  1. I wish both of these teams the best and would like nothing more than to see one of them go all the way.

I was just stating who I thought would win. We can do that on here, right? Anyway, good luck to both and hope you have an injury free game.

Sidenote-The Viking players were simply devastated after the loss and I do believe that if some of them didn't shake hands, it wasn't because of bad sportsmanship, they were just overcome with emotion. They should have done it though-no excuse. But I don't believe it was to insult Boone.

  2. Here We Go Again. So last week Boone holds the number one team in the state to 150 yards of offense and only 11 yds on the ground and your tellin me that taylor is gonna run all over Boone???? IMO i see taylor as maybe the 5th best back in the conference at best. Thats behind (Shropshire: Boone, Sheperd: TN High, Sensabaough: DB, and Sumo: Crockett). Personally i was at the last time these 2 clashed and it was a great game but Boone has improved. I dont see Taylor having a big game. 50 yds at best. Boones offense has been clicking on all cylinders as of late. Good Luck to both teams and i hope no injuries. 1st round Boone wins by 10. 2nd round Boone wins by 9. Ill say 3rd round Boone by 8............ Boone: 21 South: 13 :roflolk:

Sorry, maybe I missed it but where did anyone say that BT was going to run all over boone? What I am seeing in this thread is alot of boone fans telling us Reb fans, in a round about way, that we don't have a chance Friday. One game at a time Rebs, one game at a time!!!

Having seen both these teams play I predict South a winner in this contest. Why? For one, Boone is waaaaay too confident right now. Two-South will be able to run the ball against Boone if they have all their offensive weapons(which, by the way, THS didn't have last game) Three-South has more talent, size and speed all over the field, and yes, I believe they have more heart. Boone is a good team and I congratulate them on their win Fri. night and their season thus far. But I just feel that time is running out.........South will prevail.

    South 21

    Boone 14

And the ranking of backs in the conference may be a little off. :roflol:

  3. I think there will be some adjustments by both teams for this game. With that being said I predict..........

    THS 51

    Boone 0

no disrespect vikingt but that by far is the dumbest prediction of all time. First it won't be a shut out and second just watch this Boone offense alot different from last game.

Just jabbing at you guys. I know Boone is a good team and they deserve all the respect they're getting by making it to the 2nd round. It will be a good game. I'm still predicting a Viking victory though!

  4. It's not like turnovers don't happen at this level of football....it happens at all levels of football. That's the point. We scored off turnovers, you scored off turnovers. We scored without turnovers. Did Boone? :roflol: Getting beat 51-26 and having to come back and face the team that did the whipping again will be tough. Say what you want....but the pressures on Boone.

  5. Sounds like a coverup to me. Especially if it one of the studs. For all the vikings fans that have been so vocal all year to get so quiet it must be bad. Is there something no one is suppose to talk about.

    Jush hush in the castle.

You have no idea what you're talking about. There's no "big" news at the castle. Find something else to talk about........that matters to the game that is about to be played.

  6. ThankYou.....for your humble estimation of how the Eagles stack up against the Castle Dwellers. Who do you think you are......? Austin Powers! Groov-y Baby! Your assessment of of the Eagles Defense isn't very accurate......or groov-y! First, your o-line won't neutralize the effectiveness of Smith simply by double teaming him because he has too many run stuffers behind him. Second, I'm certain the Eagles are more than eager for a couple of collisions with the fullback.....I'd bet on the Eagles #44 on that one though. Question: If Watson takes on the majority of the collisions with your fullback, I would think your Tailback is going to get hammered by the LB Corps of the Eagles, don't you? I have no doubt the Eagles have a healthy respect for the #1 seed, but if the Eagles find their Groove......they will have more moves than Stella! :?:

Well, one things for sure...........we fixin' to find out! I'm also sure you guys are more than eager.........I'm also sure you really don't know what you're getting ready to face........but then again, neither do we. That's why the game is played. I'm betting on my VIKINGS to put on a show for you guys. Have a safe trip and GO VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I don't think either team thinks they have it in the bag. Both teams respect each other and what they can do. There are alot of friendships between the two teams and I think this will be an emotional game for both. THS players have a #54 sticker on their helmet they have worn all year in remembrance of Jake.

THS wants to come out with a win and will bring their best effort as will South.

We may have overall more talent but I believe it will come down to who has the most talent, will, and heart. THS is tired of finishing 2nd in the conference and is going to give 100% this Friday to come out on top! Hoping for an injury free game and nothing short of a great game! GO VIKINGS!!!

