Polk had the starters out at halftime. The score doesn't indicate how bad CB is. Whitwell will win this game easy theirs starters should get the second half off. 

As long as Polk don't hurt themselves with turnovers they should be fine. Excited about he game tonight it should be a good one. Score not sure but I believe it will be a close one. 

Polk did look good got a few things to clean up. Don't know much about East Ridge. But I think this game will be a good one. 

Game day and it's going to be a great night. I believe Polk wins big. Been waiting for this game for years and hope we come out injury free tonight. This team is looks good and finally looking like the Polk of old. Should be a great crowd tonight. Go Polk!!!!

Polk should be almost back to what they was. We will be way more aggressive yeah on both sides of the ball. Really like the group that came in. The next few years Polk is going to be tough to handle. Excited for this game been a long time coming.

Thought on Polk this season?  Got a lot of returning players and a great group of freshmen coming in. Big junior class that has had a ton of playing experience. 

Will you tell that Davis man if Grider plays him next year he better not show up at Griders stadium with that nappy looking mustache? If he does Grider should run the score up. You think im joking but im not.

I can try ole Roy but Davis does things his way and we like it lol. But I do miss those games against y'all. Had some good ones.

Polk has a lot of returning players and some.good ones coming in. Polk has been wanting this game for a long time. It's going to be tough on Basin. Next year Polk win improve and the year after they should be back to normal Polk football. Glad this game is back on hopefully nothing screws it up.

I hope he makes that Jasper man shave off that stupid looking beard.

Ole Roy that Davis man does things his way and no one tells him what to do. He likes it and is keeping it lol.

We have a real good group coming in next year. Polk will be back to normal in the next few years.

Our offense has been hard to watch this year and we have given opponents a short field on many occasions. Anything can happen...I wish you could somehow bring your concession stand!

Ole Peanut and his crew do a great job with it. I might be a little bias but it's the best around here lol. Hoping for a good game Friday night and a injury free game.

If Polk don't have a problem with the turnover bug I think we can make it a decent game.

Polk is young. But I will say this Polk don't make a lot of mistakes in the penalty area. Turnovers have been a issue. Against Silverdale the first half way to many turnovers was the difference. The second half shut them down. Would be nice for Polk to win this one but still a year away. But hey anything can happen. I believe this game will be close.

If Bledsoe's #1 and I think #6 have any say they may pick up the win. I have t heard much about Polk other than they seem to be back to winning ways.

We (Polk) is still young in a lot of key positions but this group plays hard and continues to improve. Next year and year after this is going to be a tough group to deal with

Polk gets things back on track this week. Big game for both teams.

Also good luck the rest of the year Chargers. Sorry we didn't give you a better game. I really think this team we have a huge improvement next year and year after. We have a lot of sophomores starting.

I knew you were a McMinn Central hater from way back and you know that is OK on a public football forum. I have watched your posts all week and your low life comments about Coach Davis have really displayed a level of disgust in most of us here on Coach T. Know and understand you have a right to your views. But to take shots a Coach Derrick Davis simply shows what an ignorant person you are. Not sure of the ax you are grinding but give it a rest.

 

I have been around high school football for a long time. Seen some and played some really good Polk County teams. Seen some Wildcat teams that were not as talented. As a coach I have also had the opportunity to get to know Coach Davis.

 

This guy is passionate, dedicated, and 100% committed to making things better at Polk County High School. He took over a football program that had gone many years without even being competitive after his Dad retired. He reversed the downward spiral and brought Polk County back to a high level. Yes he had a few exceptional players during that run but always amazed how well his kids were mentally and physically prepared. How do you think that happens, Charlie? Mistreating kids........Really? His kids play the game the way it is supposed to played. They never quit, they never complain, they just keep playing. #17 for them tonight played every snap. I think #13 played every snap.....What makes 16-17 year old young men do that?

Not a coach that mistreats them but a man that teaches kids that high school football is more than winning state championships....It is about being part of team, putting your team-mates first, preparing to win, doing your best and overcoming adversity.

 

You can line up his former players, opposing players and coaches, they will all tell you pretty much the same thing. Class act, humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

 

The game of football is changing. Kids are changing. The way you coach kids is changing. High school football needs guys like Coach Davis. Polk County needs Coach Davis.

 

Whatever your personal differences are with Coach Davis should remain that .....personal. My momma always said , "if you can't say something nice, then keep your mouth shut"

Hey Valley - There is no use in replying to one of the few town idiots that are jealous of the success that Coach Davis has had in the last 15 years. Coach Davis has the support of the administration and a majority of the community so let that small group talk as loud as they want because what they have to say are falling on deaf ears. Coach Davis is a good coach and more importantly a good man that cares about each and everyone of his players. What ever he does to try and motivate his players is fine with me, even if it is removing the "P" from the helmets, then so be it. This years team seem to know what it means to be a Polk Co. football player so you could say that removing the "P" from the helmet worked. They play with discipline, effort, and toughness. Keep up the good work Coach Davis and know that the people who come watch the Wildcats play on Fridays are proud to have you as the leader of these young men. Go Wildcats and good luck against Central!

I agree, and Derrick Davis is a class act. Pushes kids when they need to be pushed, discipline is used where needed. I for one think he does a great job year in and year out.

 

MCentral is not a bad team, just played some tough ones.
