  1. Heres what ya do. Pitch around shaffer, robinson, and schloss, then kosinski will hit one over the road. Pick your poison.

What I saw ,,, I mean no offense;.. Siegel can't hit cruve balls or sliders Ryan didn't pitch around any of those guys and they were hitless thur 5 innings. take away ryan errors that game wasn't close

  2. Expectations are high again this year, as Farragut is ranked #3 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. You can go to http://www.collegiatebaseball.com/polls/hs/currentpollhs.htm to look at the rest of the teams. Farragut should be very strong again. Here are the players who will contribute this year:

Curt Powell- Vanderbilt commit and all-state selection. Heart of the team, best SS in the state.

Cade Stallings- Louisville commit. Hits balls further than you can believe, look for him to have a breakout year, i think he ends up with 15-20 HRs and 60-70 RBIs.

Mac Thoreson- Hardest working kid you'll ever meet. Should earn a scholly to Georgia Tech by end of the year. Great all around player who hits for power and is around 87-89 off the mound.

Jordan Cooper- Ole Miss signee. Lefty who is filthy on the mound, runs his FB up around 89-92 with a nasty slider and changeup. I look for him to have his best year yet.

Nicky Delmonico- Sophomore who was on the USA national team. Will be one of the best Farragut has ever had by his senior year. Hits for power, average, and is one of the best bunters i've seen.

Phillip Pfiefer- Sophomore who was also on the USA national team. One of the top 5 pitchers in the state as a freshman, look for him to tear it up this year. I would be surprised if he lost a game. Best pitcher in the state.

Blake Hayes- solid player who will play CF this year. Has tremendous speed and his bat really came around the 2nd half of the year last year. Went 3-3 in the state championship game.

Steven Weaver- Will either play LF or RF for the Admirals this year. He has worked really hard to get better during his career and should get a chance to see significant playing time this year. He has great speed and should have a solid bat in the lineup.

Ethan Bennett- Great player who was behind Kentucky signee Michael Williams his first 2 years. He has tremendous power, probably the strongest on the team. Will play catcher this year for Farragut. Expect big things from Ethan this year after he adjusts to varsity pitching.

Ellison Fitchpatrick- I look for Ellison to be moved to the outfield this year, probably to left. He had been playing third base behind Cade, but I see him playing outfield this year with vacancies on the corners. He is a great player who should thrive once he gets some playing time under his belt. Very strong guy, and swings a great bat.

Nick Williams- Michael Williams' brother. He is a very strong kid, throws around 88-90 consistently. Should be a major contributer in the rotation this year.

Others who will have an increased roll:

    Ryan Littman- P

    Trip Keaton- UTIL

    David Allen- P/OF

    Marshall Leavell- P/1B

    Grant Tabor- OF

    Sam Thomas- P

    Chris Griffin- C

    Logan Hess- P

    Tyler Noland- OF/P

I may be forgetting a few underclassman, but that should be the Farragut Admirals this year. Should be the top team in the state once again. Look for them to really start clicking come tournament time once the more inexperienced players have gotten some playing time under their belt.

    2009 Prediction: 45-1

    GO ADMIRALS!!!

That one loss in the finals of the state championship?

  3. WHAT TEAM WILL HAVE THE MOST HOME RUNS THIS YEAR?

depends on where you play alot of these schools have very short fences, fastball and a juiced up aluminum bats = homeruns wouldn't get too excited over a kid hitting homeruns these days

  4. GOOD FOR YOU ALL. SOMETIMES WE CAN GET MYOPIC WHEN IT COMES TO BASKETBALL. IT'S PRETTY MUCH A GIVEN THAT THE PEOPLE NOT SITTING WELL WITH YOUR DECISION ARE INDY FANS. CAN YOU BLAME THEM? DAVID AND TRE ARE GREAT KIDS AND I KNOW THAT EVERYONE WISHES YOU AND YOUR FAMILY THE BEST.

    YOU DID GOOD.

Good for David. lets face if you have a chance to go to MBA or any of the Private schools over the public school schools its a no brainer. IHS i'm sure is a nice school it isn't MBA though. Good luck David

  5. I was there the whole time, yes. And I do competely agree that it was just a scrimmage, free subs, etc. However, it isn't hard to evaluate overall talent. As you see, I did not say that FR isn't any good. I just said they were not one of the top teams in the midstate -- which is in reply to the post saying they were.

By the way, Overton didn't even have all of there top players; most of the ones that played the last 5 innings won't even be on the team.

