  1. Play calling was pretty bad tonight. I know it makes it hard when your top two TB’s are out but when you have the ball second and goal on the 5 in a 7-7 game late then you use your 6’4 QB to sneak it three plays in a row if necessary.

Then down 14-7 and deep in Central territory another second and five and you hand it to the fourth string TB. Then on third and fourth down you throw.

Very confusing but hopefully the play caller will learn from his mistakes.

Need to probably rest both TB this week and get them ready for Cleveland.

Tabor is not in the running.  Ross and Mcurry as your lead candidates?  Sasquatch must've been hurting for interest in the job. Yikes!

If there is any truth to this, having two final candidates as guys who have led teams to state championship games and one with a winning percentage around 85% would not really mean they are “hurting” for  interest.

Sequatchie will start off 0-2 for the first time in 4 years. I’m not impressed with the hire of Watt. They’ve so much size, but I’ve never seen a more soft football team. Like I said Sequatchie will miss Caine.

Sequatchie missed out on a great hire. We will be very average for several years. MC in a close one.

  4. You cant use the foul and free throw comparison as to how a game was actually officiated. Some teams play more aggressive. Some press more than others, play tight man to man, etc. What I saw during the Upperman/Macon game was a very poor officiated game. The last call on the three was horrible, but so was the non call just prior to that. That would have sent possibly Macon's best free throw shooter to the line with a chance to win the game. Levy was by far the best player on the court, but she should have had several fouls called on her that wasn't. The last shot was not a walk. It was a great shot by a great player. I am in agreement that the TSSAA needs to police its officials more.

  5. I have no horse in this race so I have a complete unbiased opinion. The foul called on the three was a bad call. What's lost in this is the foul down low before the three. I believe it was #24 for Macon who was clearly fouled on the shot and it wasn't called. Correct me if I am wrong but #24 was like 12-12 in free throws? If that foul had been called then she most likely makes the free throws and Macon probably wins. As far as what the coach did, it should have been a technical foul. Plain and simple. Not only leaving the coaching box by coming to half court but also by putting your hands on the ref. I thought the refs struggled the entire game. Upperman' s best player should have had several fouls called on her, two charges for sure. Both teams played great, the refs looked like little league refs. Regardless, Upperman won the game. Congrats on back to back titles.

  6. Yeah and they were in the county landfill when he tucked tail and ran. What kind of coach, after most of his assistant coaches have been arrested for vandalism, up and quits during quarterfinals week? A guilty one! Ever seen a football team play a quarterfinal without a coach? The kids were having to call a lot of their own plays because stand-ins didn't know the offense. That's what FC has hired. The players brought MC back, and have continued to long after his debacle.

I would have to disagree with this statement. I saw Marion in 2011 play. It was the worst Marion team I had ever seen. The next year they made the quarterfinals and lost to the eventual state champions. Regardless of what happened, he made Marion football relevant again. Franklin will win immediately with this guy.

  7. Get em Beerman. Whatever is wrong at Grundy is obviously pretty deep. Sounds like a clown show up there. As for the valley teams this season. You have to give Sequatchie the nod because they beat the team that beat Marion County. I actually think all 3 teams were all very close to each other this season.

    I would agree

  8. Old Pirate says Jasper is 2nd. SP & Jasper would beat SC. Most in the know fellers realize the Pirates lost their game far more than Sc winning. BTW, Both know.... It's Coming.... Jest like it is suppose to be! Yep, recon so

What you would have done and what you did are two different things though. So, based on the results of what actually happened Sequatchie would be #1 this past season correct?

    From Stephen Hargis' twitter account:

"I asked if he was ok and he didn't respond so I just stayed still and didn't want to move," Jackson said. "My team said get up but I said..

"No, this man is hurt bad. I think he's knocked out and maybe worse. So I just laid there with him unconscious on top of me."..

We all wanted to win today but at the end of the day he has family to go home to and his life to live and I didn't want to hurt him worse"

Jackson admitted to being emotional while lying on the ground with Zeman. Asked about tears on his face as he came off the field, he said...

"I was just praying for him man. I was worried for him."

Unbelievable show of sportsmanship & just being heads up beyond his age. Well done Tristian Jackson. Zeman was talking and moving afterward.

    First class!!
