silverdalefan might as well change his name to templehater, rumorstarter, or Iliketogossip

I've never known any Temple fans to get on here and run their mouths. Stop knocking Temple, Middleton is a great team. Why doesn't anybody stop giving crap to the losing team and just congratulate the winning team. Good job Middleton. Temple was 34-2 this season so unless you are from McCallie (wait, Temple killed them later) or Middleton then you have nothing to say about Temple. The Temple players were crushed after the game like any team would be who makes it this far only to lose. Have some class or stop posting!!!!!!!!!!!

Great season Grace!!!! I feel bad for Johnny and Evan, but I saw you guys play several times this year and you are great. Way to come together after a rough start to the season. To the returning Eagles, good luck next year!!!!
-
Good job, Grace, on whipping CCS by 25. But you gotta remember, Temple beat CCS by 35 earlier this year when CCS had their point guard and Caleb only scored 11. Tomorrow night should be a great game and another classic in this super rivalry. Good luck to both teams. My pick: Temple by 7
PS. Who else proposes we move this game to somewhere closer than stinkin' Sale Creek??!!!!
-
Grace will be up for this one more than CCS will. They will be dying for redemption after the last meeting and they are ready for another shot at Temple after playing them so close last week. If Dilts and Jeffery Smith keep up their level of play, Grace wins this one and sets up another classic matchup with Temple on Friday. If those two don't show up (and I think they will), it will be another big win for CCS.

This was the best game I've been to all year. Grace got excellent production from Dilts and Smith, great job to both of you. Caleb was his usual impressive self, proving he is deserving of Mr. Basketball. But this night belonged to Zach Mouw. He finished with 18 points (all in the 2nd half!!!!) and 16 rebounds. Unbelievable!!!!!! Great job Zach!!!!! I do think these teams will meet again in the Region finals, and if so, whichever of them has to play on the road at Substate will give some home team a run for their money and probably beat them. Good luck to both teams.

I think they give the award out a week or two after state. So yes, it could come down to who has the best post-season. Since Temple is the favorite to win state, I give the edge to Caleb. I have not seen any of the other two players, but its hard to imagine either one of them doing more for his team than Caleb does for Temple. Plus he is impossible to guard.

Dilts works harder and is stronger than Carter. Dilts also has a more complete game and more experience. I think Carter knows the importance of this game no matter how young he is. But the reasons Dilts starts over him are obvious. All Carter does on D is block shots. As tall as he is, he should grab a rebound on every missed shot, but Dilts is much more aggressive.
-
Speaking about taking out aggression, Temple is none too happy about the "celebration" by Grace last season at the mad house on Vance Ave. And Eaglemaniac (who everyone seems to agree has lost his mind) is threatening to do it again??!!! Believe me pal you won't get the chance. No offense to Grace, but Temple will win if they play like they are capable of. Grace probably will get their revenge on CCS in Regions, but Temple is a few levels above CCS this season.

As a Temple fan, JP worries me more as a player than Davis. Davis is great, but Johnny plays harder and is more consistent (exception-Tues vs Boyd). Temple is in no way overrated, and I think they will be motivated for this one. My pick: Crusaders 68 Eagles 56. As for the comment about CCS having a chance in region against Temple, forget about it. Temple won by 10 the second meeting, but didn't play well offensively. Yes, CCS held Caleb to 11 points the first meeting, but Temple still won by 35.

Here are stats of significance for Temple: (Points are accurate, everything else is real close)
Caleb Skogen: 29 points, 8 assists, 4 steals, 4 rebounds, 4 dunks
Sean Wadley: 17 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds
Seth Skogen: 9 points, 5 rebounds
Stephen Cudd: 5 steals

Temple plays in class A because that is what is required of a school that size. Temple does not recruit because if they did, their enrollment would be through the roof from athletes wanting to go there because of the quality of athletics at Temple. If they make it to state this year it will be the fourth year in a row; not many other schools can say that. And the football program has gone 13-7 in its first two seasons playing several TSSAA schools, and they will join a TSSAA region this season with a chance to impress a lot of people. What high school student athlete wouldn't want to go to a school like that??? STOP BEING JEALOUS OF CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS WITH QUALITY ATHLETIC PROGRAMS!!!!!!!!!!!
-
This is not A vs AAA. This is where the privates should be playing, and the ratio of athletes to students are very similiar for these schools, except for the fact that Ooltewah has never advertised in the Free Press for new recruits. I am predicting the Owls in this one in a close one! thumb
I can't believe people still accuse Temple of recruiting. That is rediculous!!!!!! But I won't go any furthur into that now. Ooltewah won at Temple last season against a young Crusader team. But I think the extra year's worth of experience will give Temple the win. My pick: Temple 73 Ooltewah 62.

Last year at Regions, SP played Temple close for three quarters before Temple pulled away in the fourth. Temple is obviously much improved, but if SP is at all improved, they could at least give teams like Temple and Grace a challenge. Plus they've already beat Lookout Valley once this season, and could do it again this week.
-
Caleb had 28 points. Seth had 28 and 10 boards. Zack had 13 boards for Temple. Those are 100% accurate.
-
Coach Brown is also the JV coach at Temple and they only have one loss this season. He is a great guy who knows and loves bball. I'm glad he's with Temple. Go Greg!!!!!!!!
-
Of course he's wrong. Every once in a great while a bad call might change a one point game, but Temple won by 11, hardly any credit goes to the refs. The foul count was very even the entire game. Skogen should win Mr. Basketball and he will after Temple wins state.
-
I wasn't even looking forward to this game until I read what they're saying. now I wish it was tonight. As a Temple fan, I was worried about CCS, LV, and McCallie, but since this is a post about Pickett Co, I'll speak of it. Temple is the fastest team in the state (class A) by far and by halftime, Pickett Co will be so out of breath from chasing Caleb, Seth, and Dee, Temple will play its bench. As for Temple's "weak" schedule, I think CAK is pretty good, Grace was on its way to state until Van Horn left, and we still haven't played CPA or Ooltewah. oh yeah, and our closest win was ten points. Temple 80 Pickett 60.

Hey KCork, haven't seen you in forever. Are you coming to this TTU invite? Who knows what about Lighthouse???
-
At least 7 of the guys for Temple play football also, but that didn't seem to matter this year. I wish all the crybabies would stop whining about Temple being overrated. If your team followed up two consecutive gold balls with a final four trip, then you can talk. Until that happens, show some class. Temple will win state in 2005!!
-
Foul trouble could be a problem for Temple too. Sometimes the guards play overly aggresive on defense and end up hurting themselves. Most games, Temple only plays 7 guys a night too. I believe Temple will play hard, but the difference will be if the Crusaders play smart. My pick: a smart Temple team wins by 7, but it will be a great game.

Just in case anyone else was confused (because I was) it was Jake Skogen who dunked hard (twice I believe) at CPA last year. But yes, Caleb and Seth both can throw down too. I would love to see a Temple-CPA championship, and I think a lot of fans would too. Good luck to all. Have a great week in the 'boro. GO CRUSADERS!!!!!!

Methinks that eaglemaniac is enjoying Temple's trouble's just a tad too much. Just look around, pal. The view from the top is nice, but it never lasts. Your school may not have to deal with violations, at least I hope they don't. But this doesn't mean that they won't have their down years too. You should never glory in another's difficulties.
