  1. Just because someone thinks Player A is better than Player B, doesn't mean they believe Player B can't dribble and chew gum at the same time.

Boy, GC Pioneer needs to read this instead of trashing Rechelle Dye of South Greene. Heather Butler is awesome and as I said before I love to watch her play and I also think Rechelle Dye is awesome as well. Good Luck Heather and I see that you are going to UT-Martin and hear Rechelle is going to Belmont. Good Luck Girl and most of God Bless.

  2. You better find 2 post players big enough and strong enough to stop Reedy and Griffin! I know Dye can't guard Butler, Griffin, and Reedy!!!!

Your tradition your talking about with South Greene didn't show in that semi-final game last year...losing by 20.....? Tradition is the past! Prepare for the present and future.

Talk is cheap and can't wait to see Gibson County again. Gosh, you have won how many state championships? Wow you all are so awesome, my bad.

  3. Since when did tradition matter in basketball? Unless your Shelbyville....

The only thing I know about South Greene is ya'll beat us a few years back and we beat ya'll last year. That's the only tradition I know about with South Greene. The rest is irrelevant to me.

I've had 2 unbiased people send me a private message on here. Both have told me I was right. They both have watched Butler and Dye play. Thanks and have a great day!!!

GC Pioneer get over yourself can't wait to beat you in March. Why don't you read up on South Greene and you with your one State Championship will figure out tradition. God Bless and Good Luck on you season.

  4. I disagree. This was on of Rechelle's worst games. Yeah Butler was better this game, but when your down and your team is giving up, your gonna play bad. Plus, Butler is more a scoring point guard. College point guards arent big scorers. Rechelle is a great passer. In a close game i feel, these two would be fairly even.

Keep talking Gibson County, you can not even come close to South Greene's tradition and as for Rechelle she has some solid D1 schools as well and Heather Butler I love to watch you play, you are a great one and I also think Rechelle Dye is a great one as well. I hope to see you in March. God Bless

South Greene got its volleyball season off to a good start with a home win over Morristown West on Monday.

Morristown West won 25-20, 25-15 in the JV match.

    Good Luck Rebels!

  6. Panther, you obviously haven't seen Butler much either. She has no major flaws in her game. Her defense is outstanding, she can shoot against anyone, she sets her players up for open shots, great FT shooter, oh yea...led her team to a state championship scoring 26, 32, and 18 points in those 3 state tournament games. As noted, Butler dominated Rechelle in the state tournament game, that being Butler's 32 point game in the semi's. Butler is also one of the best players to come through GC and she will go over the 2000 point mark early this coming season and could wind up as GC's all time leading scorer by the end of the season. Yes, Butler was all-state last year. Butler has offers from UTM, Belmont, Union, MTSU, and I'm sure there's many others that have shown interest. I personally see her going to UT-Martin, but that's just a guess from me. In no way am I knocking Rechelle in my post, just stating my opinion.

First of all Butler did not dominate Rechelle at the State Tournament and Gibson County has the big head just a little since they won the state championship and that's great enjoy it because it is awesome. South Greene has a lot of tradition as well 4 state titles and 3 runner-ups and have appeared for many, many years to the state tourny. I hope and pray that South Greene and Gibson County make it to the State and get a chance to play again for Rechelle's sake because I can assure from what I know about this kid she will work her butt off to get back there and show you just what she can do. GoD Bless and good luck to both Butler and Dye two very good Point Guards.

  7. I know what kind of player Rachelle is. She's good, don't get me wrong, very good. I just feel Butler is the better PG and have strong evidence to back it up. I saw Rechelle all through the state tournaments this last year as I was there watching Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. She is a very good player. What kind of offers is she holding?

Lauren Avant is the best in the state, no doubt. Headed to UT! Good Luck to her!

I hear Belmont Univ., ETSU, Carson Newman and a few others, she has not said anything she is concentrating on volleyball right now , she is a three sport player and #1 in her class , which I think is great for a "good player". Good Luck Rechelle we at South Greene Love you and think you are a Great Player and Kid.

  8. Best in East Tennessee

    1. Taylor Mills-pure pt guard, great vision in transition, good floor leader,

can score and has excellent 3pt touch, inteligent player, uses her

body well, great forward lean in transition,

    2. Haley Helson-great handles, very skilled, lots of talent, strong with the ball,

has the ability to go by a defender, not afraid to take you off

the bounce, great forward lean in transition, nice passer

    3. Rachel Dye-skilled player, good floor leader, competitor, winner, can score and

    has nice shooting touch

4.Megan Fanney-knows her roll, doesn't make many mistakes, strong to the right,

    good defender, can penitrate

I agree in no certain order these are the best in East Tn and the State.

  9. ESPN's "Hoopgoob's" list is just as bad as Bolus's..........the lists are all about the ties you have to AAU/Travel clubs and has very little to do with the kind of player you are. Ask all the high school coaches and 90% of them will tell you they have never been contacted about any of the so-called "experts" about their players. Everyone in the women's game has gotten all caught up in the "Hoopgoobs"/Ratings hoopla and forgotten that there are good players all across the state. There are kids in Bolus's top 10 that Hoopgoobs doesn't even rate.

The ratings don't mean much in my opinion. Just my two cents worth........ :D

    Amen!

  10. Clearly, something is flawed in the selection process. I will not bad-mouth any of the selectees, but you will never convince me that Oliver was not one of the state's top 15 single A players and Pietrowski and Dye in AA. It is a shame that players have all-state careers and are left off the team. I also think that the team loses its luster when the selection process fails to select the best players from across the state. Fix it please!

    AMEN
