I wouldn't say dismantled. Maryville has been mercy ruling everyone in the first half. They were only beating West 23-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter. A sound defeat, yes, but not a dismantling.

Alright then , you are a swell bloak but I might remind you that the 3rd,s and 4th's were in then. If it were anyone other than GQ it would have been ugly. Go Rebs beat Powell.

West might have the best defense powell has seen (oak ridge was good) this year. By no means the best this group has ever seen, they scrimmage alcoa every year dating back to when brandon warren, dustin lindsey, randell cobb, etc were there. This group has seen some VERY solid defenses. Not to mention this was the team that beat maryville as freshman at powell. Granted it was freshman but generally maryville teams don't loose from the time they are 3rd grade on up. This wont be the toughest defense they've ever seen.

 

#2 is averaging over 13ypc. In the first 3 play off games his average is still over 10. I believe he continues this. Maybe not 10 ypc but he'll get close. I personally think the Rebel fans on this forumn will be in for a surprise Friday. Can't wait to watch it

West played this same "Maryville" bunch this season and were dismantled by them. Powell will have their hands full with this West team, their season seems to improve after the Maryville game every year.

Agreed, all four deserve to make it to Cookeville.

The two that survive are the ones who deserve to go.

I believe that most fans out there are over looking the REBELS class of 2013. These kids are tough and hate to loose. They are also an aggressive bunch and they love to hit you and hit you again.

This should be a national mandate. K-6th in Elementary school. 7-9th in Middle school. 10-12th in high school. Sixth graders have no business being with the Middle school group and being subjected to the things they are subjected to. Ninth graders regardless of talent do not need to be on a varsity football team. At least 95% circumstances boys don't grow until their Soph year. Some people will say that this method leaves the 6th graders in limbo. I say they need to not be forced to grow up so quickly. When they are thrust into Middle school at that level it is an accident waiting to happen.

Ask yourself, what is the difference between D-B and Alcoa or Maryville.

 

There is no way that there is a dime's worth of difference between the quality of these kids. Has to be something else. What else is different? I wager it's #2. Personally I think that D-B should recruit Rankin when Clark retires from the game. Rankin may not accept but it would be worth a try. Otherwise the status quo continues so just accept it.

You had better hurry a bit on this one the scuttlebutt has Rankin moving on to Catholic next year.
