  1. OK, GladeCats .................lets finish the season with win #2! I sure that the coaches will re-tool and get us back on track in 2010. Gmom
  2. Well said; I truly hope that the Cats can pull it together and win these last 2 games. After the season, I am sure that the WC staff will get the problems worked out, and get back on the winning track in 2010.
  3. Not really; I am actually quite dull. However, I am still pulling for my "GladeKitties". Our coach quoted in the "Tennessean" described our arch-rival MJ coach as disciplined, hard-nosed, and old school. Would someone please explain what old-school means?? I am pretty sure that the hard-nosed means that he will not treat us very nice in spite of the nice compliments being heaped upon him. thanks in advance
  4. finally.................a Friday without a loss!! I do not care if it was a "open date"; we will take it. How will we do vs Station Camp??
  5. Someone told me "Quit worrying, things could get worse"! So, I quit worrying.........and sure enough; things got worse! I was afraid that we might get embarrassed, and the Bears embarrassed us. Only thing looming now that could remotely be worse; is losing to Portland. Hopefully not! Keep your heads up Cats!!
  6. Interesting assumption from WC07 - Of course, you know what they say about assuming. As previously stated, I have supported the Wildcats from the beginning through the very lean years to the better years to the 2-8 year back to the good years & now a down year. To my recollection, there has been only one year as bad as this one where the fans are concerned . . . the 2-8 year. During that year, the fans acted the same - yelling at the coaches & blaming the players with statements like, "if your son would (fill in the blank), we would win. As a parent of someone who has played for WCHS, do I wish it could have been a better football experience? Yes. However, it is not my place to decide who goes or who stays and it sure isn't my place to act like an idiot in the stands. It is my place to support my team through thick & thin. It is my place to yell for the team when they do good & hurt for them when they don't. Mr Observer, I have been to all the games and I have heard the grumblings, but I have not heard anything directed at players. Everything that I have heard had been directed at the WC leader. Maybe you are setting with a different group (getting kinda thin where I am setting). I began going to WC games; the first winning season (under Alexander when Elrod came), and yes the wheels came off when Coach Alexander and Elrod left. That year was hard to understand and here is what makes it that way; there was a godd group of returning players. The next year with basically the same group of players; they had best season in WC history, and then followed that with another good season, and then the WC leader sends the coach packing (*note many parents/players think that the "old" (with respect!!) coach had a lot to do with that turn-around). Whether it is true or not.......or that you agree or not; that is what many think!! ( I do). Has there been too much ill-spirited grumblings?...............that would be a large YES!! So, get up for the Bears...........a win here could salvage much from a down year; after the way we played last week; it can happen!! Go Glade Cats
  7. great defensive game plan - Coach Dedman. The boys played hard and really deserved to win; I was a bit disappointed in the crowd. Lets get it together and get those Bears. Keep the streak going..........5 going on 6!! Go GladeCats
  8. We have chance for wins MAYBE the last (2) games of the season. The next 2 games are probably our toughest opponents yet. I think the best we can hope for is 2-8 or 1-9; this is been a tough season to stomach. I understand when the school first opened; they did not win for a couple of seasons; this is really no fun! Maybe the GladeKitties can return soon.
  9. wc7!! (3) things: 1.) I do not think you are a former player 2.) Your tale about Coach Elrod leaving just is not true. He was gone in the winter.............I know, because I saw him about that time and asked him about it, and he simply smiled and said his 1-year contact was not renewed. I also know that while he there; that he and Coach Crane ran the offense; Aric never interfered with them.............Coach Elrod was not there this summer! Aric; I think decided that he wanted to do the offense; It just has not worked out well; as I am sure he had hoped. 3.) Lighten up dad!!
