The problem is , and I don't have any personal ties to this thread at all, did the existing record holder have the same amount of games and time when she set the current record? How many potential records could be in jeopardy of falling across the sports spectrum if a few games were added?

as has already been pointed out, they didn't schedule any xtra games. they scheduled two games after two other games were canceled. and as has also been pointed out, tssaa reduced the max number of games a team can play, so she actually had less time to break the record than players before her.

lets review: scott finishes 4th in their district with a 10-17/5-7 record. oneida finishes 3rd in their district with a 13-14/7-3 record. and the scott people are on the oneida discussion talking bout how bad oneida is? funny.

SCOTT IS A YOUNG TEAM AND THE MAKE UP GAMES WERE A GOOD THING FOR THE YOUNGER PLAYERS.IF I PLAYED THAT GOOD FOR THREE YEARS FOR MY HIGHSCHOOL I WOULD HOPE MY COACHES WOULD SEE AS A SENIOR THAT I WAS THAT CLOSE TO SOME RECORD AND I HAD DEDICATED ALL FOUR YEARS OF MY HIGHSCHOOL TO THIS PROGRAM TO HELP ME IN THAT SMALL WAY SEEMS TO ME,THE ONLY THING TO DO.THIS GIRL IS THAT GOOD AND THAT TALLENTED,JUST WISH SHE WAS TALLER.THEY START TWO SENIORS , A SOPH. AND TWO FRESHMEN.THEY DIDN'T ADD EXTRA GAMES JUST MADE UP FOR CANCELED ONES.THAT SEEMS A SMALL THING FOR A PLAYER WILLING TO STICK IT OUT FOR A TEAM THAT HAS STRUGGLED LIKE THIS PROGRAM HAS DURING HER 4 YEARS THERE.THEY DIDN'T LOOSE ALL THOSE GAMES OVER THE SPAN OF HER 4 YEARS BECAUSE THE COACH WENT TO HER ONLY.THEY JUST DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TALENT TO PUT WITH HER. some of you need to realize that just because your sons aren't playing doesn't mean that coah yaden has some sort of vendetta against them. he IS trying to put the best five players on the court. didn't torrey slaven and dylan west go into the starting lineup almost immediately after returning from football?

give him time. it's a new coach, a completely new style of playing. some nights you're going to look extremely good and some nights you're going to look awful. by the time the post season gets here this team will be able to compete with anyone in the district.

looks like coach yaden is doing a great job so far.

it takes someone pretty cowardly to get on a message board and talk trash about someone without revealing their identity. coach west is an excellent coach, he has an excellent staff (ALL of them) and some very talented players. sounds like scott county basketball fan is one of those rabble rousers who doesn't have a life so they have to try and make everyone else's miserable too.

I am having trouble understanding Creasy's stunt. Did the refereee make both sides refrain from using their headsets because they weren't working on one side? Then, are you saying TC put theirs own or left them on after they stopped working? Please explain.

 

How about some more IFs?

 

If TC hadn't run a QB sneak with 4th and inches to go, they might have made a first down and then scored a TD.

If TC had continued to run plays and used their timeouts instead of kneeling and running out the clock during the last minute, they might have scored another touchdown that would have made the score 30-10.

If Brent Ford (Mr. Football Finalist) had not been injured what might have happened?

If Oneida hadn't scored a safety, TC might have scored a touchdown on that series of downs.

If TC had played poorly and made more mistakes, Oneida might have won.

 

WHAT IF ............ (the list goes on and on)

i'm not saying oneida should have won the game by any means. trousdale was the better team. they made the plays with the ball in their hands, defensively they shut down oneida's running game and they won the special teams battle. i'm simply pointing out that this was a touch and go ballgame most of the night. some act as though it was never in doubt. how about this IF: if oldfootballplayer had been there to see the game, he might be able to give a bit more educated opinion on south pittsburg being a better team than oneida.

i gotta agree. that little stunt was very bush league. hard to have respect for coaches that pull stunts like that.

it takes nothing away from the trousdale kids though. man, what a hard nosed bunch of competitors. this was a great game: smash mouth, war in the trenches, just like we all knew it would be.

who is better between south pittsburg and oneida doesn't really matter, but this game was very much in jeopardy throughout. oneida had the ball inside trousdale's one yard line and didn't score (did get a safety a couple of plays later). an interception in the end zone by trousdale. a 4th and 3 deep in trousdale territory with oneida down 20-10 and a player steps offsides. reverse the outcome of those 3 plays, and it's a much different ballgame.

Lambert. not just for what he does in the win/loss department and he's definitely good at that, maybe the best defensive mind in East TN at any level. but also because i wouldn't for a second hesitate to entrust my son with him and his staff to help him become a good character young man. PCC isn't just his motto, it's reflected in all the players he has on the field.
