probably wont end to well for you or your hybrid escalade

Y’all talk so big, but when Casteel took the helm, he whipped all you boys in shape. He kicked you away from the visitor stands, which I’m sure ticked you off. It was the right move. When I was there years ago, the terrible things that were said next to the stands wasn’t called for. I’m sure it caused a few fights. And if you come to a HS football game looking for a fight as an adult, you need to be thinned from the herd.

Yeah we didn't like getting beat in an OOD game by a smaller school either lol

Please elaborate. First, who could possibly be smaller than Oneida. Second, if you lost to them, you should pull that stadium down and let the team play Lincoln Logs with it.

After the mess Friday at oliver springs I just don't know what to think about this game.....if we play the first half the same way we will be going to the locker room wondering what just happened

I’ve heard OS is better this year but I was surprised at the game y’all had Friday. Guess the boys were looking ahead, only explanation you’ve got, I suppose.

Good to have you back on coacht. I can see from your content that it's been a while since you posted. These GB folks are pretty good, 1/2 the time. I've run into a couple of knot heads from last years group. Every school has them, I suppose. If you're going to be around Friday, I'd like to meet up during halftime. Always like to put a face to a name.

As much as I would like to be there I won't be able to attend. We relocated to Maryland a couple of years after our youngest graduated. I made the bad decision to look on coacht for the first time in many years and allowed myself to get drug into this conversation. My feelings are the same as they were from 08-13. I'll watch here for a score.

Well let me see if I may answer this one for ole Jimmy. He hasnt ragged on any GB fans(pops last year),he is busting GCAs nards. He undoubtly was around when Lamb and The old Ball coach was there and didn't like the way things turned out for most of the teams who played you all when you all had illegal players. So yeah I'll claim him.

I have a feeling he isn't as new as some of you all think???!!

I never intended to get this involved in the conversation. But, just like years ago, my blood still boils when I think of Greenback. You guys ran the score up on us every time you could when we were young and struggling. And you might be pulling the wool over most of these Grace fans eyes, but I remember you. You said some of the worst things possible about our team, school and coaches. They just saw a little glimpse of your true feelings for Grace in your post above. Don't be fooled Grace people, this person is not your "friend".

The answer????Hard to have an answer when playing store bought players. Not to mention the pass the hat and sell your bayliners so we can afford Bradley.McKamey wasnt getting it done for the boosters so go get the big dog!Your gonna need him with the other privates.

Did you have too much to drink during the UT game? You're so backwoods country that you don't realize that Malibu is the new Bayliner. Serious question for you, how long have you been around Greenback football? Better question, will anybody claim you as a Greenback fan?

yeah i remember those years you all were on probabtion and had THE team to win a state championship but had to sit at home and watch because they CHEATED over and over. How many kids and coaches had to sit at home year after year because the CRAMS had iligitimate players and played them just to have the joy of rubbing it into their face.Too many people being nice to you all...I call BS!

Cheated....there's the old junk and the reason I left coacht years ago. 1 kid there, genius, 1 kid. Now if 1 kid could change a game that much in high school football that didn't touch the ball but a few times a game, then we should've recruited a field full of them! 1 kid! LfreakingOL! Come on up Friday, we'll get you a nice participation trophy for little Johnny and let you sit with the Liberal section on the hill (if they still sit up there).

Or could refer to the time Greenback put up 61 on grace in the playoffs and the player for grace knew his season was over by the 3rd Qtr so he started playing dirty and the ref decided to eject him and two of Greenbacks linebackers and had to miss third round of playoffs against Oneida. If I'm not mistaken that's the same player that got the school banned from postseason the following years and forfeited all their wins from three years he played. Innocent Grace :twisted:

Haha! Yep, I remember that one. 5 got his money's worth on those Cherokees. That would also be the last time you beat grace. Had to go back a long ways to find that W, huh? And by the way those 2 kids wouldn't have helped against SlowNeida. That running team hung half a hundred on you guys and beat you by 30, lol.

