  1. The two absentee players wouldnt play if the coach does the right thing and I think he will. I am impressed with what Coach Spivey has done in one year. The guy has alot of class and will do whats best for the team in the long run. The two players threw the coach and the team under the bus. I really dont think it will matter if they play because Gleason is peaking and South Fulton is not.

    Gleason by 14

Although I don't agree with the trip, this was planned and out of the coaches hands THIS year. He has said it would be different next year. The two kids had the trips already paid for and it would not be right to punish them for what was planned before Spivey was even the coach. They should play this week and they will make a difference. We have to get some offense going or we will not win another game.

  2. I don't think Lake Co or South Fulton either one turned the ball over much tonight..I remember one interception by each team..Don't think either team lost a fumble so the game was dominated by Lake Co..not because of turnovers,etc..Just curious..based on what South Fulton saw tonight..how did Lake Co look compared to the other teams you've played...I said I wasn't going to bad mouth or trash South Fulton if Lake Co won and it was just Lake Co's night..South Fulton..You can still make the playoffs...Just have to win 1 of the two remaining games..And both have excellent teams..Have to shake tonight's loss off and get back on track..Good luck the next two games!

Lake co has a very classy coach...he was very merciful late in the 4th...Lake Co. Surprised me very much. We could not do anything right fri night. The Gleason game is a must win game. Good luck to Lake Co. in the playoff hunt

  3. I think Greenfield was a much tougher team than UC especially in both first halfs of each game...If both teams play the way they did against us in the first half for the whole game Greenfield wins 32-28 (both first halfs in each game X 2) hows that for a stat? Good luck to both teams but I will be rooting for Greenfield..GO JACKETS /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

  4. I have to admit I don't know much about Lake Co. except what I have read on here...can they win if they don't pass heavily? If the pass heavily can our secondary keep up? Our secondary IMO did a decent job angainst the pass in the UC game and especially the Greenfield game against a really good receiver...they had him double and at times tripple covered and he still caught the ball...not bad D but very good O. Gut feeling says we can handle it.

    GO BIG RED

  5. Ok sorry I've been busy most of the week with little time for coacht...Our secondary is alot better than it was earlier this year and I'm confident we can stop any run Lake Co can muster against us. I am concerned a little about our offense but I've been told the coach has promised to do things different this week. Once the game was out of reach last week the defense did let up and that led to another score for UC. I believe they will not let that happen this week. I am also a little aprehensive about the "back yard ball" LC has played in a few games this year. We must continue to pursue the play on the back side, attack the QB and we did not do that very well last week. One more thing...this is our home coming and SF has not won a home coming game in a few years and they are due a home coming win. Hope we have another fair called game this week.

    GO RED DEVILS

  6. I would like to say congrats to UC on the win Friday night. I thought we contained Speed pretty weel at time. What killed us was the pitch. Speed runs that offense well. We shut him down though in the first quarter pretty good. Our defense played solid though against the passs. I beleived we picked Speed off about 3 or 4 time and ony gave up about 1 big gain on a pass all night. Our offense had success in the first half but when we turned the ball over near halftime down inside the 20 was a momentum killer.

I think UC fans would agree with me that the refs were horrible. UC had over 100 yards in penalties and SF had nearly 100. Wish they could have let them play more. I think both us and UC had just as many athletes and were pretty even for the most part. The pitch from Speed to Nicks or Worley just killed us.

I beleive SF gain alot of respect from some of the Union City fans that were at the game. If SF can put this loss behind them then i think they can beat LC and Gleason. But if they let this get to them much like it did to us in 2004 when we went 4-0 and lost a close on to Bruceton then we will be sitting at home come playoff time.

Good luck to UC on the rest of your season.

Sorry Alumni but I disagree with you...This was a big game and I thought the refs called what they saw. They might have called alot of close pennalties (could have been one, or not been one) but they were very consistant and I don't think it was one sided. In other words they were fair and called on both sides everything they saw. Even though two of them probably cost us 14 points, the penalty was there and they called it! If they didn't call those it might have been a very close game, but I don't want to win because of a non-call. IMO they did a good FAIR job.

OK enough about UC...Here comes Lake CO. and we will be ready for them. I predict SF wins and accomplishes it's goal of making the playoffs!

