  1. I would like for all the Mountaineer supporters to say a prayer for one of our Freshman players. Matt Cline was one of the linemen on last years Freshman team. He struggled all season with problems with his feet, but he toughed it out and completed the season. Matt has recently been told that he will have to have major surgery on both feet to correct his problem. Both feet will have to be broken, bones will have to be removed, and plates & pins will be installed to hopefully correct his issues. The doctor said he didnt see how Matt played football or was even able to walk because of the amount of pain this type of problem causes. Not sure yet when the surgery will be, but please keep Matt in your prayers...... GOOD LUCK MATTHEW, we love you.....

Our prayers are wiith you Matt. Get well soon and hope to see you on the field again one day. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  2. i really hope heritage doest lose shane rewis as defensive coordinator

he is a very good defensive coach

    and the players respect him

but hopefully the new coach will bring in a four front rather than a three man front

which coach shane has coached before

I think keeping Shane is agreat idea. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> But the defense has to go. Heritage does not have the speed to play the 3 - 5. I hope for a 4 and 5 man front with some quick hard hitting linbackers and some DB's that can cover and not afraid to come up and hit people. We got beat way to much by the passing game last season, because the corners wouldn't turn and find the ball. The good thing is , that can be fixed......

The new coach will have some good talent to work with in all areas...I cant wait to see what happens. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    Ratledge From Sevier County. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Who is he, and why did you post his name?

  3. Just a few I know of: Michael Cermak, Claton Shell , Min Tran, all will be seniors on a Heritage team with some good underclassman/athletes coming up. Sophmores to be - Chase Cline, Luke Eldridge, Michael Clore, & Matt Plummer all will fit in well with a good core of of JV players from last years teams. I see good things for the Heritage in the future...

  4. Sounds like a great start. I don't think Heritage has ever had a true strength and conditioning coach. Things may be headed in the right direction.... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Wow.... One coach designated for strength and conditioning... Heritage should have started this along time ago?

  5. Yea, I heard the same last night at the freshman basketball game. Guess we will have to wait. I do have a question, Is there a committee to select the new coach? How does that work?

I don't think they have a so called committee but the AD does not have the only say so about it. Scoot you seem like you are pretty well in the mix of things up there, why can't you find anything out? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Is any of the talk true about Jon Young maybe going to Maryville? I would hate to see that happen. I hope he sticks around to coach QB's and help with the offense. The kids realy like him and he seems like he likes it at Heritage.

  6. as far as the quarterback postion is concerned they have tyler edmonds and when he is healthy he can play, and just to throw this out the and might be a shock to some and to other we all know this kid has an arm jordan correll has made the decsion to move to quarterback for his senior season.

Correll at QB sounds great to me. He can run and throw. Edmonds is very capable of playing it but he is not durable enough to take the hits. He has great heart and ability but gets hurt to often.

  7. according to people at the banquet the top the canidadates thus far are mike white, shane rewis, and richie wilhite. all three are good choices in my opion.

as far as the awards go all were very deserved hopefully chase cline will continue to play at heritage unlike many of the last freshman of the year.

including micha dando and tyler hartly

dixon was a very good player for heritage but more of a linebacker than a lineman but glad to see him awarded

cermak will continue his outright dominance on the defensive side of the ball next year.

dallas hill got it cause he was the leading scorer but then again not alot of points were scored this season but dallas was a big contributer this season.

brandon edmonds is a down right amazing athlete and an even greater leader.

all heritages captains were great kids this year.

    predictions for next year....

captains michael cermak, clayton shell, and toss up for the third i will go with minh tran

lineman of the year caleb allen

defensive player of the year michael cermak

    offensive player jordan correll

mountaineer award andy eldridge or michael cermak this is a hard award to predict

freshman player of the year... jake malone or jonah jett

Your freshman award for next year will probably be the Ladner kid that played QB at the middle school last year. He seems to have a good arm and knowledge of the game. I think Jonah will go to Alcoa with his older brother. Jake Malone is a great running back & plays with a lot of heart and emotion.

As for the other awards, if the new coach wants to win, he will make sure Cermak has 20 touches a game on offense. Offensive Player of the year and all region running back.

    Defense will be Minh Tran

Lineman will be Even Crockett or Caleb Allen

Captains will be Cermak, Shell, Eldridge, & Tran

Chase Cline will stay at Heritage, I know his parents and they both went to Heritage and both were athletes there.

Dando dont even play football anymore and I think Hartly didn't even see the field much this year at Alcoa.

  8. I am new to this site. I heard about it from some buddies, they said it was a good place to go to get information about your favorite High School team. I am a die hard Heritage fan and know they are in search of a new coach. Does anyone on here have any idea as to who it might be or when they will be in place? I looked at the other Heritage post but didn't get anything from it.

Before anyone says anything bad, I know we have had some bad years but with the right person in place Heritage could be a good football team. Believe it or not they have some good kids to build with and I hope some new kids coming out in the spring.
