Huge win for the Irish! A defensive battle for most of the game. McDonald led Briarcrest, but was never able to get anything going. Ryan struggled from the free throw line and three point range, so that will need to be corrected before the Finals tomorrow night. Connley is tough to stop in the paint and will continue to led the Irish, but Mulloy is back healthy and can do some things on both ends of the court as well. Great atmosphere for a Friday afternoon! Not sure why, but a Briacrest fan tried to rush the court to confront an official after #35 fouled out. He was restrainged by two people as the police rushed to pin him down. An embarrassing moment for all of the Briarcrest fans for sure. Go Irish!!!

Thanks for the update! Coach Simpson and the Father Ryan Irish won the State Championship on Friday night in wrestling and then basketball team advances to the state tournament after beating MBA on Saturday. Roll Pride Roll

Great question! Ryan has played a couple of home games on campus and they have partnered up with a the church on Franklin Road to use their parking lot with a couple of shuttles running back and forth. It was not the ideal situation, but it worked the games I attended at Ryan. It will be interesting to see how Ryan works out the logsitics on the parking situation on campus.

You are correct, the year Father Ryan won the State Championship in the first year of the "Super Seven" beating MBA in the championship game at Vanderbilt. It has been a while...

Thanks for the kind words. The Irish faithful have been counting down the days for a number of years to have the opporunity to play football games on campus. It should be a great game day atmosphere and experience for the community and another nice venue for D-II teams to come play on Friday nights!

Father Ryan 27 Brentwood Academy 23 Great win for the Irish on senior night in their final game at Greer Stadium. The Irish will finally break ground on their new stadium this spring and should be ready to go for kick off next fall on Norwood Drive on the Father Ryan campus.