  8. It was a great game Friday night. Boone played up and down. Big plays and big mistakes. They have to find a safety or will not be able to stop anyone in the playoffs with a passing game.

THS has a great team. They do a great job of protecting Harmon. He will not run it and gets out of the way once he hands off. Throws it away if anyone gets near him. I did not think Boone blitzed as much as I had heard they did.

THS showed Boone's weakness in the passing game and I think Boone also showed THS' weakness in the passing game. They give up everything underneath to protect the long ball. I think South will exploit that. Was not impressed with THS running game or may have been impressed with Boone's run defense. Heard so much about Keenan and Tallman and they did nothing against Boone. 24 had the one long run up the middle where the safety missed the tackle.

South and THS should be interesting. If South doesn't pull a DB repeat, it should be an interesting game.[/quote

Keenan carried the ball several times without significant yardage but you didn't see Tallman because he didn't carry it....not once. That's why our team is so good and our game plan worked to perfection. 8 in the box meant a free night of passing! Pick your poison is the name of the game this year. That's not to say that 8 in the box wouldn't have slowed Tallman down, but you didn't get a chance to see what he can do.

  9. Oh yeah --- by the way, if DB wasn't playing SH in a historic and possible playoff implications game, I would be at the castle to see this one! ROLL TRIBE!

I'll be in Johnson City too 71. Boone is the Rodney Dangerfield of " maybe the whole state".Even if they were to pull off the victory,it would make most say TH was just over rated and had some luck earlier in the season.I know I would bring some attitude up from the country. As for Dobyns Bennett,if we can't beat SH,we should stay at home and count all the good things that have happened in the last few years because we are just not a good team this year...Up until now,we have all the excuses in order, but there would be none for a lose to SH this year.

Sounds like you're hoping for a Daniel Boone win. Are you still a little sore from the loss to the Vikings? I know it must be tough on you Indians this year. I don't believe in excuses by the way. There are none. And by the way, Sensabaugh's groin injury had to be the fastest healing one I have ever heard of.

Maybe he had an excuse--he didn't want to be trucked anymore!! :roflol:

  10. Boone beats Tennessee High....Tennessee High Beats South.... Boone wins Big 8 championship since they beat both 6A teams in conference. You heard it here first. :thumb:

    Boone 24 Tn High 17 ( Fundamentals )

Even if I am wrong this will probably be the best game all year to this point in the Big 8.

I'll play Devil's Advocate and say you are right.... unless TN High beats Boone by 4 TD's....which people said DB would do to TN High....and which people said South and DB would do to Boone....and which the JC Press said SH would do to Boone....funny old world.

Tennessee High beats Boone, Tennessee High beats South, Tennessee High wins Big 8 conference championship since they beat everybody in the conference! :thumb:

    How's that for confidence?

    Tennessee High 31 (pure dominance)

    Boone 14

    :flower:

  11. It's going to be alright boys. What's meant to be is meant to be and it's a good thing it isn't up to us! All of these boys are just that: boys --and yet we talk about them like comparing cars. Which is faster, quicker, more desired, etc.

I don't know about you, but I think these boys are concentrating on finishing out the season with wins and aren't thinking much about what's going to happen after the season. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on these kids and how they play but I think if you're going to put a name to it, you better be nice. How would you like to be called out on here as a 17 or 18 yr old saying you're not as great as you think you are and your dreams are just that, dreams. Leave them alone and let them play ball. Who cares how big, tall or fast you are!!!! Have fun, loosen up, make some memories and great lifetime friends, be a good person.

God has his plan and great things can happen to those who deserve it and it sometimes doesn't happen to those who deserve it. Such is life-teaches us valuable lessons. Now, let's go play football Friday night!!!! GO VIKINGS!

  12. I guess CS is the next Barry Sanders then. :popcorneater:

Where did 6'2" come from. Problem is most of these people don't read the post. Speed! It's all about speed. Nothing else matters. Yes 6'2" is good yes 5'8" is good...if you got speed.

I believe you were the one quoting that Tallman was too short for RB. Roster says he's 6'2". That's where it came from.

  13. Congratulations Vikings on a great all around game. The team is getting better each week. I hope Shepard heals up quick. What is Sensabaugh's injury? Everytime we have played them since Sensabaugh has been at DB, I have yet to see him play. I hear all the hype, but for some reason or another haven't seen him do a thing. That's not a cut, just the truth.

