You boys from Hampton better be prepared. There's a fat, bald guy from Wartburg thats gonna sit behind your bench and call your boys "Mother F******s" and "C**K Suckers"! Not your coaches....your boys!
His wife works for the Wartburg Police Department so the cops over there wont throw him out. The T$$AA representative watched it all and didnt do anything either. So prepare for the vileness.
I was at the game and I know alot of the folks that were setting by the man you are talking about and they would not have put up with him cursing at kids, I think you are misinformed on that.I dont agree with anyone setting behind the bench of another team and heckling like that, just like I don't agree with the oneida student section throwing paper airplans at the wartburg players when they played at oneida this year. I guess that was ok was'nt it? I am not proud of what he was doing in no means and I hope that kind of stuff never happens again.

Well i sit and watched the guy direct almost everything he yelled (and he yelled alot)at the coach. You can only take so much of someone in your ear. heck i wish coach yaden had whooped his butt! so as usual we have 2 different stories. I have a lot of friends at Wartburg and I think you guys have a great coach,players and fans but this guys main goal was to ride our coach and not cheer his team. But i still say let the 2 adults settle it at midcourt so we all can watch.
You say that you can only take so much. I see players get heckled by student sections every game all game long. I have yet to see a player go to the student section and threaten any of them. The point of the matter is your coach is an adult and a teacher of your kids you do not lose your cool like that. Your coach is sending the message that if someone gets on your nerves you need to fight. Thats the wrong message to send in my book.

Congrats to Wartburg, you guys earned it. No excuses coming from me we were just outplayed,again. But the guy who kept heckling our coach is an Idiot. You expect something like that from kids, but not from a short,fat,bald guy who looks like he couldn't spell "Ball" let alone play the game. I wish him and coach Yaden could have just went at it at halftime(would have been the best halftime show of the tourney). I am disappointed in the Admin.,and law enforcement for letting the guy back in and then they let him stand right down at the end of our bench. (Must have been someones relative), I know there is alot of good fans at Wartburg but this guy isn't one of them. Hope to see you at the Boro!
What the fan was doing may not of been right. I myself dont care much for that kind of stuff, but when your coach turned around and told him that he would whoop his you know what, in front of his own players and other fans was a lot worse than a heckling fan. As a coach you got to have more self control than that. Congrats to the players from Onieda on a good season and good luck when you play Cloudland.

No Sunbright had all there players playing there all state QB showed his self on the side lines after the game Wartburg was the one short handed 3-4 starters out and one that quit the team last week Wartburg had a game plan and the kids stuck to it Wartburg ran the ball more than normal and never would snap the ball until the 5 second count was on just like you would do a team that run's up and down the floor in basketball slow it down keep your self in the game
OLDSCHOOL You are dead on with your post. The kids really bought into the game plan that the coaches put in. Coach Ellison was really hearing it from some of the fans during the game for all the run plays that were being called and for milking the clock. The best way to beat a high powerd offence is to keep them off the field that was what Wartburg did. I don't want to leave out the defence, best defencive outing I seen all year good game plan on the defencive side of the ball as well. Good Luck in the Playoffs!!

we cant wait to be them puppys. i here there is bunch of kids not playing for new puppy coach. is this true? that coach needs to get some off lessons from are coach stephens.
I think Coach Ellison's offence put up 41 points last year when Wartburg destroyed sunbright 41-21. Looks like coach stephens might want to come and set in on one of Coach Ellison's offencive sesions. Oh and by the way did you injoy watching Wartburg show you how a real spread offence is run. Players quiting I don't think so everyone wants to play for a winning program.

Up 6 Touchdowns with four minutes left in the game a fight breaks out. The blame is on Wartburg's coaches. You've ran the score up all year, and now you're going to have to play a game next week against a very good team, and you're prolly gonna have a couple KEY starters on the bench because you were too stubborn to take out your starters. The kid from OZ did what every other 18 year old kid wants to do when they're losing big and you look across and it's still the starters. Maybe the Wartburg coaches will take a little lesson in sportsmanship.
Wartburg had pulled there starters already in the last series that OS had the ball, don't get on here bashing the coaches when it is playoff time you got to seal the deal. OS made a big come back when they played Sunbright Wartburg just made sure it did'nt happen to them. There were no ejections last night so there will be no Wartburg starters on the bench. You lose games and you win games and when you lose that don't give you the right to start a big fight you act like somebody and shake the other teams hand an you go to the locker room.

I seen nothing wrong with what the asst. coach did, he was just trying to take control of the situation. He did know the kid and he was just trying to calm him down. I hate that this happened because it is over shadowing a great performance by the Wartbug Central football team.

Hey ole tiger glad you could make it to the game friday. You finaly got to see what a real spread offence looked like, not that so called spread you run at sunbright. You want admit it but I know what your thinking how in the world are we going to stop that offence, and by the way you don't have the right to down a team intil you play them. Harriman is a good football team and would beat sunbright all over the field.

ole tiger (or is this scott stephens) You want to talk about stats, you want to talk about how good your team is here is the combined win lose records for the teams you played last year 37 wins 65 loses. Here is the teams that Wartburg "Air Raid" Central played 49 wins 53 loses now who plays an easier schedule?

