  1. That seems both logical and reasonable.

I tell you what, Spartansfan -- somebody in these Inner-City Schools' Athletic departments need to take a stand. They need to DEMAND that their football coaching staff set some kind of objective to, at least, establish a consistent extra-point kicking game.

It needs to start with a S.M.A.R.T Goal: Specific. Measureable. Attainable. Realistic. Timely.

Somebody NEEDS to be held accountable!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

I suspect that with focus, committment and perserverance (to say the very least)....these teams could realistically develop the XP kicking game, by 2009.

Being a soccer player helps tremendously. since I am a kicker I can speak from experience that soccer is where i got my start. I played soccer through high school till my senior year I was asked to kick. That year I recieved coaching and became the leading scoring kicker in region 6-5a. Since then I have moved on to play college football as a kicker/punter. All from soccer and some coaching. Find a kid with a soccer backround and a strong leg and the possibilities are endless with proper coaching

  2. I've had the honor to watch Franklin play a few times this season and they're the best team i've seen besides a healthy Hillsboro and MBA. I think Franklin will take this game and i have them winning state. Great talent for the Rebels at every position and get away from the fact that Franklin is one of the best coached teams in all of the state. Good luck to both teams though

Correction, Best team you have seen besides a healthy MBA team only. Franklin Beat Hillsboro so no argument there.

  3. I must completely 100% agree. I have read numerous posts discussing the future "Brentwood-Franklin" match-up. NEWS FLASH both teams have to play a game before that match-up can even be discussed. Brentwood must play the surprising Centennial Cougars. Meanwhile Franklin travels to face the Commandos of Hendersonville. I hope every fan that comments after me predicts an absolute blow-out (with Hendersonville being the victim). Because the commandos have become accustomed to the "under-dog" role (like the NY Giants last year), when the young men suit up each & every Friday night and charge onto the field...they play with a chip on their shoulder. Hendersonville has become the little-team-that-could. I also hope that every single Franklin player, Supporter, Coach, Parent, and Student read these predictions and begin to believe the hype, and when they ride up to Hendersonville they are already thinking about Brentwood waiting for them around the corner. Until the crawl back into the bus with tears in their eyes trying to swallow the defeat that the Hendersonville Commandos just shoved down their throats.

As far as I am concerned, Brentwood is the better team (thats why they won the region, and won the 1st seed). They have also been the only team to have crushed the rebels. From what I have seen & understand I have drawn a few similarities between HHS & BHS. I keep hearing the same words describe BHS "disciplined & well-coached", these words have also become synonymous with Hendersonville Commando football. Coach Hat is busy this week, because he is busy cooking up a recipe of "Franklin Krytonite". The olympics only roll around every 2 years, and now apparently the upsetting of the great Franklin Rebels has also joined this cycle.

Defense- Hendersonville plays solid defense up front, which throws rhythm offenses out of beat. (sound Familiar Franklin???) bend-but-don't-break, and play 4 quarters of football have become the staple of commando defense. I have seen how forcing Franklin to win the game in the 4th quarter seems to soften the iron-clad rebels.

Offense- Keep it Simple, pound the opposition, and wear them out. Hendersonville is disciplined, we are physically & mentally tough, we are trained and proficient in our type of game. Hendersonville plays for 1st downs...while Franklin lunges for the knock-out (rabbit and the turtle mentality) Welcome to HHS football.

HHS creates chances for a win, we capitalize in the "hidden yardage" factor of the game. and if I remember correctly, Franklin played in another hostile environment during last year's play-offs, which was a game where everybody predicted a win. And left a defeated and deflated team. The more I think about...it all feels like we have been hear before, kind of a creepy feeling of Deja Vu'

    WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

    WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

Ill tell you what the difference is. The difference is a running back with 1300 yards (Ford) and one with 800( Lee). The difference is A quarterback nominated for Mr 5A football(Nichols). The difference is an offensive line that flat out opens holes for these running backs to run,(Jackson aka mark the shark, Walkup...many others. and gives Nichols all day to throw. The difference is 2 receivers (Eaton and Starnes) That no one can cover. The difference is a defense that plays with heart and AS A TEAM, which is stronger than individual players alone. The Difference is the Donnie Webb Factor. The difference is Taking your Yazzie? out of the special teams by kicking touchbacks and skying punts(Gentry) The difference is The Humbleness of Franklin, No show boating on the 1 yard line( 2 years ago), Just hard Smash Mouth Football.

    WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

    FRANKLIN WINS IN 08

  4. I would say Centennial has an offense equal to, if not better than Franklin. The defense will be the main concern in that game

In no way is it better than Franklins, You just have a More Mobile QB. And Franklins Defense will Hold Centennials Offense. Just ask the last Running Quarterback how he felt after he Played Franklin(Heckman). If im not mistaken He had a concussion, and Hurt ribs and Shoulder after that game.

  5. hehe looks like Indy can play in the sonic bowl or whatever they play in when they miss the playoffs and show why they deserve to be watchin the games at home...better luck next year and Centennial isnt gunna tie for 1st sorry

    1. Brentwood, (They will kill Independance)

    2. Franklin ( Centennial Cannot Match Franklins Offense, Better luck next year CHS)

    3. Centennial( best region finish in years)

    4. Ravenwood ( Squeeks by Northeast, Dont expect much from them in the Playoffs)

Way to go indy by not making the playoffs the year after you go to state. Leeks like you were a one hit wonder, haha

  6. Ignorant response and typical of probably a player that sits on the bench. Played Brentwood 5 times at bwood because 3 years we met them in the playoffs and never played at franklin in the playoffs. so if you still need help counting, thats 2 years regular season, plus 3 years in the playoffs... 3+2=5!!!! and if you saw a great game last night then you certainly missed out on brentwood franklin games from 4 years ago and beyond that point. last night looked more like two glorified hs teams that are both one demensional and wont make it anywhere in the playoffs if they continue down that road. been there done that and moved on.

as for your soccer comments, your showing just how arrogant you truly are.

Show some pride for the team You used to represent and play for.

  7. once again like i have stated before the rebel D-line will be overwhelmed with the size and strength of the Bruin O-line and brentwood will do what brentwood does best(pound it up the middle).our defense just couldnt stop it so i see franklin having a very long game.

    Brentwood wins..no prediction

The rebels have handled Big o-lines in the past, No reason why they cannot handle the Bruins O-line. I love how you compare Franklins Defense to Centennials, Which is a Joke. They arent even in the same league.

    Franklin by 10

  8. I honestly can say that I never thought I would say the following statement; I agree with CHS2007, I never thought I would agree with Centennial propaganda in my entire life. But I do concur with CHS2007's previous statement of, "Regardless of who wins, it will not be an upset". On the other hand, I am hearing a lot of opinions giving the game to Franklin by at least two touchdowns. I find this input to be dis-respectful, and highly-mis-informed.

    1) Brentwood was a pre-season favorite

    2) Brentwood has one of the best junior/senior classes in the region

    3) Brentwood is home to one of the best Line-backing corps in the region

    4) Brentwood is typically a very disciplined/ well-coached team

    Those are the facts

So please explain the two touchdown deficit

The only thing that is a fact is your #1. Other then that #2,3,and 4 are all your own personal opinion, and they could easily be proven wrong.

  10. Coach Jones,

My comments were based off the comments that you had burned your Franklin High clothes with your Independance players. Anything that has Franklin High on it Is something that Franklin people take pride in to represent, and burning it would be considered highly disrespectfull, especially for someone who used to coach for them. If it is true that you burned your Franklin High Stuff, My comment stands, But if It is false, I appologize and retract my comment, It was based on that fact only an nothing else.

and rebbacker 07, quit hiding behind your username, If you have something to say, say who you are instead of taking cheap shots behind a username

  11. It also could've been due to the fact that he couldn't lift his right arm up after getting popped in the ribs so many times. Franklin did a great job bringing the blitz and the Eagles just couldn't stop it.

Im happy to see Indy fans giving props to the Franklin team. Now if their coach that transfered from Franklin to Indy would show some sportsmanship that would be great. But we are glad he burned his Franklin shirts and hate because HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO WEAR ANYTHING WITH FRANKLIN ON IT. Look how good Nichols is doing without him.

  12. first remember last year when you REBELS went to your car crying and the Franklin players caused a flood with thier tears.........

a few things that i have heard from a very good source, Heckman will be ready and believe it or not some of the smack from you on this board @ FHS is in his locker ( does this guarantee a win, nope but it will make his desire that much more) and from another good source ( hint Will Co Sherf Dept ) will be looking and waiting for any sort of antics

OH MY GOSH everyone, the Williamson Country Sherrifs Department will be there. Im so scared. What is going to happen to all of us.............

  13. well like i said all you REBEL fans were singing and dancing after last years regular season game and talking all the smack before the playoff game that it was gonna be even worse then the first game beating but AS I SEEM to recall the IHS kids were dancing on the field and I saw alot of rebel tears falling so /.................