Proud of all you Vikings! Enjoy this win and the entire season!

You will get another chance to see him next year and several more years on TV.Chris is a great young man and one heck of an athlete.

Batman...you and most other CS advocates need a dose of reality. TV? Get a grip. There are currently no Division I athletes in NET that I have seen. When you go through the recruiting process and follow through to the scholarship celebration it is just that...a celebration. When you show up for camp you see that everyone on the whole team is All State, POY, etc., etc., etc. At that time it becomes just an award. It don't get you far. So far from what I see Ty Garvin, Clint Phillips, CS, KS, even Bradley Tallman are all Division II at best. It's not just being good. You have to have all the right dimensions. With blazing speed being the utmost important factor. Everyone has this Division I rainbow with their sons name at the end of it. Trust me...been there done that. CS is a good RB and fun to watch. But DI? I don't think so. So he has already been offered? I'll believe it when I see it. The best most productive RB in the area is Bradley Tallman currently and he will not go DI. At least not as a RB. He will be made into a LB...and that is at the DII level. He is not tall enough. There are exceptions to the rules but when you see them they control every game they play in. Help or no help. And they don't get hurt every other game. Some of the best educations are at DII schools and even NAIA anyway. These schools are upwards of 30 grand on a regular basis. There is really alot to look at. CS's name will go along way in promoting his stock. At least he has that going for him. The elder Phillips told me a long time ago, "just let them enjoy their high school career and if they get a chance to play college ball and get an education then great. Reduce the pressure and let them enjoy this time in their life." Because so few can withstand the pressure of the job a scholorship brings them...at any level much less DI. So what I'm saying is once you've seen first hand what it takes to compete at that level you come back down to earth and realize that yes, you can "Shoot for the Stars, and if you don't get there you will land pretty high anyway-Knute Rockne'", but you walk away being able to see the forest in spite of the trees. Yes, you have to have a dream, but out of respect for the ones that get there it takes so much more than that. :roflol:

Could you tell me what the "height" requirement for Div1 running back is? 6'2" ain't "too short" in my opinion. Not sure you're too accurate with that statement. I guess everyone has their opinion.......but it ain't just so cause you a sayin it. :roflol:

  14. Congratulations Vikings on a great all around game. The team is getting better each week. I hope Shepard heals up quick. What is Sensabaugh's injury? 15. Your about to find out that big brother is coimng to do to you what we did to South. Expect it and you won't be to disappointed when it becomes reality. Guys it's just the cold hard truth. We own East Tenn. and always will. Roll Tribe Roll..............

WOW........can't imagine all the smack talk if you guys had a better record than you do!!!!!!!!!!! Talking it up is fun and a confidence builder........but not necessarily the truth. This is the one and only post from me regarding this game. Games are decided on the field-not on here. Buckle up..........it's on!

  16. Well, let's just say this thread has been entertaining and interesting! :popcorneater: Cap, I share in your excitement that the Vikings are for REAL this year but man do you go all out in your predictions! I do believe we will leave Greeneville with a win after 4 quarters of hard fought football. Our boys are confident and talented and know that they have the upper hand in the offensive scheme of the game. It is up to the other teams to stop us. We must continue to play good D and not let up......for a second. Everything seems to have worked to perfection and I think the key to winning this game is to not get down if we have some difficulty or things don't go our way at first. Don't stop fighting and don't stop believing! My prediction: Vikings 28 Greeneville 14

GO VIKINGS!!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! :thumb:

yes i too believe it will be a hard fought football game for all 4 quarters and yes you all do have a good team this year and yes you all MAY have the upper hand in the offensive scheme, BUT...you all haven't been in a battle yet, ya'll haven't been tested yet, ya'll haven't had a shootout game with any team so far...we have, we've been in that situation twice already with 2 of the top ranked teams and had chances to win both...we have the upper hand there...plus we are at home, the Greene Devils do not lose at home, that is just unacceptable to the boys on the team.

I think anytime you take the field you're tested. You either have what it takes or you don't. If you guys would have won either of your "top ranked teams" games, I'd be a little worried. But I'm not. Because you didn't! The reason we haven't had a shootout game is because they can't catch us!!!!!!!! :roflol: If we weren't a great team we would have just narrowly escaped with a win in all of our games instead of putting in on the scoreboard! The excitement builds........