Ryan is without a doubt rebuilding they lost 9 seniors and missed the state by 1 game last year, DII is stacked every year from BA BGA MBA ENSWORTH CBS MCALLIE BAYLOR MUS BRIARCREST JPll will surprise a lot of people this year. and I think you would agree Overton will be in 5 or 6 spot in their division as well too much talent ahead of them im Williamson Co. good luck

  6. Overton had no struggles against Father Ryan yesterday even with 2 of the their top players out.

Sorry, guys, but I just don't see it.

And...fightin23...I was looking for a #23 on FR but didn't see one.

practice uniforms brooks why u didnt see a 23 , did u see those 8 unpires and or were you still there 7 hours later ,,,it was a scrimmage game people ,,,this is too funny

  7. Im gonna have to agree with brooks. I heard yall got stomped by overton

That was a scrimmage game that lasted 6 hours and overton had there startes playing against ryan 4 hours later against freshmen

  9. Wow... Ice hockey is considered America's new pastime... throw out baseball, all the kids are at the hockey rink now! Parents love hockey because their kid is safely monitored in a controlled environment and has a low injury rate in comparison to other youth sports. Look at the statistics... baseball numbers have dropped dramatically in the past 20 years, soccer has taken over the masses, hockey appeals to the more dedicated and affluent athletes, because it takes a huge financial and time commitment to learn how to skate and play. NHL teams have swarmed over the South.. Nashville has the Preds, Thrashers are in Atlanta, Canes in Raleigh, Lightning in Tampa, Stars in Dallas, Panthers in Miami are all a reflection of the newfound fanbase in the South, that doesn't count all the minor league hockey teams in Knoxville, Memphis, Huntsville, Gwinnett in Atlanta and lots of other cities... Kids eat hockey up because it's fast paced, super fun and challenging game while juggling a combination of skills. In hockey, you have to read the play, skate, handle the puck, dodge your opponent, react, protect yourself and try to score all at the same time. Imagine playing football on skates with no huddles, or full-contact basketball on ice skates. Kids put on all that armor and feel invincible on the ice, changes their personalities.. my 8 yr old son was a quiet introvert until he suited up in hockey gear from head to toe.. he became the hulk in his new outfit on the ice and he loved to wack the puck and other kids and not get into trouble.

Roller hockey is typically the starter sport for kids to learn how to play hockey, almost every city kid has inline skates and learns to skate in his driveway or on the sidewalk, they eventually pick up a hockey stick and start hitting tennis balls into a net, playing pick-up hockey in their neighborhood cul-de-sac... from there they graduate to ice hockey so they can play on an organized team.

Greater Nashville Association of Scholastic Hockey (GNASH) was created and organized with the idea that it would eventually be approved and accepted as a TSSAA sanctioned sport. All of the by-laws and operating procedures follow TSSAA protocol in the hopes it will someday be approved as a mainstream sport in Tennessee. The majority of the high schools in the Nashville area have teams. There are currently 24 high schools that participate in GNASH, although some schools are forced to double-up and co-op to have enough quality players to make a team. There are currently 18 high school "club" teams in Middle Tennessee, 4 teams in Memphis and 4 teams in Knoxville. The Nashville Predators sponsor the Predator Cup in March to determine the Tennessee State High School Champion. The website for GNASH is www.gnashockey.com

The top high school ice hockey programs in Nashville are Father Ryan, JP II, Ravenwood, Brentwood, Centennial, Montgomery Bell Academy, Station Camp, Hendersonville and Mt Juliet. The league is broken down into a top half and lower half. All of the teams listed above are in the top half. The top team out of Memphis is Collierville, top team out of Knoxville is Bearden.

High School ice hockey is much larger in Atlanta area. Also, Huntsville and Birmingham Alabama have high school ice hockey programs as well.

The majority of the high school ice hockey coaches are former college, junior or minor league players.. all have to pass a background screen process and be registered and insured by USA Hockey.

If you ever get a chance, come out to a high school ice hockey game up in Nashville, Atlanta or Knoxville and you will catch the fever too.. it's awesome! I would love to see Chattanooga get an ice rink and give the kids down there a chance to play ice hockey! They would LOVE it!

Wow... Ice hockey is considered America's new pastime... throw out baseball, all the kids are at the hockey rink now! Thata the funniest thing I've read on here,,,I like hockey but what are you smoking...Look what schools have hockey and then tell me it's America's pastime..don't see many "metro schools on there
