who is the best team in 8AA as of now?

They are not set up for comparision between classes since the large majority of games a team plays are within their own classification, especially in January and February.

definitely would make things these strength of schedule ranking more legitimate to factor in size of school you are playing.

No disrespect, but thats not right. I'm almost positive. I'm not sure of exact times, because some games have been changed by tourney staff, but here it is for tommorrow.

I went all the way back to page 9, december 13th post, and could not find a boys bracket. the meeting for the tourney was dec. 13th so i'm pretty sure the boys bracket has not been posted. the girls bracket is though muffin.

predictions anyone?i know station camp is the 1 seed & jackson county is the 2 seed.

YES, maybe not every time they played. This team could beat any or all of them on a given night.

Everything seems to have cooled down in Temple land. Most the facts have came out. Really the only questions left is what is Sexton gonna do.

Care to elaborate? If you don't I understand. Hadn't heard anything in this neck of the woods? When do Temple and Grace play?

It is going to be really hard for Union City to repeat. It is hard for any team to repeat. Right now they have to be number 1, but I kinda doubt they repeat. Teams like Lake Co., Temple, and Humboldt (yes i know union city blasted them) are going to be tough to get by. Here is my shot at a top ten.

 

1. Union City- clear cut number one

2. Lake Co.- good chance at the gold ball

3. Temple- having some off the court issues but this team is good.

4. Humboldt- Got blasted by Union City but it is early.

5. Grace- Young and still probably a year away but very good. McMasters is the real deal.

6. Middleton- Always pretty solid could run into trouble making it to the boro.

7. Adamsville- new team on the map time will be the judge.

8. Eaglesville

9. Jackson Co.

10 Pickett Co.

whats the off the floor issues for temple? oh by the way i agree with your top 10. i know west tn. basketball is good but i don't think the entire top 10 in single A is in west tn.

Just watching on TV, I was wondering what Hamilton's coach was

saying at the end. He didn't look too happy.

i thought that his actions at the end of the 1st overtime were very classless. his boy fouled the shooter before the clock expired, enough said! i agree the boy wasn't even close to the sideline. by the way, that was a different ref that called the out of bounds than the foul to end the 1st overtime.

Jackson Co. (30-7) vs Hampton (20-13)

 

Jackson County has to be the early favorite in this game, but there are no bad teams left. Hampton finished 3rd in the district tourney and then came back to win the Region. Jackson Co. sliped a little toward the end of the season with some tough teams, but have won 7 in a row including the district and region titles. Can Hampton stop Jackson County's inside game? Can Hampton shoot well enough to outscore Jackson County or will they have to slow the game down and minimise the shots to win?

 

Anyone from Hampton have anyting to say about their team?

I think temple will win this game by double digits i would say around 15 points.

This game seems to me like it will be kinda one sided Grace is just to tough for pickett to handle Grace will win it easily by 18 points. I feel that Grace has a very good chance at winning the state this year.

not to worry pickett this person isn't exactly a great prognasticator. i remember last week he missed every game in the region 4a tourney. now i do really like your chances.

Wilson Cates is very ill and will not be playing in the game today. What are the odds of that. He got sick last year as well. Oh well. LA will need a HUGE game from their freshman Chase Dunn. If Cates doesn't play, I still don't want to hear ANY excuses on how this game turns out from the LA fans..

Looks like Jackson County is doing a belly flop right here before tourney time. What is that 4 losses in a row? They'll never make it past the substate.

j.c. has not lost 4 in a row. 1 in a row. they beat smith co. in their last game before livingston. other losses are to two fine AA schools and clarkrange. isn't like their getting beat by everyone.

you should contact jackson co. high school. they put on a thanksgiving classic there good competition, nice gym, and good people.

lets hold all the _______of the year awards until the season is over. regular season is all for show. the post season is what matters. it really doesn't matter what happens in the regular season, so hold your thoughts and see who excels in the post season. i remember a few seasons ago when j.c. won the state tourney with 10 or 11 losses, no one would have given the coach of the year to coach brown until AFTER the tourneys are over. some schools just play lots tougher schedules than others! usually this tougher schedule pays off come tourney time. i'll let you know in march.
