  1. Hillsboro beats Brentwood 4-1.

    Ravenwood beats centennial 4-3.

I saw in the paper Brentwood run ruled Hillsboro 10-0.

Franklin beat Indy 11-8 last night.

  2. Congrats to the Independence Eagles on beating Franklin 4-1 last night to open up the district season. Coach Moore has the team looking good for a district run.

Also, the Summit Spartans defeated the defending district champs, Marshall Co, 4-2 to open up their district slate. Remember the Spartans would be Eagles if not for the new school and currently they only have freshmen through juniors. They will be joining the district next year and I would think they would be the favorite to win it all.

  3. I'm surprised a thread about this game has not been started. It is a very important game for both teams.

For Independence if they win this game they control their own destiny of finishing 2nd in the district and promising themselves a higher playoff seed.

While the Rebels must win one of the final two games to have a shot at the playoffs. To be honest they have a better shot against Indy than they will against Brentwood.

    So who does everyone have?

    I'll take Indy by 14.

  4. Great game by Indy and just what I suspected Centennial has played a weak schedule up until this point. Wins against any metro team are not impressive.

We got the ground game going tonight and they couldn't stop it. Looks like we will finish 2nd in the district barring a catastrophic collapse.

  5.

Really? And Indy didn't have any new players show up this season????popcorneater.gif

Classic deflection there. Yes we had two transfers. One is eligible to play now and one has to sit out a year per TSSAA rules. Unlike you we know how to abide by the rules.

Once again very sad situation when winning is that important that you can't accept blame for wrong doings. Whose fault was it again for the first infraction??

  6. I'm here. Just havent been posting. This will be a great game. I am still not sold on Centennial. They have looked great against a average to below teams. Game will be decided by turnovers and penalties. To be honest I dont like Rector after some instances he had at Ravenwood, so I would love for Indy to win.

Franklin fans need to worry about their game Friday when Coach Clayton makes the FHS adminstration look even worse.

  7. Has Centennial really played anyone??

Overton, Antioch, and Franklin are all average to below average teams. Indy is by far the best team they have played and will be tested for the first time. I'll take Indy by 7

Hillsboro at Franklin has the story line. To say there is nothing there is crazy. You know Clayton would love to beat the Rebels to prove they made a mistake in firing him. He maybe happy at Hillsboro but you got to think he has some bitterness toward the FHS administration. Hillsboro by 10.

Brentwood will get their back ups a lot if work in the Ravenwood game.

  8. I don't know understand why parent support is not there. It seems like Coach Lamb has done great things with the baseball program there. So why is boys basketball and baseball successful but adminstration doesn't support football? It doesn't make sense to me.

  9.

Somebody told me he got tossed and I didn't think I saw him in the game after it happened. On the return for the touchdown somebody got hit 10 yards behind the play. Some refs let that kind of play go some don't. If you didnt see be my guest and go back and watch it cuz it happened.

On the kickoff return the penalty susposedly happened at the 35 because the ball was spotted at the 25 after it was assessed. I did not see one block in back. I have it here right on my DVR.

Then on the long TD throw, the flag was thrown on the center who cut the defensive tackle. I have never seen a cut block be called a hold. I will stand by my claim that terrible officiating players a part in the game.

However Fairview's lack of discipline in Special Teams helped magnify those penalties.

  10. First off I've said before and I'll say it again when we played at yalls place it was the sane thing. Every call in yalls favor. All of them weren't bad calls. Yes the two tds Moore scored and got called back were questionable. He also played dirty all night and that'd why he got tossed. Page still played a good game and deserved the win. Let it go

Those two TDs in the first half were terrible calls, nothing questionable about them. The one in the 2nd half was obvious. The crew did a horrendous job and took away from what would have been a great game. It looked like they wanted it to be about them. Even the announcers on the tv were blasting them.

Also when did Moore get tossed? I watched the entire game last night on tv and did not see him get tossed? I saw him get a 15 yard penalty and that was it. Also, can Fairview not count to 11? Having too many men on the field is a coaching problem.

  11. 2nd Half- More Terrible Officiating. They call a helmet to helmet contact on a Fairview player when he hits the receiver clearly with his shoulder pad, then the Page QB had to come off for a play because his helmet came off and the ref allows him back in without sitting out a play. This crew is the most inept crew I have ever seen.

Also who is recruiting the WR Moore, he was unstoppable in this game?

  12. I just got home and I always watch the WC Game of the Week on local tv at midnight and all I can say is WOW!!! I have never seen a worse job of officiating in the first half of the game. These officials did a terrible job. It is a shame how grown men can come out and take away from young men. There were bad calls on both teams but in the first half Fairview had multiple TDs called back.

Even the announcers are saying how awful it is and they need to let them play. Does it get better in the 2nd half?

  13. Uh oh you picked Franklin to lose. Certain people will come on here and talk about zoning and how has affected the school. Of they lose to McGavock which I think is a great possibility, then we truly have an indication of how bad they are.

I like your scores except Indy by one TD more.

In this district I don't think anyone is within 21 pts of Brentwood. I didn't think they could be even better after Crawford left but they are.

I believe Centennial, Hillsboro, and Indy will battle for 2nd-4th in the district.

  14. Hogan can sugar coat it all he wants but there has been a dramatic drop off in either talent or coaching. I am going to say both. The FHS adminstration ousted a successful coach for this??

Webb is a great defensive mind but some guys should not be head coaches. That is my opinion if that bothers you I am sorry. I know how it feels to have a team with a HC who is in over his head.

I can't wait to see your response when Hillsboro beats Franklin.

  15. Indy ran into a top 5 team in 6A this week. Centennial is not a top 5A team. Franklin is not well coached from what I saw last night. A lot of players out of position on defense, a offense that rivals Indy's in simplicity. You Rebel fans can think you may a good move last offseason but your staff is now rivaling our staff for worst in the district. Webb is not a HC.
