I think this one will be close for a good bit of the game but CB will pull away late. Central is not a bad football team from what I've seen on them. The only bad loss I see on their schedule is against Tellico. I saw them against Meigs and if that was the same team that played against Tellico I have no idea how they lost. Anyways, Central's power run game isn't bad at all. I can see it giving the cougars a little trouble early on. The Basin D will find a way to slow them down eventually though. Also, it might take the Basin offense a drive or two to get in sync with a new man under center, but I think after he gets a few snaps and some nerves worked out he can get the job done, I have no doubt. Plus, the little bowling ball at running back can take a good amount of the load for the offense. With that being said, I'm taking the cougars, 26-13 in this one. Go Cougars! Find a way and get to 7-0!
So Basin starting QB is out this week? Tough blow for Basin. How long is he sideling for? Can't afford to lose him for an extended period of time with South Pitt and the playoffs coming up

Young man is resting well and looks to make full recovery. Of course, he looks to be out for season but he should recover fine lord willing, just keep him in your prayers. Thank you for asking.

Polk don't score unless you get the middle school team out there.

Embarrassing showing from Polk.

Tellico wins this one easily. Polk isn't the Polk of old. If Tellico gets up on them they will quit and that's hard to say buts it's the truth.

Only chances I possibly see are against a tougher copper basin or possible signal mountain if they some how could pull that off but the rest of the games are pretty tough.
Agreed

Offense looked decent in the power I got sure. And the Polk fans booing the stuff about Larry is just sorry. I wasn't going to say anything about that but for what that man has done not just for the school system but the community too and to boo him is just sorry. Anyways as a former Davis player I glad them scored pretty much at will against Polk was hoping for that 50 mark lol. Maybe this can get Central going for the rest of the season they have some tough games coming up though their region is tough.

I don't think it has anything to do with Central not buying in. They don't have all the pieces needed to run his system...or maybe any other system at this point.
I can see that being the problem too. Heard Central is hurting on the talent level this year. Knock knocking the kids that are out there at all.

one would thing that HC at polk would know how to stop the Nasty Split O that the HC runs at Central since Brewer I think did help with the O when Davis was still at Polk.
Problem there is Brewer is a basketball coach and he definitely was predictable play caller on the offense and has no clue on defense. And Polk DC now definitely has no clue what's going on. Seen a few games of Polk this season and I knew what they was gonna run before they snapped the ball lol. With that said Central in my opinion won't buy into Davis's style because it's a demanding and very discipline style of coaching. If they would but into it Central could be decent. But anyways I think Central pulls a close one out.

That ended up being the final. Walker Valley missed a field goal to tie the game at the end wide left.

I didn’t realize you was a Polk County boy!
Yep hated Davis leaving and been loyal to him all these years. Brewer took over a tough situation definitely wish him and my alma mater beat of luck and hope they get things turned around but it's going to take awhile.

Timer just dinged folks, think this one's done. Dickson is a beast.
Kid is doing work in the second half for sure. I'm very impressed

Meigs don't want none of Dickson he's wore them out here in the second half.

Meigs needs to throw some.

Appreciate it man, really hope we do as well. Hope Polk gets that turned around as well.
Yeah it's hard watching the state Polk is in. I remember the days they was a very physical team and fun to watch even during the down years. Davis leaving really did hurt the program. Wish nothing but the best for Brewer but he got a mess and a difficult job getting that program turned around.

Defense did let a couple long runs through for whatever reason. Could be field conditions, but both teams had the same weather. Offensively we looked good I guess wouldn't even say we had to try to score to do it. Starters from what I saw started coming out near the end of the 2nd quarter and looked like freshman and sophomores scored 28 in the second half. All in all was a good showing by Meigs. Good game to heal up before Playoffs. Polk has taken a step back and Meigs seems to be firing on all cylinders now it seems. Should have another easier game to heal up and prepare for the playoffs. I expect good things again this year in the playoffs.
Polk has taken more then just a step back. Good luck to you guys in the playoffs make a deep run!!!!

Meigs is know for that when things isn't going their way.

The culture should change from the day a new coach is hired. That doesn't mean the team will win every game, but every player should know the standards and expectations of the new coach. I think with 6 games into the season that most of the mental mistakes and turnovers from the previous season would have been eliminated. I just don't see the improvement there.
I disagree I was a freshman Davis first year at Polk we won two games but after that season good off-season and spring we went 8-2. A lot of bad habits had to be broke and the culture from a few losing season and the season before he got there Polk went 0-10.
