN IN, AND GET STOOD UP AT THE LINE, YOU HAND IT OFF TWICE TO HIM IN THOSE SITUATIONS, GET THE WIN, GIVE HIM THE MVP OF THE GAME FOR THE EAST, AND GO ON, BUT EAST HEAD COACH WAS FROM MIDDLE TN IF THAT TELLS YOU ANYTHING

Is chad playing for anyone next year?

  6. I understand its for "individual players." GEEZE...Forgive me for asking. I'm not from your region. Didn't know. NOW I DON'T WANT TO KNOW! THANK YOU!

P.S. There are 6'220lb tailbacks in the east.

Read what he said MORON. THERE AREN'T MANY. HE DIDN'T SAY THERE AREN'T ANY. WHERE DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL? Most players like to fuge, lie, ect...on thier stats. Like being 5'10-200lbs and saying their 6'1" 225, running a 4.6 when they do good to get a 4.9 or a 35 on vert when they do good to get a 27. My point is don't believe everything you read on the players own site. By the way, Brooks is the real deal.

  7. UT played Hargrave Military Academy this past Thursday in a junior varsity game, winning 37-20. Hargrave Military is a junior college athletic program out of Virginia, and came into the game 10-0 on the season. From what I understand, UT played the majority of their non-starting personnel, not just underclassman.

Here is a link to his roster information. #88 Phillip Tritapoe (Sr.)

Included on the page are his physical attributes, college journey to the Tennessee program, and high school accomplishments while at Dobyns Bennett.

He meant that Tritapoe could have transferred somewhere else, say a DI-AA or DII school and made an immediate impact and garnered significantly more playing time. However, he opted to take his chances at the University of Tennessee and was successful in earning a roster spot, showing that hard work and determination is still rewarded. I believe he should still have two more years of eligibility.

I also noticed when looking over the Vols roster that Lester Bailey, former Elizabethton Cyclone standout, is a member of the Vols. Lester is listed as a 5'7'', 190 lbs., Junior, Wide Receiver. Maybe we'll get to see a couple local boys playing on television in coming years.

Thanks. It's good to see local boys at UT.

  8. I saw where former Indian Phillip Tritapoe had a sack in the UT JV game last night. Congrats to a fine young man. It takes a tough kid with a big heart to do what he's doing at UT. Could be playing small college ball somewhere but is working his tail off to be a part of the Big Orange. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Would you mind explaining that? Not being smart just wondering what you meant.

  9. Waco has to play the tough guy role on here, but trust me folks I know what I saw. Inner Circle members can attest to this. Waco tried to crash our meeting and steal a membership, and it wasn't happening. I'll swear to it. No, we don't go to the mancave, we reserve a room at Meadowview (you would know, you followed us). Our reservations were under the title, "McMinn 28 DB 24." I don't know...it just felt right.

WACO WANTS TO JOIN THE INNER CIRCLE!!!!!!

But obviously only if he can be the "center of attention". Get my drift? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  10. You can watch most of the McMinn highlights of the game at this link.

    Amazing win by the cherokees.

    Go Tribe!!!!

Nice web site!!! Nice video too. I especially liked it at the 1min and 17 second (1:17)mark. Which clearly shows a the DB left guard doing a below the knee chop block!!! WOW!!! So now we know, it is a legal play only when DB does it. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. Absolutely. And not for the reasons most might think. DB always has a great team and the only way you get better is by playing those teams. However, I would not like to see any more "tests" with the refs like we saw up there. They total ruined the game by being the center of attention. Honestly the best called games I saw all season were in Knoxville, Karns and Bearden, with exception of the one we had at home against Cocke County. It's like night and day between the refs down there and up here. They let the kids play, both sides I might add, and only threw the hanky when needed.

But back to your question. Yes! Its a long standing rivalry that always draws a big crowd and should continue. However, I understand from the DB faithful on here that will not happen after our last meeting.

    What do you think?

  12. The lack of football knowledge on these boards shouldn't be as remarkable to me as it is, but I guess it frames this as what it is....a "fans" board. (Read-they don't really know the game, they just have opinions). Understand this folks, the play I assume you are talking about is the taking of the safety at the end of the game. It was brilliant and EVERY team in the country that is coached at all has it in their book. The object is to intentionally hold knowing that you are giving up the two points. If you hold well, the play can take between 10 and 20 seconds off of the clock. If the other team is, A.) stupid enough to take the holding penalty, you just do it again and eat more clock....or B.) if the other team retaliates in frustration and gets a personal foul due to the obvious holding, the penalties off-set and you still do it again....eating up even more time. The coaches told me that everyone that they know in coaching does this and has for 30 years. They said you get to use it about once every 3 or 4 years. D-B ate what, 25 or 30 seconds off of the clock? That was exactly what they practiced. You can't account for letting some guy rip off a 75 yard return. If they had tackled him, McMinn would have had 37 seconds to get in field goal range. D-B wins. You all are welcome to your opinions, but please know that educated people in the game are shaking their heads at you.

You are correct. However this goes back to a region game eariler in the season where where DB fans were upset about the way they were being blocked. Perfectly legal as well, but they just went on and on and on about it. They tried to smear the reputation of several players and the coaching staff. Chased posters onto others threads to enterject their smartellic remarks. So you see there is more to it than meets the eye. And due to the arrogant nature of most (not all) DB fans on this site, I assure you had this play been the other way around there would be alot more than 30+pages on this subject. More like 130+.

  13. I called it a bush league play great guru.At least there wasn't any low chop blocks going on like you boys from Jeff. Co. like to do. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> I am done with this thread,it is a joke.Close this thing Darren.

I see those type of blocks every game I watch. Your stunt however, never heard of that before.

    DB-We do what ever it takes. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Funny how all these DB fans want their own thread shut down. I say leave up!!!! And yes, just as you arrrogant works of art followed every JC thread for weeks and stirred up crap....so will I.

Anyone have film of this incident that can be posted on the net???? I'm sure we would all love to see it.

  14. In the words of WACJACO and DBPLOWBOY2:

DB is an absolute disgrace to region one! There should be film sent to the TSSAA to show them just how DB tried to cheat. There should be an immediate investigation to see if the coaches told these players to do such a dispecable act. These coaches should fired! This program should be put on probation.

Thanks guys, couldn't have said it better myself.
