  1. The reason Ryan football is being heldback is because there are coaches coaching posistions that they never even played. Would you want Bruce Matthews teaching you how to play quarterback? Or Marcus Tubbs teaching you how to play Running Back? No. The coaching staff does have bright spots with players who played at a high level of competetion, but for the most part the coaches are grown men who still believe that they missed their shot at the pros or men training to get into the big leagues by doing the prestigious P90x workout. FRHS will not win state in Football until something changes with the staff.

Would please elaborate on this? I seriously doubt that the ryan administration would hire a bunch of coaches that didnt know what they were doin. If they did, they are doing a good job of not knowing anything and letting the players win ball games. lol :)

  2. So I'm guessing McPhail didn't get the look he'd hoped for once Rutledge's name was thrown into it?

Is there any specific reason that you keep bringing McPhail's name up in all of your post? Its starting to look like you might have a man crush on him. lol I thought this was about the position at JPII. Question should be since rutledge has been named, will he keep the staff at Pope or build his on?

Yes there is. The specific reason is that I WANT TO. Who died and made you king of the thread that you get to decide what everyone's question SHOULD be. My question SHOULD be whatever I want my question TO be. If you want to know about the staff then YOUR question SHOULD be about the staff. That's not MY question. I heard that he was telling people he was going to apply. I'm wondering what happened. Sorry to bother you with my wondering. If it's really that big of a problem for you there is a simple answer. Don't read my post!

Nobody made me king of the thread, what happen is everyone sees your fishing to get something started and nobody bit on the bait. Please stop with the its my party and I can do what I want to. I really doubt that McPhail was telling people that he was goin to apply, due to the fact he does have another son at Ryan.

  4. Hate to be a party spoiler but the tread is titled "How will Division II shape up this season with all the teams making the playoffs?"

Maybe someone can start "MBA Memory" thread.

    Coulndt have said it better.

  5. I meant "Potter had much better students at McCallie". It seemed clear when I posted it originally. On the other hand, he's got better athletes at BA. Seems like a good trade if you want to be in the finals year end and year out.

He does have much better athletes at BA but he hasnt won one yet. How much longer will the BA faithful and money donors allow him to stick around without winning one?

  6. Ah that's great for him! That won't be much of a change in system for him, so that will be beneficial. Just curious, what is his 40 time? Seeing as Pat White, a small fast QB, excelled at West Virginia and is now playing for my Dolphins, I hope and think Brunetti does just as well.

This is a great thing for this kid. He should do very well in the big east. D2 is full of stars! Lets see who gets the next offers

  7. Brunetti (MUS), Caro (BA), Darkwa (EHS), Tate (BA)

Hey GOAT2000, McPhail cost Ryan a playoff birth last year after all is said and done.

I honestly don't know enough past the big time names. It's DII-AA, there will be great athletes who just randomly pop up at BA, MUS, CBHS, and MBA. And honestly, I don't know what to think of EHS past Darkwa. They had a very good TE and DE (may have been Cooper) but outside of that.

Oh wait, the BEHEMOTH from Mt. Pleasant on EHS. Good luck blocking that kid this year.

Hey is there anyway we can keep those people off this thread that have no clue about football? lol

How does 1 player cost a team a playoff birth? Last time I check, there are 10 other players on the field.

  8. Brunetti (MUS), Caro (BA), Darkwa (EHS), Tate (BA)

This dumb statement shows exactly how much you know about sports, expecially the game of football. One player does not cost a team a game or a playoff birth. Wins and losses start and end with the entire team. Please think before you speak and type.

Im a fan of the game and follow high school sports closely, dont know alot about ryan or the staff, but I would say that no one person has ever lost a game for them!

  9. Oh grow up or go away, for the love of Pete! I couldn't identify the young man in question if I shared a phone booth with him, and i can't remember his name without checking the posts above it. Stsbulldog is Ryan supporter, and I'm an MBA supporter (and if I'm correct, we're both many many years removed from high school sports). It's a friendly bit of banter, and we agree on almost everything here, except the schools we support.

Before you suggest someone is being improper, perhaps you should know a bit about the history between the two posters. Or, put another way, the grown ups are talking here, please don't interrupt.

There is a difference between friendly banter and taking personal shots at teenagers. This thread is about what kids might blossum into stars this football season, not about wanting to get the kid a nintendo for XMAS! LOL

  10. Sounds like a lot of work. Let's hope it never happens. Perhaps I could send the young man a Nintendo?

"Lets hope it never happens" sounds like there is something personal with you and that kid. This is a football thread, not a place for personal arguements.

  11. McPhail will have to show alot of improvement to join the list of players on this thread IMO. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You might be right, what kind of improvements would that be?

  12. Or for that matter that their father, also quoted in the article, was removed from the regional championships for coaching his daughters. a despicable act that he should be ashamed of.

Can anyone tell me why the Garcia's father is being quoted in the article? Those girls played well during the tournament, but they didnt dominate in the fashion that everyone is making it out to be. They played a tough semi-final round that could have gone either way against Ryan.

  13. He turns 19 in his Senior year, but well after the cut of date to be ruled ineligible. he is now ranked as the #1 Ranked Dual Threat QB in the latest Rivals Rankings.

Sounds like D2 has a few QB's that are pretty good and will be standouts for their teams. The QB from MBA has also emerged as a combine warrior. Does JP2 have any studs on their ball club this year, or has graduation taken over?
