  1. Houston County had a big win last night at Community. HC has so much size with a 6'0,6'2, and 6'3 on the frontline. PG Abby Dew is the key to their team, if she stays out of foul trouble they have a chance to win it all- if not- they will have trouble with good teams because of a lack of guard depth.

  2. I can be satisfied with that-only down 6 with 4 minutes left. Tells me they played really hard and got after it. Houston will probably make some noise this year in the glass house. If I am not mistaken, I think the really tall blonde for them is a junior and played alot last year.

Breanna Boggs #41 started as a freshman, tore her ACL the fifth game last year and is rounding into shape. She is a major D1 talent. Madison Steppee #45 is a senior and signed with Bethel, Abbey Dew #14 the PG signed with Bethel also. Boggs is 6'2,Steppee is 6'0, and Olivia White- a junior off the bench is 6'3. Houston Co is loaded this year and are coached very well also.

  3. The Hayes family has some very talented kids, the middle schooler and the rising 5th grader are great players as well as Anastasia. I coached youth ball against the youngest this year and last, there have been a couple of occasions where police were called because of incidents with the family at games. They are the problem- not the kids.

  4. Houston Co will be loaded again with Abby Dew,6'2 sophomore Breanna Boggs,6'0 Madison Steppee, rising sophomore Bradee Wambles and 6'3 sophomore Olivia White.A good 8th grade class coming up also.I expect 2 of these girls to go D1 and 1 maybe 2 more to play somewhere smaller.

Madison Middleton is also a returning starter

  6. HC didn't show up yesterday. The experience definitely showed and UC is a phenomenal defensive team. What I don't understand is why Houston Co- who trapped and pressured all year didn't even try it.They were getting beat on the boards early and went big but once your down 15-20 points why not go back small and press, that's the only chance you had. I thought their coach had done an amazing job all year but it looked like he just got outclassed-no adjustments at all after the 1st quarter.

  7. I was there and didn't think it was officiated bad,CR was much more physical on D and they got called for more fouls. CR lost because its guards didn't defend well or make wide open shots when Meigs was clogging the paint.Quit crying about it and come back next year and win it

  8. Evidently you don't know UC that well. UC will be the "most" physical team in the tourney and they have 3 solid post players. UC's problem is the outside "3" ball. You won't intimidate them or press them out of a gym. There guards are tall and all of the except for 1 are "long" type of players. They will pound the boards. HC's only chance is to slow it down and play keep away. Middleton was a very good team and was expected to be there as well, until the foul shots showed up in the Region championship game.

I saw UC play three games at the Hickman Co tourney,I have seen six of the eight class A teams that are left.I assure you that HC is capable of playing with them whatever style of play that they want. I hope everyone keeps underestimating this team,Clarkrange is the best team in the tourney- that bottom half is loaded.

  9. Clarkrange could only meet Houston Co. in the semi-final...Look at the schedules of each of these teams...Union City's was very tough...2 wins over Westview (AA State Tourney), Defeated Livingston Co. ( AA State Tourney) on neutral court, Livingston split with both Clarkrange & Jackson Co....

I understand that-should have said  they would be top 2 teams. The way the bracket is I say Clarkrange vs Jackson Co
