  1. I strongly believe that bullpen catchers play a huge roll in getting a pitcher ready to perform. but I do not agree when you say that they are underclassmen or not as good as the starters. they could be just a plain athelete that backs up at completely different position and is still athletic enough to catch, or he could be a personal catcher for a specific pitcher. after saying that, i want to pose the question whose the best bullpen catcher in the state? I say Garrett Talmadge at Siegel. He exhibits both of the qualities i mentioned above, perosnal bullpen catcher to stud Matthew Roberson and also a second baseman. and i think that iam23 will agree with me on this one. and slider77, even the most experienced pitchers get nervous when they come up in a tight spot, a good bullpen catcher calms them down.

    haha agreed

  2. Do bullpen catchers play a big role on how a pitcher goes out there and throws the ball? Just a random question going to see how you guess see it. I see it as yes, it does help because I know our catcher always relaxes our guys a little bit before, and during the game while they are warming up. Comments?

  3. How is Jordan Cooper going to manage at Kentucky and as a Major League draft pick? Didn't he,as a senior, give up 6-8 runs to AA Spring Hill? Dude...come on..Mitchell was throwing a no hitter before his 4th inning, at which point he just couldn't throw a strike. As a junior lefty, he throws 86 with movement, and the best changeup in the district...come on!

You think he will be a starter?? I don't think you can only throw 3 innings and be a starter at that level of baseball.

  4. Coach Parker has a radar gun and always makes a couple of players go sit out there and record both of the pitchers speed.

How is Mitchell going to pitch D1 ball? Did he not give up like 5-6 runs against Siegel?

  5. He didn't go 0 for 4. He went 0 for 2. Walk, Groundout to 3rd, HARD linedrive to center field. Now Blackman gets into the weaker part of the pitching staff for Siegel , while Blackman will throw their ace tomorrow.

How is Sisco not thier ace pitcher? Who is if he isn't?

  6. It's Gameday.

Siegel loses. left about 50 runners stranded on the bases it seemed like. As far as pitching to Sisco.... Why would you be scared to pitch to him? You got to give him a competion... What did he go tonight I believe he was somewhere around 0-4?

  7. On the topic of farragut ... nobody realizes that Siegel cant start any of their top pitchers cuz they have a district series that next monday. and coach reavis wont pitch anybody on 2 days rest . yes siegel would love to beat farragut but they are gonna have to out score them and that'll be tough. it is also possible that the stars and admirals could meet at the warrior classic. No telling who pitch's in that one.

I agree on that. Siegel would love to beat farrugut, but district games are what matters?

  8. Why do the folks from Siegel (great program by the way) talk smack to everyone on Coach T, yet their legs seem to turn to jelly at the mere mention of Farragut? Sound like the Admirals are in their heads a little bit.

I don't see farrugut is being in our head at all. I really don't know what packman is talking about here.. I mean yeah farrugut beat us 15-0 last year, they also were the best team in the state. Who didn't they beat?? Doesn't matter if the game woulda been 15-0 or 1-0 a W is a W and a L is a L. We don't have to worry about farrugut at all this year except the game we play them, We should be worrying about out district first.

  9. I don't know how all of our rivals looked but Siegel was very impressive for the first pre-season game. The guys hit it around pretty good and our pitching is deep. Looks like good things are ahead for Coach Reavis.

windy day at the park, but still no excuse for easy defensive errors. I guess just first game jitters

  10. A win is a win. Better record does not always mean better team. Nobody in the district is going to be scared that you blew out a team that you were supposed to. People make so much of Hammonds, but Siegel is more than a 1 trick pony............

Why would people not make alot of Hammonds?? He's the best player in the district... On the best team in the district

  11. We have no ego issues. We have come together like the players from one of my favorite movies "Remember the Titans". Our hallowed ground is the baseball diamond at Siegel High School...we are brothers and we will not be denied. We are blessed with talent and an excellent coaching staff. We have the will to win. The time is now...the season is ours. Nothing will stand in our way.

I'll halfway agree with that. If we are good this year we will figure out a way to come from behind.

  12. lol Alright ladies. You know we don't get out much and we need excitement in our lives.

    T-29 and counting!!!!!

    GO STARS

P.S. You rock man! Great picture in the dnj. Tell your mom Hi for me.

Thanks to whoever this is lol

  13. Better than Daniel? I don't think so. Look at everything Daniel has done. The 300s and 800s are great don't get me wrong but sport bowling is BOWLING. Daniel competed collegiately for a great school and bowled well. How many high school bowlers from TN have even competed collegiately much less compete with those guys?

I mean kyle you know that if i had more than one ball i would be good!! hahahaha.

  14. Neil got knocked down, but fought his way back. He's going to have an amazing senior year. A lot of folks have been praying for you and your family. God never abandons us!!

    T minus 34 and counting.

    GO STARS!!!

I remember Neil last year hurting his arm against riverdale, and he knew it was bad. Glad he could get the surgery done and do this rehab. Because I know all he really wants to do is go out there and pitch

  15. i have to disagree here. matt roberson is my boy but he shouldnt be on ur top 10. yal obviously dont bowl with him during the season

I would have to disagree B lol. I think that I'm in the top 10 considering that I've started since freshman year, and turned a terrible team around to a winning team??? Also you say they don't bowl with me in season? I was tied with you as first in district?? lol. 5th in state. Yes, there has been alot of good bowlers in state, but in my four years I've been bowling I put myself as top 10-15 bowler.... or 6th!!

    1. Kyle

    2. Michael

    3. Gary

Brandon will be there after his senior year is my prediction.

  16. Siegel is going to suprise alot of people. with watson on the mound and a deep bench they could be a force to be reckoned with. They also have a stout line up top to bottom. I've watched alot of their players this summer and tthey should go deep into the season this year. Don't be suprised if they are playing at home at the Spring Fling.

  17. Siegel may still be in first, but actually the standings tightened up dramatically with the Oakland win. Cookeville and Oakland are both 8-2 and only one game out of first place.

Siegel has an easy road ahead of them though... Shouldn't lose again.
