  1. dallas grace; macon count: can do it all incredible shooting range, can post up anyone, shut down defense, great kid!

Voters need to take a look at this kid total package!

Agree with you,2 dribbles past half court,he is in range.Very well behaved kid, unselfish on the court, makes his teamates better.A total team player, does whatever, is ask or needed.TC1

  2. I will be honest, my buddy knows the Florida guy and told me family was just looking to possibly relocate, why leave that weather I don't know, but if I have learned anything from football I see Florida sure does produce athletes year in and year out as well as Texas. Can't say I know shoulders well, but I am sure he's more than capable of the job. I don't think it matters where a guy is from but as long as he's qualified. Not a big fan of the good ole boy hiring philosophy....

If willing to relocate that far away (Florida or New York) now, would worry me of them wanting to relocate again in the near future and putting you back in the situation you are in now. Look at the successful programs around including Westmoreland, I think the reason for their success is the stability they have had as head coach. Westmoreland's last hire was a guy off from there that nobody knew anything about and that didn't workout to good. I have no idea if Shoulders is even interested in this job, but to me he makes a great candidate because I feel he could offer Westmoreland with that type of stability and give the program and community someone that they could depend on. At the same time, I would hate to see him leave RBS because I would hate to see them go back to the way they were before he came. BTW, I agree 100% with you on your comment " Not a big fan of the good ole boy hiring philosophy" Good luck and as always, TC1

  3. I have heard an Assistant Head Coach from a high school in Orlando, FL has applied for the job. Would be interesting to see this...Why he would move here is beyond me.. :popcorneater:

Just my opinion, I would be very skeptical of someone willing to move in from that far away. I have seen Shoulders from RBS mentioned a few times on this thread. While I may be biased because he comes from our region, which I feel like is one of the tougher regions for our classification (TC, FC Sweatervest, G-Ville, etc.) Shoulders has evolved that program at RBS! I try to make it a point to watch other games involving our region during the season when TC plays on the road. I have had the pleasure of watching RBS over the last couple of years and have been very impressed with them, complete different ball club than they were a few years ago. Shoulders seemed to take over possibly the worst situation possible in RBS and in a short time has developed them into a competitor. I think Westmoreland would be a perfect fit for Shoulders, I would be excited to see what he could do with a more level playing field of talent at Westmoreland opposed to RBS. At the same time I think Shoulders would be a great fit for Westmoreland too, because of his experience and results with a lot less talent and the fact of him being local. I would be more than supportive if one day TC decided to hire him, I think he is that much of a quality coach. Good luck with your coaching search. TC1

  4. How will the Lafayette bunch fare on the gridiron in the 3rd year of the Pemberton regime?

He has thrown his first 2, fairly talented teams away.I guess his ego and reputation was more important than wins.Anyone could have finished 10-12 the past 2 seasons with those 2 teams.Betwwen the same 5 play calls on O,and the same D coach another 5-6. TC1,

  5. Very weak defense on Macons behalf this season. Did Pemberton allow Grace to pass tonight or not?

[/quote The wing t suppose to help the D out.A 3 and out is a 3 and out.Grace was 2 of 4 for 20 yards passing fist half. Finished with 225 yards passing 2 or 3 tds.I guess to build a program you must sacrafice, one of the best teams you have ever had, instead of swallowing an ego,or pride.Libery is a fast strong team.TC1

  6. I feel like we have a really good, solid, football team. But we have a tough road to the dance. Next week is huge for us and the other teams in our quad. TC must take it one game at a time. I feel like our composure and experience in the playoffs is what gives us the biggest advantage. TC1

  7. Yeah they played a football game last night and I didn't realize myself until I read on facebook where my sister said she had just cheered in her last football game.

As for the football game I was told RBS lost 48-18 and RBS scored all 18 points in the first quarter.

Come on swanson you should keep up with your Dogs better than that! I listened to TC's, one and only, the Cheese broadcast this one on Laf station last night. Sounded like RBS played some really good football. I expected the score to be worse than it was with RBS playing a good size 3A team. I think this was a big step for the Dogs. Looking at Uppermans schedule/scores, seems that they are much improved from last year and RBS seemed to battle all night. RBS went up 12-0 early then 18-7 with the game ending with a final score of 26-48 Upperman. I feel like the RBS program has made huge strides under the direction of Shoulders. If he stays around, its just a matter of time before they will be contending for playoff births. What he has done at RBS is the equivalent of other down programs making the playoffs or us (TC) winning the gold ball! Because of this, I think others have took notice about what has been done and Its hard for me to believe that Shoulders stays at RBS much longer where IMO he seems limited. Good Job RBS, have a good off season and come back next year stronger than ever. Yall have several pulling for you and your coach here in Jacket Country! TC1

  8. let's go tigers.it's time to turn it loose.IF,notice, i said IF. the tigers come to play as a team and play like they can.the tigers can pull this one out.Im still waiting to see that team that played goodpasture to come back out

The Macon team that week, has always been there, just on a choker chain, running the same 4 plays, week after week, turn your talent loose.Macon has as much talent as they have ever had.Just like when we played, get behind 14,then open up the offense, but its to late then.Keep the ball away, may work,if Macons D was better. So you wanted the team that played Goodpasture, then play to outscore Liberty Tech, just like the game plan was in week 3.Good luck Tigers..TC1

