  1. I dont think Camdens success has been a fluke lately. Ward came in and changed the program for the better and evryone knows that. Camden has worked hard on getting to where they are now as compared to last decade and i hope they continue on with there success the game with huntingdon has turned into a friendly rivarly and there is plenty of respect from both teams to each other as well as coaches to coaches. Camdens defense will try there best to stop Huntingdons "unstoppable offense" and Huntingdons offense will try there best to penetrate camdens "stiff defense". Its gonna be a slobber kknocker and I cant wait to see it.

  2. I'm just a mustang fan who's mostly been lurking on this board for a while. But I felt the need to reply to the constant talk of offense. Eventually Huntingdon will meet a really good defense, maybe even this Friday night. Let's face it. Our offensive strategy isn't hard to figure out. I'm taking nothing away from Holder. He's a very good back, but he can't be our whole offense. Supposedly a defensive starter has been taken off defense so he can be fresher for offense. Attention must be paid to the defense by not only the defensive coordinator but the head coach as well. It's troublesome when I read and hear so much negativity toward the defense. The kids that play on that side of the ball are giving it their best with mostly no credit. West Carroll scored a total of 8 points, yet the comments I've read here made it sound like our defense was a failure that night. Keep in mind these young men are still "students" of the game and must be taught. Would just like to see some more "teaching" going on.

Milan was a great defense as well as union city. The thing about Holder is its one thing to key on him but another to catch him. and if just in case camden does stop him which they may very may will, he is not the omly offensive threat.. thompson is good as well may not be as good as holder but he is still a very good back/reciever...Bam is also a great athlete. we are predictable but thats the mindset Swenson has.. you know whats comin now try to stop it.. u gotta admire that. Either way Goodluck Lions but even more goodluck to the MUSTANGS :D

  3. Camden wins by two TDs. Camden's Defense is much better than Huntingdon's. Their offenses are about the same. Ward is better than Swenson. Just look at all the head to head matchups going back to when Swenson was at Hickman County. Ward and the Lions prevails and hands the Mustangs their 2nd of 4 losses they will experience this season. (3rd McKenzie and likely 4th South Pittsburg) Kudos on the best schedule in 1a though.

thats a pretty bold statement saying camdens offense was better than huntingdons. i agree ur defense may be better but offensively.. no comparison.. Ward may be better then swenson but thats ur opinion.. and if that is the case it is simply due to more experience. he been coaching as a head coach couple more years than swenson. Holder breaks 1,000 this year in this game and i see him wit bout 160 this friday at the least. All respect and luck wished to u at camden. but the lions get put to sleep friday.

  4. If I was a smart aleck, I could come in here and say that I'm sick of all the whining and crying over the refs calls. I could say that the game was played on the field, and the best team won. I could say that people shouldnt blame the refs for a loss. I could say you lost...get over it.....and quit blaming it on the refs. You should have won in spite of the refs. And, I could say that Butchie saying that depth was a problem is ironic and laughable. Depth being a problem????? And, then, you, and others on this thread, get onto me and Greenfieldfan and others for our David and Goliath statements about Greenfield and Gleason and others having to play big schools in 1A?????? lol. I could say that and laugh a lot when thinking about the extreme lack of depth for true 1A schools when playing the bigger schools, but I wont say it. No, I wont say any of this, because I dont want to be a jerk and a smart aleck.

    ;)

Please just shut up. game over now time for us to focus on west carroll

  5. Huntingdon's speed and depth wins this game.. no one has been able to stop Holder yet and i dont think its gonna happen this week either. No disrespect to UC but i got a good feeling we will be comin back to huntingdon friday night a double digit winner. Good Luck Stangs!

    Huntingdon 34

  6. Too much horse power in the stangs. there mad bout last week and unfortunately for bruceton they gotta have the anger let out on them. mercy rule after half time holder and thompson and other starters wont play 2nd half. be a good day to get some of our younger blood in there and see what they got.

  7. Ok ok time to move on.. Huntingdon football is back the mustangs are for real and finally has the community support we been lackin past few years. Milan, great game and good luck the rest of the season we both have the rest of the season to finish so lets move on and worry bout bruceton. there not a team we should take likely gotta prepare for them just as we would milan. lets stop arguin and get on to week 2!

  8. Nobody is crying or whining, and S. Fulton and Gleason and Greenfield line up and play whoever every single Friday night. They do the David vs. Goliath thing just about everytime they play a game. So, who's crying? No one. It's just a fact.

Sure sounds like cryin to me.

  9. Blue and Gold Night @ Paul Ward Stadium tonight! Come help us kick off the upcoming season and watch whats in store for Huntingdon football as my Pee Wee League will kick things off with a scrimmage followed by the Middle School scrimmage, then a Punt, Pass,Kick tournament for the little ones, The Marching Mustangs will perform there halftime performance this year then the high School will scrimmage each other to cap off which should be a fun night.. Get excited ppl football season is here!!!! :thumb:

Maybe I'm missing something but didn't our 8th grade only win like 2 games this year? Our high school coaches have to work a lot harder these days to teach our players the basics because most of the people on here know more about football than the middle school coaches do.

Another problem with our program is that the kids do not know what it takes to win. In the 90's and early 2000's Huntingdon knew what working meant. Some of the kids now have had everything handed to them so its going to take more than just teaching these kids football for them to be special. Coach Swenson has a lot of work ahead him but I think he is the perfect man for the job. He has become a lot better coach in the last 5 or 6 years and it shows with the results of his teams. I understand that we have some talent in Huntingdon but they have talent on the hill in Knoxville as well and we all see how their season has gone. I just hope the kids stick together and work hard like has been done in Huntingdon for the past 80 years.
