  1. My Philosophy:

any grown man that goes to watch 2 high school teams practice in order to make a prediction= LOSER! get a life, a wife, a hobby, or something. just my opinion!

WoW, alot of people took time out of their busy day to think about my post and make a comment on it. Goal Achieved!

As for seeing both teams practice, yes there was a huge difference in both practices, I’m not sure I agree with one of the teams practice philosophy but none the less I can NOT go into anymore detail as my identity could be revealed and that is a big no-no.

Anyways, it’s my opinion on the score guys, take it or leave it... everyone gets a guess... that was mine!

Oh and the Central Troll part made me chuckle...

  2. When was the last time Farragut boys won a District Tournament Championship?

I have lived in Knoxville the last 30 years and i can't remember one in the last 15, its always Bearden or Maryville.

i think farragut might have won a district title when Brent Watts was a JR or SR (96 or 97.

  3. From what I heard, the boys played very well in both games. I am very proud to say that we finished in the top 4 of the state this year. I never would have expected it. Congrats Bulldogs on a great season and I can't wait for next year to get here already!!!

FEER, your bromance :thumb: with blevins is adorable!!!! good jobs dawgs...way to represent the east.

  4. I happened to see the game last night at Clinton. What struck me was the fact that the Clinton boys were fouling so hard down 7 with 1 second to go. If their coach calls his boys off none of this happens. The AC player hit the Clinton kid in the mouth with the ball when he was being fouled. Couldn't tell if it was intentional or not. The refs made no call at this point, but the Clinton post player then was T'ed up for shoving one of AC's boys. After that the kid from AC was going toward his bench when the Clinton player who's mouth was busted chased after him cussing. The ref then tried to stop him from following the player and the Clinton player cussed him out and was ejected. This is first hand knowledge from one of the referees who happens to be a friend of mine. He also mentioned that this was not the first time the kid had been ejected this season. This looks to hurt Clinton alot because the player is pretty good. It really was a great game until this happened. I wonder why the Clinton players were fouling so hard with 1 second to go and no chance to win. Maybe a question for the coaching staff.

Great post, indiangiver! This pretty much sums it up.... The game was out of reach at the point when this chaos began. IMHO, the AC player should not have been ejected. Why did AC only shoot 2 FT's? Even if the ejections cancelled each other out; #24 was also given a T and there was a personal as well. I know AC won the game and the point is mute, but I just didnt understand the ruling.

  5. AC was able to scratch out a hard fought win against a scrappy Halls team. If AC plans to keep this unbeaten streak going, they will need a much better performance than what I saw last night. The Central game on Tuesday will be a good measuring stick to see what the Mavs are made of.

Veer, I hope you are kidding about a JV coach being D1 in the next 5 years. If not, you are delusional! :thumb:

  6. The dragons will be just fine against the cows this season.... another sweep this year... I hear u take the new transfer smith out, than ac has nothing eles..... clinton will win by 10 or more vs the cows watch....

i expect clinton to do well in the district, but i think that AC might get a little revenge for last year's 2 losses. taking smith out of the game may be tougher than you think; but if you do, the mavs have a few others that are more than capable of picking up the slack. i agree with dragfan, this should be another classic clinton vs. AC battle.

  7. I agree that AC outcoached the Dragons, but more importantly; the AC staff outdressed the CHS staff. Gillum looked classic in his AC letter jacket, and the price twins are just adorable, as always! What is up with Clinton's AD trying to cause a scene at halftime? What a sore loser! I'm just glad someone put him in his place. At least Clinton's field will have plenty of time to recover before the next Dragons home game! :thumb:

  8. Dragonfan, I hope the "Cows" don't "loose". I don't really know what this means, but I have heard you, multiple times, say that the Mavs will "loose". I will be the first to tell you that they are fastened tight and securely attached. I do not play football in college, but at least I go to class and make coherent statements. Good luck to both teams. Go MAVS!

  9. Who was the player last year that almost beat AC by himself? I think he wore #2. Did he end up signing anywhere? :hungry:

If I remember correctly, that would be Zeke Rogers. He is not playing college ball but had a pretty good high school career. It seems like I remember J. Wlison having a monster game vs. CHS last year as well. I hope that JW comes to play and shows fans of both teams what he is capable of doing. The MAVS will be ready this Friday to make a little noise. It will take a nearly perfect effort on both sides of the ball if the MAVS expect to win. Hopefully, they can do that Friday. If not, good luck to CHS for the remainder of the playoffs.

  10. Big mistake by Wells. Your leaving the best returning talent in the district to go to the lowest private basketball school in Knoxville. He should of applied for Grace, or waited a year and rode Tyler Hood to a bigger coaching position. Shane better stay there for a while, he already has a reputation for staying somewhere 2/3 years and leaving his players hanging.

If LC has any common sense they will offer the position to Coach Stewart. He knows his stuff, and will go above and beyond to help his players succeed on the court and in life. Another person they might want to look at is the Asst Coach for Eldridge at Murville. I heard he was interested last time, but was edged out by Wells.

I believe the asst baseball coach is Coach Lee who coaches girls basketball. The head baseball coach if I am not mistaken is his son-in-law. Several sports need an overhaul at LC, but there is too much of the good ole boy syndrome going on to make that happen.

dyron, they might have offered him a package he could not refuse....bball coach, golf coach, and a membership at one of the finest courses in the knox area---dead horse lake!

  11. Carter had an 11 or 12 point lead late, weathered the three point enslaught and won 67-61! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

congrats to carter! at the beginning of the year, i was a firm believer that carter could make it to the boro. however, their lack of chemistry early this season left me wondering if they would make it out of districts. obviously, carter figured something out mid-season to get things going in the right direction. im glad to see that they are playing more as a team and wish them luck at state! from an AC fan!

  12. I think once again the odds are stacked against the Patriots of Union Co. I dont know much about Carter except I know Lester and Meady are very well big men that can easily change the game. I think for Union to win this one their trio guards need to come out firing on all cylinders. Union needs to have the whole county come out and represent to make a factor in this game. Another thing is Unions Soph big men Cox and Buckner need to get physical with Meady and Lester and if they can get them in foul trouble then its a whole new ball game. Union will play tougher than what Carter will expect. Like we have all seen this season is anybody can be beat. Maybe Union can pull this one out.

    Union 75

    Carter 73

i think that union is a very similar team to AC-- gaurd oriented with young posts. AC beat carter by 17 without their best guard, rorex. i think that this will be a close game and it is hard to pick against carter when they just knocked of AE. but, ill take union by 5!

  13. No it's the glass makers. Build it stronger and it wouldn't have happened. Maybe he was trying to kill a bug that was crawling across the window and didn't know his own strength.

this is funny stuff! im just proud of him for making it through a whole game at fulton and not leaving at halftime. this young man is making great strides to change peoples opinions of him!

  14. carter has no chance....AE by 25!

    yes, this was my prediction!

nice win carter! i was wrong about the hornets. but, then again, so was everyone other than splainhornets! when i saw alcoa take them to overtime a week ago, i knew their season was short lived. congrats to carter. it has been a struggle this year, but coach buell has them peaking at the right time. good luck in the region championship vs. the winner of stone and fulton. im not predicting this game because, obviously, i dont know what im talking about!

  15. i think that derek wallace at AC deserves some consideration. he has done a great job since the departure of mark eldridge to maryville. in three years, he has led the mavs to two district titles and almost pulled off a monumental upset against the defending state champs (fulton) in this years region tourney.
