  1. GREAT GAME AT NCS TONIGHT!!!!!

NCS beats Westmoreland on a buzzer beater in OT by Jr. Dakota Priest.

NCS wins 67-65 with help from 14 3PT's.

    Matt Ogle had 19 with 4 3's.

    Dakota Priest had 20 with 4 3's.

EJ Perry from Westmoreland had 28 with 5 3's.

    Any other scores to report.

  2. 10A should be a very competitive district this year, with alot of exciting games. CA will definitly be the team to beat, the twins have played AAU ball all summer and will only have grown in skills. NC's 3 point shooters will be hard to handle, it will take some very good defense to stop them, HC, as said earlier, has a new coach that comes from a very very good team, he will bring new life to them, I think that they will be very competitive this year. I have heard thru the grapevine that McEwen has lost 2 players to injuries, and they will be out for the first part of the season..... can anyone confirm this?? I don't really know anything about any of the other teams, ER will be in the mix I think, as will McEwen but I do think HC will be the one to watch. They have strong post players in Skelton and Monroe, with Roper and Witherspoon as backups, and I agree they have the best point guard in the district with the Cooksey boy. The Barnes boy will be returning and he is one of the best defensive players in the district, and always gives 110% in any game. The younger Featherstone boy is a shooter, Hammond too. I think it will be a good year with great games. Can't wait.

While I didn't see every returning PG in this district, from what I saw of Cooksey, if he is the #1 PG in 10A then either the rest are very poor or he improved vastly over the summer.

  3. How would you like to be Cloudland and win the Region, but have to travel 3 1/2 hours to Rockwood because the Cloudland gym is too small.

    Following from the Knoxville News-Sentinel:

Someone should take Paul Kamikawa to Las Vegas and bet what he bets. The Rockwood High School boys' basketball coach came upon a little luck last week.

Despite losing to Grace Christian in the Region 2-A final on Thursday, Kamikawa learned that Rockwood won't have to travel for tonight's sectionals like the other region runners-up.

The Tigers (23-6), instead, will play host to Region 1-A winner Cloudland (19-10) at 7 p.m.

When Cloudland twice submitted information to the TSSAA last season that its gym met the TSSAA-mandated 1,000-seat minimum requirement to host postseason games, that information twice came into question.

A TSSAA investigation found the gym to be "well under 1,000," according to association spokesman Matthew Gillespie.

"With that, there was disciplinary action imposed upon them," said Gillespie. "They appealed to the board of control, and the disciplinary action was scaled down to apply just to the basketball program to where, for a two-year period, they cannot host any postseason tournament games."

That began this season. Consequently, Rockwood won't have to bus 3 1/2 hours to Roan Mountain.

"We can just stay on our normal routine," said Kamikawa. "It's hard to get to the state tournament when you're on the road. This is our sixth trip (to sectionals), and we've been on the road for four. And we've been unsuccessful on the road. The one time (2004) we were at home, we won. You can look at that stat and figure it out."

It sounds like they have to travel because they lied about the size of their gym, if they had been honest they could of chose a gym closer to their campus.

  4. With 10A tourney starting tomorrow, What 4 teams do you think will go to region?

I think it will be these 4.

CA,MC,WHH, and NCS will surprise ER.

I don't wanna brag but I called it, NCS wins and moves on with a 48-45 win.

I wasn't at the game but it sounds exciting.

Was anyone there? How was the game?

  7. When is this game going to be made up,it has great importance to both teams seeding wise.Houston Co could really make a move if they win this one and NC game,2-5 seeds would be crazy if HC wins both.

According the the Tennessean website and CoachT.com NC beat HC tonight by a score of 57-41.

  8. Scrapman, thats one of the few honest things youv'e said on here lol gl to your team though, I wish someone would take some of the air out of CA, I watched them last year and thru this year, in my opinion Martin is a better all around player than Malcolm, and Malcolm has gotten to where he wants to argue calls and act stupid. Needs t'ing up in my opinion. Now, I'm not saying that hes not a very good player, cause he is........ but its like the refs tolerate more out of him than they would another player. The twins are NOT the enire CA team, they have great outside shooters that are also very good defensive players, but they NEVER get mentioned.

I agree, IMO Malcolm and Martin are both great players but I see Martin as the better overall player.

  9. Current standings are pretty close to what I thought they would be. I thought that ER would have a better record than they do. Pretty impressed w/ NC, considering they returned no starters (+) and they have had close games. They will be a force to be reckoned with come next year! JB, Ka-Boom!!!!. CA needs to be careful, fall asleep and your one and done. (Are the twins soph or jr's?) Anyway, anything but a division win for CA would be a major, major dissapointment. So all of the pressure is on them to take division if not regions. How are you feeling about your chances???

When I read that, I decided to go look at NC's schedule and they really have had a lot of close games.

    at Columbia Academy L 44-47

    at White House-Heritage L 33-38.

    at Community L 48-51.

    vs McEwen L 40-43.

    at East Robertson L 50-51.

    vs White House-Heritage L 45-49.

That is 6 games overall by 19 points and 4 district games by a combined 13 points.

I wonder how this team will perform in the post-season and next year?

  10. I had the privilege of seeing my first 10A game last night with McEwen vs Nashville Christian. Both teams seemed to give it everything they had for all four quarters. McEwen eventually pulled it out 43-40.

I will go ahead and ask about these two since they are the only 10A squads I've seen this year, What are everyone's opinions about McEwen and Nashville Christian?
