  1. Ha, i never said i was part of the Trojan family but i still don't think they wrestled. PRT were you there for Lewis's losses? I hear from some of the spectators that Campbell had a broken wrist and a swollen ankle. I know it will at least be a five point match in the favor of Lewis but a two timer has to mean something. Who has Woods wrestled that is so amazing? He didn't even wrestle when his team went to the tournament in KY. :thumb:

If it is decided by more then 3 points in Campbell's favor, I will never post on Coacht again. I'm definitely not taking away his 2 state titles because that in itself is an amazing accomplishment, but I am still giving the match to Woods. This is going to be too good of a match to miss! I'm going to hop up outta my purple section to come watch it & if Woods wins, I will even be a good sport and buy you a popcorn, no drink because its a little pricy. Should be a good one, good luck to both wrestlers and everyone else competing at the ol' cow barn this weekend! :thumb:

  2. How did Lewis wrestle your brother? I think he must have wrestled another Soddy guy bc Campbell is 130 and he couldn't bump up two weights. I couldn't find the match online but i am pretty sure it wasn't him. Lewis stomps woods into the ground either way.

Campbell weighed in at 135 for state duals, you must not be a true member of the Soddy family if you did not know this. :roflol: Also, you must underestimate Mr. Woods if you think he will get handled by Campbell, need I remind you last year where Woods was handeling Marvin Lopez pretty bad then gassed. He is in way better shape right now, and actually is currently undefeated. Did I mention how Campbell has a couple losses to guys that Austin has beaten? So I wouldn't go as far as to say Campbell is going to stomp Woods in the ground, because I personally think Woods wins 3-1 in OT, my opinion.

  3. Quick question, at 140 how is Ronquai Love allowed to wrestle? If I'm not mistaken didn't he get a flagrant misconduct while wrestling Michael Gray for 3rd & 4th at Regionals? So according to the rules he would not be able to wrestle. Just wondering but am I right on this one?

And for one I do agree that they need to start seeding at state by head to head, because I have seen numerous times where people get worse drawls then others when they have beaten the kid that got 2nd or stuff like that when they are legitimately better then kids that place higher then them.

  4. Sounds like your regions are as easy as D2.

A 2x Division 2 placewinner, was ranked 4th behind 3 kids that all dropped down to 130, didn't even qualify for Division 1 state in the Region 6 - 140 weight class.....

Harder to place, D2 OR D1? :roflol:

  5. The Mt.Juliet wrestler was Matthew Seaman, ranked in the top 6 and probably would have medaled as a sophmore in 145

    *cough*....Junior.....*cough*

also, the 112 match for Blackman, watching it to me looked clearly obvious that he was elbowing the Mt. Juliet kid in the head. I thought to myself while he was doing this, I wonder if the ref is seeing this too, and sure enough 6 seconds later, the ref stops it, and the wrestler is ejected. What really stinks is that potentially lost them the match..well, he'll learn for next year not to put himself into that situation. Regardless of whether or not it was intentional, if he didn't go to his back in the first place, he wouldn't need to argue anything, hopefully he learns from this situation, as well as Mr. Seamon. :thumb:

  6. I don't know the name of the Antioch 140, however I do know that he has a loss to Little's backup. Little's backup also has a close decision as a loss against Parker Smith (Centennial). Love (MLK) holds falls over Little (Indy) and Gray (Ravenwood) but got teched by Smith (Centennial) & Smith lost to Isbell twice, & Gray once. I believe that the best wrestlers go; Little, Gray, Smith, Love. I think that the Little Gray and Smith are all tossups, but Look for Love to steal the weight class possibly depending on the seeding. I don't see him beating Smith seeing how he got teched, but he has a good style against Little & Gray and depending on the seeding he could win the region. Personally, I would like the seeding to look like this...

    1. Little

    2. Love

    3. Gray

    4. Smith

Because thats how it should be do to past region placement, and this year. But I'm not sure how it's going to play out due to losses & like opponents, cause I also know that Love finished 5th or 6th at the Indy tournament, while Isbell finished 1st, and Little and Gray defeated Isbell this season.

    Should be interesting........

  7. and IF the Indy match is close its due to forfeiting out...IMO.