  9. I may exaggerate some! lol I tend to do that a lot. It seems to make the truth more interesting , and always gets a much more exciting response on here. I'm sure you and most of the other people I argue with are fine people and I definitely don't have a personal beef with any of you. I do however STRONGLY believe that private schools have MANY advantages over publics when it comes to HS sports and that they have far less obstacles to overcome to find success in their programs. If you don't see that you haven't been around small rural public schools very much. Your 2004 F 150 and my 2006 Ram would be the nicest vehicles in the parking lot 90% of the time! As sad as it is $$ makes the world go round and our small communities don't have much of it. GCA and other privates probably don't actively recruit like I say they do , but with the facilities they have ,good athletes , and good students with good parents come to them.... that's a huge advantage.

I'm not calling for a truce cause that would be boring, but don't take anything I say as a personal attack on you or anyone else.

I don't post very often on here, but I read and follow often. I've watched you trash GCA and bad mouth everything about GCA for many years on here. This is the best post I've ever seen you post about us or any private on coacht. The GCA poster you are referring to is a lot like 75% of GCA families, although I don't know this particular individual. I appreciate your honesty in this post. It has changed my opinion of you. And I don't expect you to stop your posts about privates, I just hope they will be more respectful of the majority of the group, not just lump every family in as a rich, spoiled family. Thanks again, I truly appreciate your comments (this time, lol).

  10. not debateing you did win it by the rules set fourth by tssaa but your strength of schedule ranks 59th out of 61 and ill say it again if hampton or cosby had graces schedule they would have gotten the tiebreaker set fourth by tssaa hamptons strength = 8th out of 61 and cosby = 46 out of 61 your schedule was so weak that your jv squad could have went a possible 9-1 or 8-2 with you guys losing to hamton and cosby

    GCA Hater.......

Congrats to Greenback, they deserve all the respect that is due them. Best of luck against Oneida. You'll have to do it without two of your players, as they chose to fight instead of play ball.

  11. you did get the # 1 seed and the trophy but thanks to the schedule that was set up by the previous coach you guys won the tie breaker. overall record of the teams that hampton, cosby and grace played.

    Hampton 52 wins 48 loss winning % 52%

    Cosby 40 wins 60 loss winning % 40%

    Grace 34 wins 66 loss winning % 34%

so now i guess it is easy to see why grace won the tie breaker

Another hater, we won the Region as set forth by the TSSAA rules, no need to debate it.....

  12. Oneida or Greenback has no competition this week. Oneida is playing a team crippled by crime and we have the glorified holier than thou gospel crusaders. I'll see you in Oneida next week if you want to see a real game. I could take Bear and myself and beat Grace in two quarters with no help.

    Spoken like a true Christian.....

  13. I'm a fan of neither, but I can say that as a fan of a few schools (Oneida, Hampton, Sevier County to name a few) that i would take much offense if someone started a topic, posted half of an essay talking bad about their respected coaching staff, and then called statements about your own team "Big lies." Telling someone how to run not just a team, but an entire athletic program is pretty offensive. Stick to your own school, because whether any of these statements is true or not, grace can very easily be accused of running up the score on more than one team. That is something that people who didnt even attend said games can see. If there is such a huge problem then I assure you that Coalfied will handle it.

There should be something done when coaches attempt to fight fans before, after or during a game. I'm not saying GCA is without faults, we have several. The facts are that this incident did in fact take place and was seen by more than just myself ( see the above post by "newguy" ).

I've sat too close to our coaches, both home and away, I've never heard them cuss. I'm sure Dr. Stewart would have taken action long ago if these rumors ( I concede to you, I will now use "rumor" instead of "lie" ) were true.

I'm sorry you have a problem with GCA.

  14. Maybe they can all attend the same class. They can tell Coalfield coaches not to fight with the fans and tell Grace coaches not to curse opposing players.

