  1. Right now I'd pick CSAS and Whitwell to make it out of the region. Whitwell gets good play from their guards for the most part.

Temple plays CSAS tonight do you think to nights game is a preveiw of what we wil see in the region 5a tournament? Right now temple is at the top of the food chain as far as district goes they are in first.

  2. Tennessee Temple takes on Their bigest rival.. Grace Golden eagles.. Temple kept them for close to a whole quarter, from scoring! it was a good game the pressure was on! the stands were packed on both sides. Both teams cheerleaders going back and fourth between timeouts and halftime. Temple won good. J.V. girls, and both varsity teams. they almost swept last night!! Whew it was intense what do you think about the Girls varsity and boys varsity games?

  3. Nike, no offense but your team isn't the best in town either. Silverdale is still building a sports program in general, a few years ago they were not TSSAA-affliliated. East Ridge is rebuilding its basketball program since the long-time coach is sticking to volleyball and it will take a while Last year they had 7 players in uniform when I saw them in the district and this year they had 11 or 12 with enough to play a JV game. That's a positive they can build on, just more participation. They played Marion County a decent game a week or two ago so they're getting better. There's no need to bash teams on here.

at the moment we are on a three game winning streak, and we will see aboout tomarrow we play claiborne, who tore silverdale up today. im not saying we are the best team in the league or anything im just saying that was slopppy basketball. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. Talk to your coach and be specific on what you can do to get better. I would say consistent strong effort, listening to and retaining instruction, and playing smart (no "silly fouls" at crucial times, etc) would be valued by the coach in addition to measurable qualities such as height or quickness. Shoot and run on your own even if your practices appear to cover it sufficiently.

Thats really good advice we have like 7 or 8 senoirs on our team and that makes it hard to get noticed, our coach rotates most of us in depending on how we play @ practice and thats the way it usually happends on alot of teams.. But i know senoirity is def. a big thing for us... and im only a freshman.

  5. out of the many games played yesterday i think that the Sivlerdale V.S. East Ridge game was the sloppiest basketball i have ever seen!! East ridge probably has close to 20 turnvers silverdale half that maybe more.. both teams had good bench rotation, but neither team was pleasing to watch? it was really a waste of time to watch..

  6. What do coaches[/us look for the most in younger players? Speed, being able to handle tough situations, what i cant excatly put my finger on what my coach wants from me? i am a post, i am not extremley fast but i can beat the majority down the court, i can shoot? i cant figure it out!! what do you think?

  7. I like seniority and experience espcially in distirct play ...I do think the young talent should get plenty of playing time but late in 4th QTR i like experience

Talent over senority definatley but then yea there is a certain amount of experience that a starter needs to be benificail.. There are alot of freshman who are considered better or more talented than upperclassmen, but all freshmen will make freshman mistakes; and learning from those mistakes is what experience is. So really there whould be a balance depending on your team. Ultimatley its the coach's call.

  8. It is just funny to me that the same school that turned in Temple in for violations just happens to bring in new talent...and yes I know she was granted a "hardship", it is very suspicious...as the saying goes sometimes "it is who you know..."

it is supicous, i wonder what their coach would say about it if you asked em? yes thats so true plus there are loopholes in all of the rules.. i wasnt elligable last semester because of some stuff last year and i read the rules and i sure cudda played cuz like i said many loopholes. im not insinuating that she is a bad person or has bad judgement or anything for those who have taken offense to this convo. im just saying that she has put herself in suspicous circumstances that many people have different opions about. im not spreading stuff thats not true so im not guna say any more... but really i didnt expect CSAS to get blown out like that.

  9. The TSSAA ruled the player you're talking about eligible via hardship. Since Temple is the topic I don't think we even need to start talking about new talent entering a school.

yea ok, that doesnt change that she is a school hopper... we have heard stories of why she transferrred.. Only she knows the true story what she tells people and what people chose to believe is their choice.. anyway Temple has talent... just needs to be emphazied on the court they have A couple three shooters, one of which is hurt.. if temple will be patient the talent, and the hard work will show through

  10. They got beat by the better team that day and played two good teams the two previous days...Whats your temple team doing to get better? Oh, playing hixson in the david brainerd tournament?

I know for a fact that temple is practicing hard on everything, their coach has definatley improved the whole tteam already this season.. And no matter what u you think Philippians 4:13 is a strong factor in their season. Who do you play for/follow...?

  11. Have you been around basketball very long? You didnt expect Mcminn to win this game? They lost in the AA semi finals last year and returned everyone from that team....McMinn is 9-10 deep and CSAS had a player out, and two players got in foul trouble in the first half, and Mcminn simply just wore them down physically.....

Not so much as win as kill CSAS... i mean the win ahh? but i didnt think that CSAS would just completley go out like that ya know? mean if ur team had one person hurt, it wouldnt completley kill you... atleast id hope ur whole team isnt built around one player... the foul trouble.. ha they gotta work on that

  12. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

If the Hixson game is interesting to watch then TT is worse than EVERYONE thought.

Hixson = worst team in state?

I meant because TT is going to blow hixon out, it going to be interesting because im not sure hixons coach will handle it.. its gunna be a funny game for sure!!

  13. CSAS having made it all the way to the best of preps championship, played decentley until their last game... The last game they played was against Mcminn Central. They came out on the court pumped up and ready to play... Mcminn was keeping the score pretty close at half time but still CSAS was in the lead. Jamisha feathersone had 2 fouls by the end of the 1st half. Gordon, played hard with 2 fouls at the end of the first half. We thought that Mcminn was too tired to try to catch up to CSAS; they didnt obeserve the many skip passes made by CSAS, alowing way to many drives into the paint. giving up fast break layups and just lack of enthusiasm the first half left them trailing... Welll for those of us who thought that Mcminn was just gunna come back and play lasy defense and terrible offene.. We wer so wrong they quickly swept the lead from CSAS. And in the end CSAS were the loosers of a tourney held on their own grounds.... They just didnt make the cut.. they should have continued to execute on offense like they did so well in the first half, and recognized that all Mcminn was doing on offense was overloading the zone, and that lack of realization killed them. what do you think? /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />

  14. They lost by 42pts to last years region champs...Id say they have alot of work todo, to make it to state...

I know their coach very well, and most of their players too.... I also know for a fact that they are working hard, and plan to back with some strong play at the david brainerd tourney. They play hixon first which should be an intersting game to watch. either way i think itll be a blow out? what do you think? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
