  1. F5 govman isnt starting a rumor, its the truth GR took the kid on a tour of the school and told him the benefits of AHS over WB thats straight from the kids parent so keep telling yourself it isnt true everyone knows.

Do you have any idea how many kids and parents show up at AHS each year looking to transfer? They come from all over. GR is the Vice principal and generally leads all the tours to families that show intrest in AHS. Get real. The parent in question is most likley stretching this the situation to make his decision look to hard to pass up or inflate the ability of his kid.

Heck, GR even tours the band parents and students. Heard we got a top tuba blower WB last week....... /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> I think the chess team is looking also....got any of those we can recruit? By the looks of our basketball team, we may need to get that Ballard kid some money real soon..... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  2. You obviously know who I am well enough to try to use my position to comdemn me F5Crush. I'll be glad to talk to you if you want to identify yourself to me. You can call me or email me at our church's web sight. I'll be more than happy to share with you anything you'd like to know. I'll tell you who the young man is and and everything else I know about the situation.

You're absolutely right about "Alcoa's success and strong community atmosphere" ... it's an awesome school and an awesome community. I have many, many good friends there. I attended some Alcoa football games and several of their basketball games and cheered for them heartily.

And btw, if you'll read my post again, I didn't accuse Alcoa of anything, I simply stated the fact that some people at WB did. And I left room for the fact that this might not be true. Sorry it made you so mad.

Everyone here knows who you are. No need to cry about using your position against you. We all know you are a good guy. But what a croc you just posted! I was at first suprised and disgusted that you bit on the recruiting rumor. I have never seen you do that before. Of course, I always knew you would never accuse Maryville of recruiting as that would be a little to close to the old pocketbook. The bosses son being MHS's star kicker and all that jazz.....(BTW, they do not recruit either, that's a croc as well)

There may have been a transfer or two, but trust me, none were rercuited and none are expected to be the quality player you are describing. Most of these transfers do not make it through summer work outs. Particuarly when they find they are so far down the depth chart they actually are and the fact they may never see the field. AMS continues to produce high quality.

The WB community must face the facts, the internal strife and turmoil that has been and continues to be documented herein so well is what is causing kids to leave and go to AHS and MHS. Not all this recruiting bull.

Look again at my post. I accused you of spreading gossip which is exactly what you just admited to herein. Quote: " I simply stated that some people at WB did." Is that not spreading rumor and gossip? I recall an early teaching "Trust but verify". Still good very good advice.

I mean you no ill will. I will stop here and let this go as I know you the entire WB family is hurting. My heart felt best wishes and hope that Brewer does his home work and finds the quality coach that WB deserves and he builds the team, school spirit and community support required to win year in and out. That is the only thing that will stop the county families from moving to or taking their kids to Alcoa and Maryville.

I can't wait until the F5, WB or Heritage beat Maryville. Of course, it might be a little uncomfortable for you at the following Monday's staff meeting if WB beats MHS. But if I know you, I expect you to be wearing orange and blue while making the annoucements on the following Sunday morning. That's the GOV Man I resepct. Not one spreading gossip and rumor. God's speed in finding an outstanding coach quickly. Just leave Coach Nix alone OK?

  3. The only transfer I'm aware of lately is a kid from Union Grove Middle who is a talented two-sport athlete (football and basketball) that enrolled at Alcoa after spring break of this year. We hated to lose him at WB ... he would have really helped us in both sports. There was much conjecture that this young man and his father were directly contacted by members of Alcoa's football staff. You hope that that part is just rumor and not truth.

Nobody to Maryville lately. Although I will say, you all have a very talented soccer player on your team that I think is a county kid! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

Yeah, we gave the family a $500K new house in St Ives, an Escalade, and $25K annually for expenses. What hogwash!

Absolute grabage preacher man. Kids leave WB because of the crap fully documented throughout these sad posts. Alcoa's succes and strong community atmosphere draw families like moths to the flame. No one at Alcoa Middle or High School that I have talked too is aware of any "blue chip" prospect from Union Grove. Prehaps you would be so brave to name this supposed prospect?

Please quit speading gossip and rumor. I believe you will find teachings against this in your Bible which I believe is the supposed primary tool of your daily job.

  4. If I were Catholic, id go after Meske of Webb, practically same offense (wing-t), 2 State Championships, over 170 wins, and he is your rivals coach, Kill 2 birds with one stone, he is better than all the other coaches mentioned..even rankin (its easy to win when you have a ton of talent...i.e. riverdale and alcoa). Give meske catholics line and he will continue to win state championships, right where pemberton left off. Just offer him a bunch of money

Meske could not carry Rankin's jock. In fact, Meske would coach water boys on Rankin's staff. If your statement of an endless stream of talent is true, then why has Riverdale failed to grace the boro since Rankin's departure?

The rumors down here in Southeast Tennessee is that there Rankin is definately a candidate for the Knox Catholic coaching position. I've heard from sources that that is why he quickly turned down the Cleveland coaching position in early April. Not close to the situation, but that's what I've heard.

Rankin offically turned down the Catholic offer. He is quoted as such in both the local Blount County paper as well as the Knox paper this past weekend.

  6. Read the post greasers. If the kid is struggling with his grades it didn't happen overnight. He should have gotten that stuff taken care of early in the semester instead of waiting to use it as an excuse to get out of spring ball. Hey, maybe the kid just wants to quit football and needed an excuse. You guys can use that "get my grades up"crap on somebody who will listen, and evidently his coach ain't one of them. And yes, I do think football is the king and should take priority. I don't condone quitting a sport in the middle of the season so you can go to spring practice but thats not what this is about anyway. This is about a kid who ran track with bad grades then decided to lay out of spring practice to get his grades up. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Oh, yea...congratulations on getting messages to all the proper authorities poindexter. I'm sure that will fix it.