This is the biggest lie on this board and it continues to be posted. I challenge anyone to sit in the stands at GCA Friday night and listen for yourself. The stands are right on top of the GCA bench, so you will have a great spot to dispell your rumors.

  15. pujo i agree 100 percent about the 1a programs and the small communities but grace would not know about that they have players from clinton, karns, powell, oliver springs, knoxville christian school, and thats not to small a community they are not playing with just community kids like GB, Harriman Hampton cosby coalfield and the rest of the schools in region 1and 2 thats real community 1a football

That's what happens when you have a school in a big city that everyone would like to attend, you pull from several different communities. It just so happens that we are single A. I can assure you that our "Grace" community is tight and strong, just as other communities around east TN.

  16. I don't know what criteria they used. I guessed they just looked at sheer numbers except for the RB. The RB from GC had stats that were crazy. Oh well!

I use my own two eyes and I know for a fact that Oneida and Greenback have two of the best lines you will see in single A...in fact, two of the better teams. I'm pretty sure they give an award for that too.

I was suprised to see that Amos didn't make it as a finalist. I know there are others with better stats, his were over 1200 yards rushing, around 600 receiving, and led East Tennessee in scoring with 25+ td's. He needs a big night Friday, as all of our guys do.

  17. The HYPE is the least of your worries. If you want to be in the game, you have to stop the pasing attack of Bunkie, and thats a hard task to do.Their D-line is pretty good to.Watch out for BIG 70 and 74.They will make their presence known.Gota pull for Region-2 boys in black in orange.

    GHS-35

    Grace-7

I was referring to the hype around GCA that we won our first playoff game, region championship, etc. I've seen the line from Greenback, they will have a big advantage in a couple of spots. Quickness, execution and a little luck (maybe more than a little) could send us to see you guys. 35-7 may be a little out of whack....especially if its raining, as called for.

  18. Greenback will be the toughest challenge that the Rams will have faced all year. This one depends on which Ram team shows up, the team that showed up last Friday vs. Coalfield could make this an interesting game. The team that showed up vs. Hampton will get blown out. Greenback is expected to win and should win this one. The Rams will win this one if we have our heads on right and don't get caught up in the hype. Go Rams!

  19. There's been a lot said about Grace's lack of class, sportsmanship, etc. on this board. I was at the game Friday night and saw one of the most discouraging events I've seen in high school athletics. When 3 high school coaches take off to the fence in a clear attempt to fight fans from the opposing school, disciplinary action needs to be taken. I'm referring to a call made in the 1st quarter against Coalfield and 3, not 1, not 2, but 3 of their coaches had to be physically held back by players and other sideline personnel to keep them from getting to the fence. Sure, you could argue that Grace fans shouldn't be on the fence behind the opposing team, and I would somewhat agree with you. However, coaches are to set an example, and coaches are NEVER to listen to or react to fans words.

I grew up in Coalfield as a kid, back when Coalfield was respected and had a great winning tradition and a program that was known for its sportsmanship. Somewhere in the last 15 years or so that has changed. I was at the Coalfield game in the regular season when we played them down at their place. That was one of the worst displays of sportsmanship that I have ever seen. Yes, we had 2 unsportsmanlike penalties, one that shouldn't have been called, the other was a good call. Those calls pale in comparison to the play of the Coalfield players. They played as poor a game as I've seen with regard to sportsmanship. I once was proud to be associated with Coalfield, however, after the regular season game and the playoff sideline incident, it is clear that I was proud to be associated with a program and a community that has changed and forgotten its roots. Not only has Coalfield forgotten how to be good sports, they have leaders on the sidelines that are teaching their players that its ok to act like thugs and their first reaction should be to fight.

You can speculate about "class" and we can go against each other all day long on that issue. However, when you send a team on the field led by classless coaches that attempt to fight fans DURING a game, there needs to be something not only said, but done about that. I hope the Coalfield High School staff and Athletic Director address this matter.
