Very well said Bulldog2000! You would think that if these coaches were really Big Blue fans and care about these kids that they would realize its time to give it up. Glad that someone else realizes this!

It all goes back to what I had said earlier. Coaching. These kids are winners from their past and have great potential. Good coaching will help develop these kids and let them be successful. I understand that Hampton will be returning all but 2 seniors next year but if you want the same ole results then keep the same ole coaching methods. It has been obvious with mostly the same kids the last 3 years there hasnt been any "great" results. Don't misunderstand, Coach White is a hall of famer and HAS BEEN a great coach in the past. He still knows basketball but his ideas are long gone. He has built a legacy at Hampton and even has his "own song"! But if he keeps up this so so sub par performances then his legacy will obviously be tarnished! It's time for some new blood and new ideas. Hopefully some soul searching will be done by ALL.

Well Durden as usual, you don't have a clue about basketball. It takes an inside game to have an outside game! Oh but I forgot, you don't have an inside game, thus guess what you don't have an outside game either!! (ASK NED SMITH) Hey lets take it down the court and see who can make a 3....or better yet throw it away. Oh btw, your star guards need a little work on defense right? But don't believe me just look at the paper tomorrow and see who isn't going to State Tourney. All that talent and they won't play as a team, what a shame! You know, if I was a post player on that team I would want something to change, they post up time and time again and the "guards" won't throw it in. I know of at least 20 times #50 #14 #33 & the big kid #44 would work hard inside to pin their guy and never see the ball...but wait, let me dribble dribble dribble and see if I can get "my" shot then if I happen to miss one of you post men get it and throw it back to us!!! But hey, it ALL starts on the bench! So Mr. Durden have you made your reservations for "next Year" yet???? Gonna be a long off season, maybe you can watch some basketball on tv!!! Be sure to get you an extra bag of chips, your falling away to nothing.

Oh yeah Hampton did HIT 6 3's in the game but you better look closer to the line scores. They shot several more than 8 from the arc! How many turnovers did their "ball handlers" have?? Nobody said they were ballhogs they just like to shoot more than the rest. Hampton doesnt appear to need any post players because they only see the ball when it careens off the rim. I'm sorry you didnt get to play any ball but the first thing you learn in youth league ball is that there is no "I" in team! I do wish them the best and hope they would be able to bring back the "trophy" to District 1. Better hope they dont meet Ned and his Landers down there though!

Unfortunately ur right! Its a shame with all the talent Hampton has that this is the way it is...but remember I told you so!! Yeah they have some key injuries and yeah they dont play team ball and yeah they dont have an inside game although they have a very big couple or actually 3 guys that can play but when you NEVER get the ball inside then there goes your inside game! They are too worried about hurry and shoot the almighty 3 pointer! Looks good in the papers and really gets that point average up there! These guys should have only lost probably 3 games this year. The problem is NOT THE PLAYERS they are some great talent out there but the problem is (of course in my opinion and listen up get up close and really listen) THEY ARE CONTINOUSLY GETTING OUT COACHED!! Ned Smith must feel like Christmas is everyday that he gets to coach against Hampton! Ned is up coaching and directing his team. Hampton coaches are laid back and folding their arms and slapping the bench and continously telling their players what they did wrong. WAKE UP BULLDOG COUNTRY! IT'S TIME FOR SOME "CHANGES"!! Unless youre happy with your mediocre results. Basketball has changed in the last 30 years so have the kids work ethics, coaches need to change with them! I have not intended to hurt anyones feelings nor slander anyone, just an outsider looking in. If you ever want to be a force in this region you gotta change something...START ON THE BENCH...Good luck!

It won't be Ned. Carp maybe. NO, things will be handled their way. IF and a BIG IF there is a change, it won't be anounced until the tournaments are over. Hill and Jr. High mom(DrEnuf) will know befor school is out. Cloudland and Elizabethton will just have to wait.

Don't believe there is a coaching change in the works, at least haven't heard. White is in a lot of pain with his back though. Don't really see how he can stand much more. You really need to get in there and show the younger boys different moves and how to post up, but don't really see how he is able.

Look, this isn't the first time the family has done this. They took the sister all over the county and city. I guess that "Staff" problems were the reason then too. Just can't please some people. Don't try to justify this childish move with complaints about the staff. Everyone knows the real reason.

According to numerous fans, teachers, families of the ball players, and some personal observance, very weak coaching. The "family" isn't on the bench or haven't seen them there, but haven't seen all the games either. Maybe you're watching another game from the ones that I have seen.