I am with DOD on this one. The real question is how many other players on the team are experiencing grade issues? If this is a multiple player issue then we have a systemic problem which may mean a coach problem. If this problem is isolated then you have individual effort issues. DOD is dead on. Where has this kid's academic effort since Christmas break?

Go ahead and make your calls my friend. You just screwed your friend (son....?) and your name big time. I have put three sons through outstanding programs thus far. I have witnessed numerous situations like this play out over the last ten years. None...I say again, none resulted in any change in favor of the "wronged" kid. The people you call will be more concerned by the massive backlash from the parents who tell their sons to get with it, drop the X Box controller, skip the movies, or just plain stay home and get the work done.

The originator of this thread asked for input and then got real peaved when DOD gave the "wrong" answer. I am quite sure you/he will love me. That's quite OK with me. But go ahead and learn a hard lesson here. Bottom line is leave the coaches and principals alone. They get treated just like college coaches by us fans and the media now and get fired or abused for losing. So they are absolutely danged if the do and danged if they don't. Competitive high school football programs require total dedication and excellent time management by the kids to meet both academic and team committments. IMO this is a perfect example of today's new generation of a soft "feel good" parents and kids that want individual exceptions and are unwilling to pay the price for team excellence.

  7. I'm shocked no one mentioned Adrian Womac as a pair of shoes that need filling. He may not have gotten the attention T-Rob did but he was as consistent a D-End as I've seen. His side didn't get run on and he was a heck of a football player. Daniel Cline's another guy I thought was underappreciated last year, made plays consistently and had a couple of games there where he looked spectacular. Look out for Josh Evans this year on the O-Line, he's a heck of a kid and football player, got the potential to play on saturdays if he steps up the next couple of years.

AT64: Great point on Womac. That guy has/had a motor. I wish he would consider playing further. On the money with Cline as well. Cline was fantatstic and fun to watch. I will miss his play greatly. As for Josh Evans, do you mean Derek Evans last year's starting right guard? Don't forget big Marcel. He should play on Saturday if he has the grades.

  8. Elizabethton is going to have one heck of a football team this year. They will have about 8 killer linemen. 2 great quarterbacks. countless amazing recievers. No one stands a chance. They have outworked everyone in the state, and if they keep on going at their pace the Elizabethton cyclone will come home with a state championship ring.

No one stands a chance? Outworked everyone? Really.

  9. You know that's the only thing they can hang their hat on is those incidents. I mean, come on now Dreadz, they can't talk about what happens on the field because they won't have anything to say. But like you said, we'll see when it comes to the game. I love it... I'm starting to get some locker from rep time . I mean, my post been posted in Fulton's locker room before so if I can make Alcoa's locker room I'm a genius. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Just a reminder....in case your warped chemically infused minds cannot recall....AE was smashed, trashed and abused by Catholic 45-0 this year. The same Catholic, an excellent team by the way, that worked hard to beat a good White House team in the State championship. In case you have forgot, Alcoa absolutely demoralized White House in a pouring driving rain on their home field earlier last season. Nothing fancy, just run right over them. WH is a classy team by the way.

And you have the guts to say we do not have anything to say? Try Five in a Row baby. Never done before and will never be matched. Again, I ask, what does AE have to show.................are those crickets I hear?

  10. hey, that's 8-2 I'll take it... We, as in AE, want LAME ALCOA /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Oh by the way chalk up a W for the FUlton game.. and the OOOOO TA WHY (LOL) that's a W in my book as well.. So that means 9-1

Heard of many turtles but never a "big mouth turtle". Keep talkling pretty boy. I am printing all of your trash and posting it in the Alcoa locker room when the time comes. You are the best motivator we have ever needed. AE has always talked trash, but when it come stime to play the big boys (i.e. Catholic) you may excuses. You have scrimmaged maryville before and were beaten like a cheap rug.

Just a note, you AE blabber mouths have talked about all your skill players even to the point they are stronger than your O lineman. Its gonna BE A TOUGH DAY day when these AE lineman face the road graders of Alcoa (who are definately stronger than the skill guys. No fat boys here = all are extemely athletic and can run. Milan talked the same trash and I will promise you they have as many or more quality players as AE. And none were in the pokey learning pick up the soap or pick a pocket.

You have a lot of guts calling a a Five-time straight state champion LAME. Particularly from a school that has nothing of the same to show execpt five or more straight arrests and subsequent jail time.

But keep talking big boy. I already have enough to fill two boards of turtle trash!

  11. You appear to know allot more than anyone else on here knows. I agree about the good ole boys club and politics. How sad the ones not choosen but where told 3 weeks ago they were in, then in formed this monday they were not. guess all that bull they learned in school about being the best you can, being a good example was there mistake of believeing adults who are in charge and supposidly respondsible. so much about being a good parent and being an example. How sad these children must realize the truth of life. no wander theres so much hostility coming from the American people and gangs. guess the Gangs have it right after all. are u one of the politically correct informites. must be ,the way you allude the above respondes with your comments you must be a recruiter and a poor one at that. come on lets here how you are going to take up for the bowl now. The national guard chooses, well right, look at how they potrol our national boarders. how much money under the table did they make from the parents or coatches of the players choosen?

What an idiot you are! 1) The National Guard is the sponsor only. They chose no one. 2) the National Guard is serving in Iraq and Afganistan dying so idiots like you, excuse me, cowards like you, can sit here and run you mouth about things you know nothing about. Please, put the doobie down and turn off your computer. And please do not have any kids......