  9. How do you suggest I eat it? I'm sure being a Macon Co. Grad you have eat plenty of it in the past. Wait a minute, this is the first time Macon has ever went to the playoffs 2 consecutive years in a row isnt it? I'd say you have never had much to crow about. Those who were in attendance of last nights game from Macon and Westmoreland saw a pretty good game. I'm still scratching my head on that 3rd and 4th down in the 3rd quarter. That was the momentum changing stop that Macon needed to secure the game I thought, but the punt return iced it. Unless Macon draws an extremely weak team in the 4A division they will not be long in the playoffs never the less I wish Westmoreland were in. Speaking of playoff streaks, it dont seem right for Westmoreland not to have been in the playoffs now 3 years in a row for the first time in many moons possibly since at least the 70's. Now I know what it feels like to be a Macon Co. fan. Very depressing. Oh well, future is bright for next 3 years up here. I'm looking forward to a possible revamping of the districts year after next. A school with 500 or so kids playing 1000 student schools year in and year out is very tuff. Add in a dominant private school and it makes it down right annoying. No excuses though, you have to beat who is on your schedule. Good luck to Macon Co.

As for student numbers, who cares westmorland dressed out 6 more players than macon.Washing down crow with wine...

  10. Macon loses here and drops to 3-6. It's hard to believe I am saying that after the Tigers were thought to be a challenger for the District 9-AA title this preseason. The wheels are coming off and I am already hearing rumors of Pemberton's departure to Kingston at the end of the season.

We are hearing the same down here on the creekbank. In my opinion, Macon County has two very good head coaches in Pemberton (MCHS) and Shoulders (RBS). Both of which is rumored to be heading to new head coaching positions, Pemberton to Kingston and Shoulders to Wilson Central. If this is so I wish both of them nothing but the best of luck, but hate to see them leave. Both seemed to take over struggling programs and have them going in the right direction. We play both of them and I hate to see either coach leave. Pemberton has Macon playing on another level when they have played us for the last two years. Seems like they were on another level when they played Goodpasture too. If they can play like that this week I say Macon wins by 10. TC1

  11. From what I can tell, Monterey has never beaten Trousdale in school history. The closest contest was in 2006 when the score was 19-35. The largest margin of victory was 91-0 in 1997. I expect this game to end up somewhere between those two.

The mercy rule, may save Monterey, may need to start clock now. TC1

  12. Everyone talked up this MC QB up. He played decent and ran hard when he tucked it, but Phillips was much better than that kid. At least Phillips can throw the ball. MC QB does hand off well, I'll give him that. Dekalb defense is still suspect, giving up too many yards rushing. They are too slow reacting to the ball.

Hometown cooking from the ref's. Clock keeper gave MC extra time. It didn't matter, MC couldn't stop Dekalb's offense. Coaching? Talk was MC coaching was better...He forgot to coach defense at the end of the game and allowed Dekalb to throw all over them and then run it in the end zone on a QB sneaker...A QB SNEAKER...come on...

The Macon offense is not really suited to throw, kinda tough to compare qbs one running shotgun 4 to 5 wide, other having to fake then find 1 and the most 2 recievres running a route.Good football game, all the way to the end.It may not be either of the qbs stats that will matter.Neither of you can play D,and thats what win state championships.TC1

  13. Very boring and sloppy game besides the last quarter... Macon played so conservative that they almost lost the game. Grace made very bad throws at times but redeemed himself late. They won and thats all that matters. Tigers better step it up or the Owls will make you suffer next week. Go Blue :flower:

Take it your no Grace fan.TC off this week,I came to watch him,13 of 22 4 incomplete passes was spikes to stop clock, 170 yards 2 tds 1 int.Macon was beat in the trenches and could not run the ball.I am pretty sure 22 done his job great win macon, good luck next week.TC1

  14. you are right but it ant crossed our mind to drop them off the schedule and pick up a cupcake.and the crickets are chirping no smith county team has beat pemberton 'CHIRP'chirp

But yall did run from another butt kicking with little (2A)Frienship and replaced them with a cupcake such as J.B.! TC1

  15. What is all the tension from and why? Please explain. All I have heard is how several are upset about Jackson's coach playing an ineligible player and putting the other boys in risk of having to forfiet their season. Any truth to this? Multiple very reliable sources have confirmed this, what is Jackson's side of the story? TC1

  16. JB is not on the same level as TC. I'm pretty sure JB is smaller than TC and I'm sure TC can defend MC's wing-t/double wing offense a lot better. JB has always had trouble defending the wing-t type offense. Regardless of the scheme, MC was just too big and strong for JB and they got pushed around. I just don't see TC getting pushed around like that.

From what I seen out of MC, they've got big strong kids and some good athletes. They don't have tremendous speed but they're not slow either. I thought their offense was solid but didn't seem to be that explosive. I think I was most impressed by MC's defense. In addition to their size and strength they seemed to be well coached and played very disciplined. They're going to be a tough out for any team. I give TC the edge simply because I think they'll play better defense than JB and I'm guessing (haven't seen TC) they'll be a bit more explosive on offense.

What i heard, you had more troubles besides stopping the wing-t.Your O was terrible,also.T.C should stop the run game, same as last year. The pass is what worries me.TC1

  17. Sounds like there will be a lot of passes. JC's qb is pretty good, but he lost a heck of a receiver from lastyears team.

Im pulling for Jackson in this one, but I think Sunbright will be too much for them. I was informed that the QB from Jackson was NOT going to be eligible because of TSSAA Eligibility Regulations with his moving and participation with another program, which I believe was out of state. Heard this from multiple creditable sources. Anyone know the facts of this? Maybe someone from TSSAA can clear this up for us. TC1
