  1. Fair question on Chattanooga soccer. Top programs after past 5 years have been A/AA and D-2. Look for Notre Dame, Boyd Buchanan, and CCS to emerge as top 10 teams, possibly even top 5 with CAK, possibly Alcoa despite tough tourney at Cleveland, and Kingsbury if they returned most of last year's team (great match with Cleveland at state). Hixson may also emerge as very good team. Baylor is playing very well right now and is well coached (see Cleveland tourney), and McCallie will be very good by the end of the season if key players recover from injury and the team finds its chemistry. Top senior attacking mid is back but not a 100%, still missing very dangerous right striker. They also have a number of talented 9th and 10th graders who will mature. AAA has been competitive but not at the level of Farragut/Bearden or Hendersonville/Ravenwood, as evident by success of A/AA programs against these teams. Lack of excellent club program in Chattanooga greatly affects AAA. They consistently lack the depth of the Knoxville and Nashville schools, for example.

I agree totally. Chattanooga has way too many small private schools to have competitive public schools.

Many of these small schools often will have two or three very talented players that could compete at any level in the state, but do not have the depth surrounding them to be very good. If there were less of these small schools, often with enrollments less than 400 students, then you surely see a rise in competitve A/AA as well as AAA soccer in the area. I believe East Ridge should also be thrown into the above statement simply because we tend to become a stronger team as the season progresses. all in all i can honestly say that i do not see any Chattanooga area teams, making a legitimate run into the AAA post season.

  2. They beat Signal Mountain earlier this week to go 3-1. The loss was to Cumberland County. I was told they were missing 2 of their main players vs Cumberland, I don't know if that was part of the loss or not.

I remember when we played SC they had a guy named Lupe who was very skilled. He should be a senior this season. Any team that plays them must stop Lupe to achieve success

  3. What are your predictions for this District?

    A/AA District 6

    CSAS

    Tyner

    Brainerd

    East Ridge

    Hixson

    East Hamilton

    Chatt. Central

    Red Bank

I predict that the teams will finish in this order: 1. East Ridge 2.Hixson 3. CSAS 4.Red Bank 5. Chatt. Central 6. East Hamilton 7.Brainerd 8.Tyner (if they have a team)

  4. i do not see how boyd-Buchanan can be ranked ahead of East Ridge. I understand that they are returning a lot, but so is ER, and in the previous four matchups beetween the teams the results have been ties or ER victories.

ER, I'm glad to see your still beating the orange drum.....You forgot to mention the good young freshmen that you guys have coming in this year......Good luck and keep beating your drum. :thumb:

O yes. the drum is still beating.

  5. i do not see how boyd-Buchanan can be ranked ahead of East Ridge. I understand that they are returning a lot, but so is ER, and in the previous four matchups beetween the teams the results have been ties or ER victories.

What does ER have coming back this year?

Boyd has pretty much everyone you saw in the region semi finals back. Think we only lost 2 starters.

This season East Ridge will be returning 9 starters including goalie Johnny Rodriguez and our team captain Francisco Solar who are possibly two of the most talented players in the city. Our team only had three seniors that started last season, but Coach Macyntyer did a very good job of letting underclassmen get playing time so im sure any newcomers will have a good deal of varsity experience. Does East Ridge play Boyd this season?

  6. i went to the ER vs Fulton game. Fulton is fast and diciplined and converted many 3rd downs through the air. they struggled to stop the run when ER switched to the Wildcat in the second half so it will be interesting to see what changes they make this friday. also Redbank will be much bigger and more physical upfront than ER.

    Redbank - 28

    Fulton - 17