Know for a FACT that the coaches and players talked to Dylan and asked him if he would like to come back and play and he said NO. Can't do anymore than that so the staff and players have gone above and beyond. Can't say that I would have done the same. Also, what team wouldn't want a player with a family that wasn't interested in Team Ball and only their player. I personally would not want to be on that team or be that coach. A no win situation. But that is where we are and can't go back. Where would he play in Cloudland's press of man to man defense or where would he play in Eliz.'s full court man to man defense ? You tell me.

First of all you are wrong about your statements! His "family" supports him, the team and the school! I heard from one of the players that they talked to him and said he hasn't made up his mind yet. But what has changed? Still the same coaches that don't have a clue whats going on in the game and still cussing the players. The so called "staff" is the problem. Their actions are the reason that everything has fallen apart! The days of cussing kids and name calling should be over. There's better ways to motivate a player instead of possible "CHILD ABUSE". And I would go on to say that he probably would be welcomed at most of the schools in question. A 6-6 sophomore still has room to grow and mature!!

When he's a senior, Cloudland may be able to at least compete with Hampton. But I can't see Elizabethton staying within 20 points of the Dawgs. The Cyclones underclassmen cupboard is bare...

By the time he is a senior?? What rock did you crawl from under? Cloudland beat the Bulldogs with the whole team in tact, so what makes you think they won't beat them without their big man?? And the Cyclones beat the crap out of the 'Dogs this year both times. But you all "bleacher" coaches know it all. Funny thing is that most of you never have played any ball now have we "BARRY E."

First things first you take #5 and #13 off of that team Hampton dont win a ball game plain and simple.

 

I have watched Hampton play a numerous amount of times this year and to be honest to be the size Hill is he plays like he is 5'10 instead of playing like he is 6'6. The coaching is not the problem. I am not a fan nor parent of a player @ Hampton but they have a good staff behind the kids trust me if White didn't think he could still do it he would hang it up...

 

But in all fairness to the coaches give them credit for taking a group of young kids and winning the WVC. Deep down not only are they good guys but they are good teachers of the game anyway you come across this argument.

 

Bottom line is if you dont like the way things are going A.Move to another school B.Quit C.Keep working hard and do your job when you come in the game and prove a point.

You, just like Jerry White, don't have a clue what is going on! I sure wouldn't want to go up against the big man in the middle. He would probably slap your head in to your a** oh but in your case it's already there.

All last night showed was that Hill thinks only of himself and not the team. He has not been mistreated by the coaches, in retrospect the coaches have been mistreated by you so called fans all season and all they have done is take a team of mostly sophomores and win the conference. This is probably the best thing that could happen for the TEAM and I pity whatever school he goes to next.

Oh come on coach!! You shouldn't talk about your players that way but I forgot you're just a sorry piece of S*** that you've shown all year!! Theres not a school or coach that wouldn't be proud th have a 6-5 or 6-6 big man in the middle. The only problem is that you have to be able to coach them, something I hear you guys know nothing about!!

I've been on Hill's bandwagon since the beginning of the year when everyone on here was bashing him. But I think it was obvious what the coaches were doing last night. Cloudland ran that 5 guard lineup and it created huge mismatches. When the Dawgs were in the 1-3-1 in the first half, Cloudland hit 8 3's. If Hampton would have stayed in the 1-3-1, they would have gotten beat by 30. It forced White to go to the man defense. And Logan and Hill simply can't guard any of the guards that the Landers had on the floor. It's nothing against Andrews or Hill, it's just the truth. Hill has played a ton of minutes all year especially for a sophmore. There are some games where he NEVER came out. If he does this on a team that could be one of the best ever at the school just because he sat for 2 quarters, he will regret it the rest of his life. He will always wonder "what if" and know deep down that this team could have been something special...

This team or any team for that matter isn't going to be special with poor old JERRY WHITE as coach! The game has passed him up so long ago. For a coach to believe that a 1-3-1 defense is the way to go should tell you Bulldog fans something. I will have to say that the Bulldog has to have a lot of talent to have won 17 games this year despite the poor coaching they have gotten. They don't even have a post game but why should a post want to go to Hampton, it is only a 2 guard offensive show! I'v heard that numerous players on the team want to just quit and get away from the verbal abuse from White and Matheson. Maybe Hampton should just keep "predictable White and company" they are going to be easier to beat down the road.