I disagree, if you were at the first match, when it started at the lighter weights, Indy won 103, lost up to 130, won 30, 40, 45, 60, 71, and 285. Just so you don't have to count, that's 7 matches each team. Ravenwood wrestled their entire varsity lineup then too. They won by I believe 7 points in the end, that is a close dual, but Indy gave up more bonus points in their matches. The 2nd time they faced Indy didn't give up as many bonus points as the last time at all, they started at the heavy weights and Indy only lost one match that they won, 285, then won 103, lost up to 30, then lost a close match at 30 and 35, both with a last 15 second reversal then Gray caught Little on his back while losing and stuck him. Which essentially won them the dual. If Indy wrestles like they did last time, and wins 30 and doesn't get caught at 40, it will be a close match, Indy could come out on top, however I don't see it happening. Should be a great dual to watch.

Not as good as that Bradley Soddy Daisy match up of course. I might just slip outta the stands in the Irish's last match to go watch that one. :thumb:

  8. Uhh, not sure what you are expected from this post here..? However, when you say the names of these schools I will tell you what comes to mind, and what I think about the wrestlers.

    FRANKLIN-

Alex Bennett- Great kid & Great wrestler, very smart and solid kid.

Austin Woods- Beast, quick, strong, great all around wrestler.

Zach Bennett-Also a great kid & Great wrestler, has an enormous heart, and always amazes me on how much he improves over short periods of times.

John Shrader- Relentless, that word just about sums it up for this young man.

    Centennial-

Kyler Smith- Great kid, great wrestler, senior at 103, has all the talent in the world to get to where he wants to get.

Larry Cannon- A kid who has all the talent on the mat, but needs to work on the mental aspect, and if he can do that, I have no doubt that he'll be a state champion someday.

Parker Smith- Smart, strong, technical, great kid, great wrestler.

    PAGE-

Dylan Davis- Great kid, is a very underrated wrestler, he's going to be a little bit of a dark horse come state time.

Caleb Baldree- Great wrestler, have only seen him a couple of times, but he has impressed me none the less, look for him to also be a black horse come state time.

Not quite sure what you were looking for on this topic you posted, none the less I hope that I satisfied your needs/wants in every way possible. (Maybe not every) :roflol:

  9. Those are some very good predictions! I think the Clarksville vs Science Hill matchup could be the best dual of the tourney and possibly your only mistake (being you switch their next matchups)

Also in my opinion (this is in my opinion, so don't jump on me) I think Bradley will defeat Soddy in the finals, Soddy bumped last time, and I do not see Bradley letting them do so this time, going to be a VERY interesting match to see how this one plays out. I am glad they didn't wrestle the region championships, because I want to be completely clueless to what Bradley's plans are this time around.

Good luck to all! Let's get some D2 predictions going! :thumb:

Anyone want to buy me a ticket????? Come and find me, I'll be wearing the big purple jacket... :roflol:

  10. I will state this once again, Austin Woods is not a senior, he is a junior. :roflol:

Also, Michael Gray never decisioned Caleb Little, Caleb majored him once, and gray caught him and pinned him the second time they faced. There could be the tie breaker this weekend at state duals.

I agree with cougar, what happened to Rakim Talley? Last I saw him he looked pretty good if I do say so myself....

Good luck to all this weekend, hoping the purple team can pull off some upsets, should be a fun and interesting tournament down at the barn!:thumb:

  11. I think Science Hill drops in around 8th. I know everyone in the middle of the state thinks wrestling stops at the Knoxville line................but Science Hill is the cream of the crop (as a whole team) in East TN past Chattanooga. They finished 3rd last year and this year's team looks equally as strong. (They would have finished second but Cleveland got the seeding SH should have had). The state duals should be interesting this year.

I would not put The Hill that high, especially since they got a whoopin from a team that didn't even make it to state duals, Franklin, at Cleveland duals.

  12. lolZ? siegals? learn to spell idiot, It obviously wasn't a fluke considering BA moved around their roster.

After talking with Mr. Dupree, BA had 4 or 5 starters out in that dual. So with 4 to 5 guys out, there gonna end up moving their roster.

    PRT iii :flower:

  13. Heavyweight should be wide open this year. With Benson being beaten by Seely this week, seems like he might not be the guy to beat. Yunis of Rossview is undefeated this year, and has beaten Smith. He hasn't wrestled Benson, Seely, or Chapman, but he did beat Maxwell of Briarcrest, and Hines of Cleveland.

Yunis is training hard, and might be the heavyweight to beat.