I seem to remember it was the IHS players talking smack. And the coaches were talking too

  14. We may have lost two dominant receivers, but its all relative, because can anyone deny that Franklin lost two solid members out of their very own secondary. With Anderson and Hampton (both all-region) gone, who has stepped up to the plate to fill their roles, because from what I have seen no one in Franklin's secondary is of the same caliber as those two, and even with those two studs playing on Franklin's side of the ball, Heckman was able to pick-franklin-apart last November. According to my level of reasoning, Heckman is now equipped with a new set of "three" recievers, and Franklin has not been able to establish "one" shut-down corner, Now I am not a betting-man but I would take 3-1 odds anyday. The only possible speed-bump for IHS' passing game is #3, but even his play is shaky at best, one week he looks decent against Hillsboro, and then a few weeks later he gets burned a few times during the McgGavock game (if you go back and review the film you will see that there were numerous blown coverages) Once again it seems, that #3 has the same identity-crisis that Franklin's Defense appears b going through (first 2 games VS last two games) I fully agree that Franklin's Linebacking core is amazing against the Run, and if IHS can keep the front-7 honest, and force FHS to match up on the outside with INDY's passing game. I believe that the Eagles will take to the air, and force Franklin into a shoot-out (so I hope Nichols can keep it perfect)

Dont get me wrong, the Franklin defense has given the illusion of being incredible (but INDY has handled the incredible before), Coach Web must be one heckuva seem-tress, because he has sown & pieced a manageable excuse of a defense. This weekend the "patch-work" starts to fray, the string is going to dissolve, and when Heckman and his crew begin to punish FHS's "curtain" the clothe is going to rupture, and the only thing left standing will be IHS (once again)

Looking at Heckmans stats The real question Is whether or not he will throw the ball to his recievers or to Franklins DB's

the odds are 7/6 not looking too good for indy

  15. I see itsupanditsgood posted his list of stats, "I see you stats, and I raise you..."

    First two games-Hillsboro & McCallie

    Franklin Allowed 63 points

Last two games- Ravenwood & McGavock

    Franklin Allowed 6 points

We obviously can see both extreme ends of the spectrum, so it just comes down to which stat you wanna stand-by. I have heard/ seen countless FHS supporters stand-behind their unbelievable defense (I would hope any self-respecting team to hold McGavock to minimal points) I would like to explain the perplexing conundrum posted above. FHS shut down RHS because Ravenwood was a "one-dimensional" offense, AKA the raptors dont have enough offensive threats on the field. If you watch the last quarter of the hillsboro game, you begin to see a problem. Hillsboro didnt start slinging the ball down-field until late in the game (it took HHS entirely too long to discover the right plan of attack), and when HHS realized that Franklin had to respect 3 three down-field threats, and Eric Gordon coming out of the backround, they finally solved the equation (a little to late) Hillsboro was able to saturate the field with offensive threats, and therefor they were able to spread Franklin too thin. Because contrary to common belief Franklin's defense isnt the "end-all-be-all" in the state (I dont care about coaches, both teams are well coached we all know that)

IHS has the ability to spread the football field with talented athletes/ proven-play-makers, and we will finally see is Franklin can hold-back-the-flood-gates for more than one quarter. INDY can come out in a 3-receiver set (Boatman, Williams, Standard) with Smith coming hard out of the backfield, Heckman destroyed FHS last year in the playoff (when it counted) as a sophmore. INDY has the abilty to score from any angle on the field at any time, meaning that this game could quickly become a shoot-out.

The only remaining question is..."what FHS defense shows up this Friday? The Defense that allowed 3 points per-game (average) or the defense that allowed 31.5 points per-game (average)?" And Considering that Franklin has never been able to get-it-done on Declaration way, that coupled against a QB who has put the "final nail in the coffin" before and this time he has a better wide receiving corps (as a whole) (and Heckman doesnt need too awful much time to slaughter a defense) I hope Franklin can hold on for 4 whole quarters of Hillsboro's 4th quarter.

I said it once and I'll say it again, BRING YOUR BEST...BECAUSE YOUR BEST DON'T BRING IT TO INDEPENDENCE

You say that the reason franklin has beat many teams is bacause of the opponents being one dimensional. My only question is WHERE IS YOUR RINNING GAME? If you look at your stats that I have so conveniently provided, Your leading running back, Bailey, has 17 rushes for 83 yards and no touch down. Your leading rusher is actually your quarterback, Whose rushing stats are skewed by being flushed out of the pocket because of poor O-Line blocking. And you cant tell me you have a great Potent passing game that can spread the ball around. Heckman has spread the ball around to the other teams defenders almost as much as he puts it in the endzone. Point blank, Indy is one demensional which gives franklin the W
