Those was all 3A  teams. I was getting at if Polk was playing in 2A like they should've been would've been different. But it don't matter. Was fun to watch those teams for sure though.

If Polk was 2a in that stretch they win a couple states I highly believe that. Not knocking the teams that won State in 2a but seeing them in person I highly believe Polk wins state those few years. And all us in Polk wanted to see ehow we stacked up against Alcoa in 09 and 10 for sure but it's a what if.

Not sure who he'll have running the offense. I know he'll be running the defense of course. I know when he was at Central he threw more then I ever seen lol. Guess depends on the talent he has which from what I seen last year there's some talent there for sure. Go Polk!!!

I agree. Not gonna lie I've looked up to him for about half my life and Larry pretty much my entire life. I was a freshman DD first year at Polk. Besides my dad those two ah e and a huge impact on my life. Glad he's back home.

I don't think so he's unhappy but Polk is his home and dream job. Just the way things went with he administration soured that. I personally would love to see him back as I've said before. He cares for the kids and I know the offense is definitely old school but Davis does get a lot out of very little being a small school. Time will tell I guess. I know when my youngest starts playing if this isn't straighten out with the administration my he will be playing in Bradley county. Been looking to move all my kids to that school system anyways. Nothing against the teachers at all but the way it's run is a complete joke. Sorry for the rant towards the end.

In any case, not re-hiring Coach would set just be a vindictive action by the Director of Schools and School Board. What has Polk County done without Larry or Derrick Davis.....? Coach is Red and Blue all the way.....Who are they going to hire that is better? When DD has had good and even average players, he is going to be competitive. It is small rural high school football, it has its ups and downs. Coach has had a lot more ups than downs. Got a great place to play, wonderful atmosphere for Friday Night football....For all that is holy, bring the "stach" back to the home sidelines at Larry Davis Stadium

I haven't been trying to get more information. I know when DD resigned last time only Brewer had applied. I couldn't imagine anyone this late applying with so little time before the season.

That don't surprise me one bit. I honestly know Davis would do good and not go backwards as some claim. Heck he only had two bad years. But it is what it is.

So the school board don't want him back go figure. But I do agree they need to get someone hired. Practice isn't that far away. But I know it isn't about the kids with this administration and that's sad.

Not sure was supposed to be this past Wednesday. Rumor has it the school board is jacking around. If I was Davis I wouldn't take it if this is how they're gonna be. Wasn't gonna get into this but Polk's school board is a freaking joke has been for years and people keep voting the same people in.

I like Davis and he did good at Polk with what two bad years out of the 19 he was there? All the nosie about the issue with soccer when he was there is just that. I'm sure if Davis comes back there won't be a issue. But I know Davis loves Polk.  Hopefully if he's interested they hash it out and bury the past issues and bring DD home.

Brewer is taking an position in administration. Be nice to have DD back I for one would love to have him back. I  think it's be the easiest transition if DD is interested. 

Rusty Brewer resigned this morning at Polk. Wonder who they will get to lead the Wildcats this late in the year???

Agreed the McWilliams kid is definitely an athlete. Hopefully they use him in a lot more ways like they started to towards the end of the season last year.

Young kids giving it their all in a very hard fought game. It happens sometimes was just wondering if it was real bad. Would've hated for anything you know way out of hand to spoil a very hard fought game.
