  1. well it depends if MBA can run the ball- how does indy give up 24 pts in 8.46 in 4th qtr without a BHS team running the ball?

When will INDY hold a team under 150 yds rushing -

    Siegal 239

    oakland 249

BHS-351 (yes 351 yds ) for as gaudy 12.1 yds average - take away that 94 yard spring and we are still looking at them giving up 8.1 yds per rush

tell me why cant they tackle? we all knew Oakland, and BHS cant put the ball in the air-

mad heck yeah i am mad at INDY- do they have a good team yes, do i think they make the playoffs? yes, i do think they can slip in - i see them running the league table with only a hicup when lee and ford run for 400 yds against them...but i repeat they need to man up and stop the run- coach B has the right schemes in place its just poor execution

" coach B has the right schemes in place .... " Coach B ? Who on the IHS staff are you refering to ?

  2. MEMO TO ALL THE INDY KOOL - AID DRINKER 'S : The D & O Line play against both BGA & DICKSON CO. was horrible. These poor kids are just a bunch of stand up guys with no concept of the reality that lower pads and inside hands win. Heckman or no Heckman Segal will boat race IHS. This will be the beginning of a four game debacle ( Segal, Oakland, MBA, and Brentwood ).

  3. No doesn't seem that way at all. It is exactly what I said it would be 2-3 weeks ago and everyone thought I was wrong. It is a principle bringing in his "boys" "buddies" what ever you want to call it no matter what the head coach says. Dyson has already been proven he can't coach just ask centennial and franklin. Hammond not sure of but what other high school has a "safety coach" and a different "db's coach" then 2 WR coaches. That is absolutely nuts. Maybe the great Campbell should be worrying about problems in our school and let Eubanks do his job. If he wanted to coach then he should be making $90,000 to be a principle. All of you are being fooled by his swooying that you can't see him for what he really is.

I really feel for Eubanks having to deal with his administrator putting in his little spies to coach. Imagine having to run a program, deal with some of the nut job parents at Indy, teach, and have to worry about what stories Campbell's buddies are carrying back to him. No win situation. My optimism jus went out the window.

Consider that Darryl Hammonds in terms of a football pedigree was coached by George Welch at UVA and was a Grad. Assistant at Penn. St. That being said Eubank's makes Hammonds " Safety Coach " Meanwhile Gates and Alexander are assigned to coach the O & D Lines which both performed poorly under their coaching last year. By the way what are the pedigree's of Alexander and Gates other than being Eubank's "boys" ?

  4. Yes new offensive sceam, but all i can say about it is i hope we find a rb thats durable. And i dont know if this is true but i think Eubanks is both HC and DC this year, since he was dc when scott smith was HC.

Good News ! ! You can @@@@ up a win for IHS against Hillsboro this year. EUBANK'S will out coach Dennis Moreno the newly named Hillsboro HC. Consider that almost every time Moreno's Hunters Lane Defense has gone up against a Willamson County team they have been decisively beaten. Moreno"s poor performances against Wiiiamson County teams will continue despite a change of address.

  5. Not drinking anyones Kool Aid INDYFBMAN, and what did that even mean?

If you want my evaluation, i totally agree with FranklyMyDear. 2-2 or 3-1

Siegal has average talent, Oakland lost pretty much their whole offense with losing the two senior running backs, Brentwood is iffy i dont know how they will replace the starters from last years two loss season and be just as strong. Upside for them its at their turf, and as all eagle fans know we've never won at their house. And of course MBA duh... Loss we've never beat them, or a private team period.

INDEPENDENCE SPRING ASSESSMENT - Excellent QB, smart, durable, good decision maker, and leads by example.Overall team speed average not as fast as Hillsboro, Oakland or Franklin. Potential to be boat raced by both Hillsboro and Oakland in much the same way as Franklin did it to IHS last year. O & D Lines average at best could be knocked off the line of scrimmage by MBA, Brentwood, and Oakland do to the lack of overall strength as documented by the year to date strength training results. COACHING ? ? New D - Coordinator ? ? Offensive scheme ? ?

  6. Yea now that i look back on this topic, and it did get ridculous. So lets talk about 2009, not 2008, or 2007.

Now refuring back to the post earlier about the prediction about Indys upcoming season, a loss to siegel? Who do they have other than that wide reciever March Gooch? They were 5-6 last year and 6-4 the year before. And Levernge, give them a win there? Are we really going to be that bad? Come on.

I know Brentwood really hasnt had a bad season since like '05 but think about it, Brentwood is going to be in a rebuilding year (correct me if im wrong) with losing a lot of seniors, and could be very venurable to anyone this season.

Mack, stop drinking the Eubank's Kool Aid for just a few moments and realistically offer your evaluation of how IHS matches up with their first four opponents : SIEGAL, OAKLAND, BRENTWOOD and MBA .