  10. I just noticed a scheduling problem with potential for an ugly outcome. Our game with MJ is to be the Thurs night TV game. Surely that was scheduled very early when folks thought that.............well, I'd rather not say. I think that we have 4 or 5 year streak going vs the Bears. This might be coming to an end from what I am hearing from the Bears. Maybe Coach Perry will take it easy on us this time
  11. Maybe we can get our first win this week vs one of those Metro Nashville teams - McGavock. I hope so; cause the next 2 after McG.......... (Hend'ville, MJ) do not look very winnable. The last 2 (Station Camp and Portland) are surely games that we can win!! Can we make it to 3-7? Come on Cats; lets get one in the win column.
  12. I did think that was kinda funny, but your are right. I will cheer for the players; they deserve all the fans' support. I was really hoping that they could overcome the obstacle standing squarely in their path, but it appears not likely to happen. You can read the schedule as easy as I can, AND from what I can tell; the next 4 games are perhaps the best teams that they will play. Siegel was the lead-off in that group of 5 games and I really thought they might play the Stars closer; especially after the 2nd Half vs Beech, but these other 4 games might be the toughest yet! Let me finish by saying that I will always support the players as hard as I can.
  13. Not sure..............there is a "new" listing on e-bay for a "slightly used" offensive system (still in the box). Listing is by an unnamed TN HS. Make offer............please for my sake make any offer!! Have some faith. Your half the reason the guys are giving up. The parents need to help out more by cheering, not yelling put the cheerleaders in, and harrassing the student section. Lets us do our thing and join along instead of being Debby Downer. Thanks! I might just be half the reason.............no that would be impossible!! The "real" half is quite a bit fatter than me and getting fatter (LOL)
  14. Not sure..............there is a "new" listing on e-bay for a "slightly used" offensive system (still in the box). Listing is by an unnamed TN HS. Make offer............please for my sake make any offer!!
  15. There are two things probably wrong with this; and I really hate to say this...........really! 1.) It may not be this close unless the Gallatin coach takes mercy! 2.) Will we score??
  16. Whats up with Wilson Central? This is title of the post....................Very little is UP; most is DOWN (and maybe picking up speed), and we still have to play Gallatin (shudder), Hendersonville (shudder again), McGavock (third shudder), and Mt. Juliet (they may have long memory). Hope MJ remembers that we are close friends and neighbors (LOL). I was hoping (strictly for the players sake) that they might pull out an early win..........but it just did not happen.
  17. How quickly we have fallen; it is really amazing!!! It appears, that not many really care If we do not win this one; the schedule looks very tough until last two games, and by time, we get there; those might be tough as well. Can the "D" carry us?? go cats
  18. We are struggling! Maybe we can get back on track this week. Go Cats!
  19. You are asking a question about something that I know nothing about. I do know when you have the ball; it is offense; as to a Franklin offense! You would have to ask someone more informed about football. As to friction on staff; again something I would not know anything. I have not heard that My son especially liked Dedman and Elrod; he liked the way both coached and he said that coach Elrod was always very funny.
  20. My son was first told that he was leaving because of health reasons, but I saw Coach Elrod shortly after that and he just laughed, and said that at his age............he only worked on (1) year contracts, and it was hard for old dogs to learn new tricks; he just said that the 2008 contract was up! Then I later found that our head coach had decided to run a new offense, so we figured that this was the new tricks that Coach Elrod did not want to learn. I was also told by one of the asst coaches that he probably could have stayed had he wanted to, and coach the offensive line, but he knew that this would have never happened. Yes, Dedman is THE coach that the players do have great respect for, and I do think that we will beat Lebanon. Go WC Cats.
  21. Finally got to see the 09 Wildcats this year at last nights jamboree. The Cats looked OK on defense. I was told that WC has not scored on offense. Is this true?
  22. Coach Dedman, the DC is still there! (for now ) He is the best coach on the staff. The players really respect him. I am hoping the best for WC
  23. This is very exciting to know; if the average IMPROVEMENT is 3 wins. We had 8 wins last season!! If we are just simply average; then we have 11 wins in 2009. WOW!!