This is my prediction, so don't get all snappy, and I have an explanation behind this one too. I say that Yunis places low in state, due to the lack of competition in his practice room. He has Tyler Todd, but Todd is nowhere near the same level. So I say he finishes 5th behind; Benson, Seely, Smith, and Chapman.

    PRT iii :flower:

  14. If your going to throw BA into the mix, you have to put Siegel b/c of the win over BA

I agree, probably would not happen again. This win was VERY early in the season. Siegel got stomped by Indy, and I mean stomped, I was in the stands for that one. And Indy had a good duel with BA in the Holiday duel tourney semi's.

    PRT iii :flower:

  15. Just because you were a champ does not always mean that you are a champ. Because I know guys that have not even placed after being a champ. Moving up in weight classes is difficult, so you have to train even harder.

Then if you place and/or become a champ again, then you really are a champ.

I disagree, once you have won a State Championship, nobody can take that away from you. You will always be a state champion, no matter what, no matter how you won, when you won, what weight you won at, it doesn't matter because you won, you will always be a state champion. You can change the future, but not the past, and the past would show that Tyler Pitts is a state champion.

  16. I believe they do it by districts (top 2 from each district), Cleveland and WV from R4D7 and SD and Bradley from R4D8... otherwise it would be SD BC Cleveland and Ooltewah (since Oolte beat WV). Region duals seeds should be:

    1. SD (already won versus Cleve and BC) versus 4. WV or Ooltewah (lost to Cleve & BC with SD next week)

2/3 Bradley and Cleveland (winner next week gets #2 seed)

They probably also wrestle for true 2nd in the event that (winners) 2 beats 1 and (losers) 3 beats 4 in the second round, or other possible scenarios. 1 versus 3 for the #2 slot for state duals from the region. If 1 beats 2 in the winners there is no true 2nd match because 2 beat 3 in the first round, unless 4 beats 3 and then 2 vs. 4 for "true 2nd".

You are correct, I meant to say the winner of Bradley and Cleveland at Region Duals will face Soddy Daisy in the finals of Region Duals. Your post is 100% correct though.

    PRT iii :flower:

  17. Not sure how you keep Bradley above Soddy here.

My top 5 would have to be....

    1) Baylor

    2) CBHS

    3) Soddy

    4) Bradley

    5) Cleveland

If you read my post I explained why I put Bradley above Soddy. Why Cleveland was above CBHS, and why Soddy was above Cleveland. Soddy has a win over Cleveland. Cleveland defeated CBHS. And I stated that in the Soddy vs Bradley match, Soddy bumped their lineup, I think if they face again and try to bump, Bradley will be ready and bump their lineup along with Soddy's lineup.

    PRT iii :flower:

  18. I agree with you ghouse that parity is the word this year. How does Soddy's win affect the region and state duals?

It doesn't, The winner of Bradley vs Cleveland will go on to Region duals and will face Soddy in the finals there, then they could also face in the finals of state duals.

    PRT iii :flower:

  19. I think the true number one team in Tennessee is between Baylor, Cleveland, Bradley, and Soddy. All teams are very talented from top to bottom. I think the bros lost to Cleveland at Cleveland duals but that was earlier in the year and I for one do believe that it would be a whole lot closer now. And Soddy has wins over Bradley and Cleveland this year. In the dual Soddy vs Bradley, Soddy bumped weights, and I do believe that when they face again that Bradley would in fact bump weights with them and would eventually win the dual because of it. If I had to choose between these four teams I would choose Baylor, but you never know. Here is my top 10 poll:

    1.Baylor

    2.Bradley

    3.Soddy Daisy

    4.Cleveland

    5.Christian Brothers

    6.Father Ryan

    7.McCallie

    8.Independence

    9.Franklin

    10.Ravenwood

OTW: Clarksville, Blackman, Science Hill, Brentwood, Brentwood Academy.

    PRT iii :flower:

  20. Soddy won this meet due to a much tougher schedule; they've wrestled 7-8 matches this tough or tougher already this year. Simply more battle-tested.

Soddy did not win due to a tougher schedule, Soddy won because they were a better team tonight. Hands down, no argument.

    PRT iii :flower:

  21. This is very sad to hear. Hamm was a great coach and a very funny man, and this is a very awful thing to hear. Hamm put his heart and soul into this team and to get what he is getting out of it is just pathetic. I have all the respect in the world for this man, and I hope that everything works out, he will be in my family's prayers, as well as in many others.