I dont think it will be much good. We wont be there. They had crazy rules that wouldnt let us throw screen passes and stuff. I heard Fartburg and Jokedale are there so I bet it wont be any good. Those two teams couldnt score with a pencil.
I went to the passing league, Oakdale looked much improved they look like they have things going in the right direction. Wartburg looked very impressive for there first year running a no huddle offence, oletiger by week 10 I don't thing you will be able to put the whole town of sunbright on the field and stop that offence.

I would say the reason was he is not a teacher if your not a teacher, you must be an asst. coach for 5 years to be a head coach.

Answer me this when is the last time Fartburg I mean Whatburg has been relivint in football? They can only compete with smaller schools than them. They have 4 times as many kids as us an they get lucky and beat us. They wouldnt play us when we had some of the best teams this county has ever seen. Blowfield I mean Chokefield doesnt have nothing any more they talk a big game but cant back it up. Oakdale well there just jokedale. We havent beaten Fartburg in a while because they wouldnt play us for a long time. We beat Blowfield a few years ago. Beat them bad like were going to do this year.
WE won't get into who would not play who, we will never see eye to eye on that one that horse has been beat to death. In 2000 that was the year sunbright had there "dream season" 10-1. The very next year they rolled into Wartburg all people heard was this is the year we beat Wartburg, That did not happen sunbright lost 27-6. Here is some more history for you in 1995 sunbright was 4-0 when they played, Wartburg dominated 41-20 if I remember correctly Wartburg pulled the starters when it was 41-6.

Here is my take. Youre not very bright. Our biggest game isnt Fartburg. They got 3 times more kids than we do. We dont have to beat them for playoffs. They got lucky to beat us last year. They wont get as lucky this year.
Its spelled WARTBURG learn how to spell you idiot. Was it luck when Travis Hamby went 80 yards for a touchdown last year, or every time you got to the red zone you were shut down (most of the time it was a turnover by the way). The better team won end of story. You managed to get an excuse in there to did'nt you. Your lucky you don't have to beat Wartburg to get to the playoffs you guys would never go.

Why don't you just shut your mouth and have a little respect for other teams! Your from Sunbright and last time people checked your one of the celler dwellers in 1a, put your money where your mouth is, play some real ball teams, don't brag about beating Wartburg or Oakdale, and go deep in the playoffs then you can talk!! For the record your program isn't half the program you go against at Coalfield, that's the real ball team in your district!
I agree with some of your post, but they have not beat Wartburg in years, and this year won't be any different. My opion Wartburg is the top program in Morgan Co. right now.

Its about time the paper had something about the Sunbright football. It was a good report accept the fact it didnt tell how bad we beat Karns. I thought we beat Union County worst than 3-0? Well anyway maybe we will get respect from other county teams now. Cant wait for the season to start. Go Tigers!!!!!
You want respect from the other county teams, I will tell you how 1st. you stop getting on this board and running your mouth and putting other teams down. 2nd you start beating them consistantly, last time i checked it been a while since you beat Coalfield or Wartburg. Lastly when you do win a game try winning with a little class.

On a mission? Oh, you mean like the Blues Brothers -"a mission from God?" You're saying Wartburg never wins? Except in the early 2000's when they went to the playoffs beating GOOD teams and blowing Sunbright off the field in the process! Keep talking pal; Wartburg, Coalfield and the like are going to be lying in wait come fall! And talk about coaching changes- seems like Sunbright had some turnover lately themselves....if memory serves me correctly!
They can lie all they want. They will be lying at our feet when we play the this year. Coach Stevens has been up here for over 20 years and is got us beleiving. We were undefeted in 2000. We went 10-0. The Tsaa switched teams on us like on Thursday and we didnt have tape of that Lookout Valley team. wartburg wouldnt plays us for a lot of years and we would have pounded them like we are gonna do this year.
downanddistance I told you we would get an excuse. Why is it when sunbright gets beat the first thing you hear is "we were cheated". Why can't you admit that most of the time the better team wins. I used to like to see sunbright do good because they are a small school, but ever sence i have been on coach t and seen the post that some people from there are makeing i hope everyone you play this year beats you like a drum. At this point and time i would not worry about Wartburg you got more games before that beating roles into town on week 10.

I can see why everybody hates Sunbright. We score lots of points and have a 10-0 season. When is last time Wartburg went 10-0? Oh let me ansewr that never.
You must be outside your mind. Sunbright has NEVER had a perfect season. They did however go 10 - 1 one year which is pretty darn good but it just says that they probably didn't play a very hard regular season schedule & then got their kitten tails spanked come playoffs. I mean really, blow through the season to get smacked in the first round.
There will be an excuse coming just as soon as ole tiger reads your post.

Wartburg scrimmaged cumberland gap not cumberland co. They looked pretty good against them. I remember when sunbright went 10-0 who is left up there that was on that coaching staff?

I dont know who the asst. coach was that told you that, but coach Ellison needs to fire him because they dont know much about football. I was there they had a few break downs, you have that in the spring but for the most part they looked very good. This team looked 100% better this spring than last spring.