  7. It is time to move on and look to this up coming season. Having said that where does IHS FOOTBALL stand as spring practice starts ? The results of the strength training to date are at best average ? Does anyone know if Eubanks has named a D - COORDINATOR ? It will be interesting to see if Eubanks makes any significant changes in his offensive scheme this spring. I sure hope that Red Roberts is back coaching as Eubanks certainly needs input from a coach with Red's background and experience.

  8. Wow, way to put words in my mouth, go back and read that statement and see if i ever put 'the qualifications for a strength & conditioning coach are...' I just said that its good that they hired a new strengthing coach, and he just happened to be really ripped and the student pastor. And its only been how many weeks since they have started strength training? A couple right? you expect an 16-18 year old to go from lifting 250 straight to 300, or squating 350 in a couple of weeks? Its not like they are on steriods, you guys are looking for results and improvements that will probably wont happen untill May or June in the month of April?

By the way, how about you guys read my qoute down below for once.

It is quite obvious that you have no concept of what a knowledgeable coach is looking for in terms of O & D Line strength. It is April and in terms of raising Juniors and Seniors all your interior starters should squat at least 400 lbs. and at the very least 50 % of them should bench 300 lbs. Unless your planning on being 4 & 6 again ! ! !

  9. [quote name='mackbrown' date='Apr 5 2009 - 09:28 PM' post='82707

But on a positive note the Eagles new strengthing coach is also the student pastor at a local chruch, hes a real great guy and really strong. So you know Dr. C isnt hiring all ignorant bumbs or former Franklin coaches he knows.

Your posting are always amusing to read. For example, the qualifications for a strength & conditioning coach are premised on being a "student pastor.... real great guy and really strong. " What about being n.s.c.a. or u.s.a.w. certified ?

Most importantly what about the results which are posted inside the wieght room on the white board for any inquiring mind to read. Alex Heckman needs to be recognized for the positive results of his work ethic. But the O-Line, D-Line, and LB"S that are to date without a 300 lbs. bench presser. And one starting OT/DT Lineman does not squat max. 350 lbs. Without significant improvement IHS will be for difficult evenings against Oakland, MBA, Hillsboro, and Brentwood.

  10. Successful coach? Periodization? Perhaps you have something here. Just look at last years results. Every team knew what to do to beat Indy. Despite an enormous wealth of talent to work with the offense was one dimensional, transparent, and easily defended. And it never changed. And you think they have more talent this year? We shall see. Unless I'm very wrong here and things do actually change, it's going to be a long season I'm afraid. I truly hope I'm wrong on this.

To reply as Webster aptly states is " to respond. " You did not respond to my post. You simply pontificate your dogmatism. Case in point, you stated " you ( INDYFBMAN ) think they ( IHS ) have more talent this year." Question : where did I either state or imply that IHS has more talent this year ? Should you decide to reply be specific quote me ! Stay on task don't ramble !

  11. What a sound bite! You should write for coaches/politicians. A reply to that might look like this-----The strongest and fastest team around can still be beaten by a poor game plan and mismanagement of talent. The "journey' continues as does the battle of the sound bites now, I suppose.

Your construct lacks logic. Your assertion that " the strongest and fastest team around can still be beaten by a poor game plan and mismanagement of talent " states a true not at issue in my brief note. To expand upon my original concept please know that the successful coach plans the year in terms of Periodization ( general prep, sport specific prep, precompetitive, competitive ) recognizing that each step builds in logical sequence toward the ultimate goal of winning. Accordingly the question at issue at this writing should be is a solid foundation of strength and conditioning being established ? Check out the results for each IHS football player as they are posted on the wieght room wall and make your own decision.

  12. Lifting and strength training aside, I'd much more prefer a strong game plan and coaching staff that works and achieves wins. Just a thought. Strength is a good thing, using it wisely: priceless!

The success or failure of the IHS football team will to a significant extent be determined by the results of pre - season prep. This journey begins with strength & speed training.

  13. Oh yea, of course. I dont know what he can bench or anything but i garuntee he is one of the top benchers. He didnt start working out right away with the team because he was still playing basketball but he only missed a short time, no biggy. Other big guys that most people might not know are, Jerome Powell soph., and Ben Laskey jun. both played a lot this past year with Dalton and Drew.

I assume from your posts that you are an IHS student. If so just drop by the wieght room and check out the posted maxs for each Indy player. The recorded facts document the teams progress to date.

  14. I thought this thread is entitled "Indy: How does 2009 look ." So let"s talk Indy FB ! It is now late Feb. and Indy Nation has only recieved one brief note from the KING OF E-MAIL ( COACH EUBANKS. ) NO D - COORINATOR ! NO ASSISTANTS TO REPLACE THOSE RUN-OFF ! OFF SEASON PM WORKOUTS OUTSOURCED ! ! NO FACUTLY COACHES TO OPEN THE SCHOOL AND OVERSEE EARLY AM WORKOUTS ! ! ! It will soon be time for Spring Practice. WHERE IS THIS RUDDERLESS FOOTBALL PROGRAM HEADED ! ! !