    GO RED DEVILS!

  7. Come on now NOTfromUC, I kind of understand what you are saying about not being concerned early in a game but, LAUGHING at the opponent. That's just wrong there!! Both of our teams have hammered some opponents this season and in the past but, it just ain't right to laugh at them. One of these days the shoe will be on the other foot.

Thats all right duckman...Ask a neutral observer...Butchie was there and he will tell you they were not laughing.

  8. I'm not sure when a comfortable win becomes a "beat down". I guess it's just an age thing. South Fulton has come a long way in the last 5 seasons. Congrats to them and coach Spivey for this season's success.

SF may or may or may not see another loss or two this season but, I'm thinkin' ya'll will be in the playoffs comfortably. Then every team for itself. All the best to SF and 7A!!

Thanks...We WILL be there...as will yall...Just wondering who gets 4th spot?

  9. Yes devildad it was a beat down, considering no one even cared that SF scored the first 7. If you would of looked at our fans no one's face even changed unless they were laughing.

IMO it is not a beat down if the mercy rule did not come into effect...but you can call it what you want..by the way if it was such a beat down why did'nt 2nd string play the 4th quarter? ... Guess he had too much respect for what we could have done huh...

  10. I Beg To Differ, His Yardage Wasn't Up The Middle.

I agree, he did not gain anything up the middle, and did not gain much on the outside until late in the 3rd Q against SF. SF defense gave up too soon but was very discouraged when they could not produce any offense. Take away a couple stupid penalties on long 3rd down and hitting the punter on 4th down the score should have been a lot closer. Not making any excuses just pointing out we should have kept the game much closer. Does Greenfield have a chance? Yes but like SF they can't make any critical mistakes and must pass pass pass. If they do it will be a close game.

  11. Now just like everyone already knew, it just happened. Union City won and finally busted that big head of South Fulton. Welcome back to football South Fulton. Maybe next year you can just play yourselves and feel better.

Sorry, You have no class and you are no longer worth replying to!

  12. Hard loss for SF. Congrats to UC for a good win and sole 1st place in region 7. For those of you who thought SF would be blown away guess you found out differently. The score could have easily been 14-7. There were two dumb penalities on us that continued their drive for a score when we had em at 4th down. Union City did a good job shutting down our offense, but they had a lot of trouble with our defense. This was by far the best refed game we have had this year, to the refs...good job. SF will come back next week and win against Lake Co..

Hey Butchie...Glad I got to meet ya. Wish we had had a different outcome, but all is well. We will be 8-1 when we make it to McKenzie! Hope you had a good time.

  13. The best looking guy in the corner of the end sone!

    Or at least the biggest!

SF fans have heavy hearts with the passing of Coach Akers. He was the offensive coordinator during SF's glory days in the last 70's and early 80's. My God comfort the Akers family during this time.

We will keep him and his family in our prayers...

  14. A lot of fans feel stongly about their coach. Who thinks they have the best coach in TN.???I love Coach Sharp from Lewis Co. I think he is the best .

Coach SPIVEY should be the TN Titans Coach of the Year...I'm sure yall have heard of him! He takes a team that has only won 2 games (1 by forfiet) in the last two years and is now 6-0, ranked 10th this week in AP poll. What he has done in just a few months is nothing short of amazing! He is a Christian coach that knows how to treat these kids with respect and he has earned my respect for years to come. No matter what the rest of the season holds for him he has my vote.

  15. My last post might have seemed to bash Colton Speed. That was not my intent before anyone takes it wrong. I was trying to say SF has many good athletes all doing their part and working together to make this team win. Where in UC I all I have heard about is Speed. I know he is a good athlete but either the rest of the team is in his shadow or thats all they have is Speed. If there are other standouts lets hear about them...

  16. Whew.... A Class Trip Or Family Related? Either Way This Has Gotta Hurt.

This is a class trip that was pre arranged before Spivey came to SF. We all new this was going to happen before the season even started. The coach has been working on this known problem all season and he does have a plan. Will it hurt? Sure. Can we still win? Yes...I believe...because we work as a team and no one individual makes this team...unlike the Union City Speeds oops I mean Tornados. That will be their demise...hehehe...cats out of the bag!
