I really don't know if Nolan has enough energy to do a search. He always hired within at Oakland.
-
I can just see it now. Shad calls the boys up for a pre-game pep talk, and he tells them the story of "I BELIEVE". Could this be another one of Aydelott's follies???? Just Asking....Go Warriors!!
-
Please don't tell me it is because of coaching that the two "stars" received scholarships. That my friend is a joke. I would also like to point out that the great Randy King played a soft schedule, yet had no problem beating the team that spanked siegel.
-
You know Riverdale maybe in for trouble. I am sure ole Shad will make sure Blackman knows the story about "I Believe". What a joke. Go Warriors, show this clown that it is time for his exit from the "show."

Oakland has no idea what is coming for them. Roger Perry is head and shoulders above ANY coach in Rutherford Co. and it will be obvious come Friday night. It is different when a fantastic coach has minimal talent, but Perry has just as much talent as Oakland. Murfreesboro schools make me sick because they are so overconfident. Who wouldn't be good if you had a million kids to choose from.

Well partner, unless Perry is going to be playing in this game I don't see how they have an advantage. He will not be coaching against McGavock, Portland, and Hendersonville.
-
He will fit in well at UT.
-
Now I wasn't there, but from what I heard you guys never ever threatened to score on Oakland. So tell me how you almost beat them.
-
I don't see Oakland scoring 28 points. Their offense is very challenged. I think it will be a very close game, and the team that doesn't have turnovers wins.

Boroballer,
Are you aware that Burks was Turnham's assistant at Riverdale before he was fired? These two funeral home directors are two birds of a feather.
-
No offense....no pun intended, but when was the last time Oakland has blown out anyone? They have a great defense, but a very below average offense.
-
If Riverdale got a transfer, it want be long before Burks runs him off. This guy is the most ineffective coach in the district.
-
I make a bet that Burks wins another elementary championship before Hammonds signs SEC.
-
To quote the late great boxing referee Mills Lane, "Let's Get It On".
-
Speaking of terrible coaches, Siegel has a terrible coach. They should have been in the State tournament last year and did not even get out of the Region. They win in spite of their coaching.
As long as Burks and Turnham are still coaching in this District, nobody else can be called the only lousy coach. These two funeral home directors are the epitome of ineptiness.
-
They don't win the games that count. Kevin Thomas coached circles around Dotson in the Region Semifinals. Not to mention the fact that Hammonds choked at the line at the end of the game and Andrews was clutch. Siegel's lack of character and lack of coaching will show up when it counts. Mark it down.
I am definitely not taking up for Siegel's coach, but didn't this Thomas guy get his arse beaten the next night by Randy King?

I have a concern and several questions
can anyone explain why oakland's running backs are so undisciplined? all they want to do is "tip toe" instead of hitting the hole
i heard from a good source that during practice while other positions are working on their skills, the runnings backs were asked to weed eat the practice field.
can anyone add to this?
When we played them it was obvious that this position (running backs) is the poorest coached position on the Oakland team. I was kind of surprise that coach McDaniel allowed it to go on. We busted their bubble and busted them in the mouth. Good luck Blaze.

You have to ask yourself, how long is Nolan going to put up with Burks? He has been Siegal's best recruiter the last few years. I say let's send him back to Westside Grammar so he can win a elementary championship.
-
I sure hope they give it to coach Wine. That would mean business as usual. Go Warriors!
-
HiCotton you are one "sick" little puppy. Why don't you leave these kids alone? You need to stop your harrassment. Haven't you put your own child through enough? This is just a game......in fact it is just high school basketball. Quit trying to live your life through your child!

Anyone who says that Rankin left when the cupboard was bare, apparently are not aware of the record that the team had in 2006 and 2007. What did they lose those two seasons....around 4 games combined? How many games did Oakland win the first two years after "Marty's Army" left? Give credit where credit is due 2P. Rankin owned Oakland. Sour grapes makes one bitter! Oh by the way if it makes you feel better, I do believe you have a very solid coaching staff. Riverdale was just more ready the other night. Very close game. Go Warriors!

Warriors looked very good on Friday. Cody appears to be the real deal. Good luck against Hendersonville.
-
To the person who is getting on McDaniel for his so called "antics" on the sideline. Perhaps you did not see Bowers on the field throughout the game. Heck that dude should have suited up. McDaniel is an up and coming coach. He has a passion for the game. McDaniel can not pick and choose the players he gets, he works with what he gets. Ensworth does a fine job of recruiting Murfreesboro. The only criticism that I have for McDaniel is that he shouldn't have played Ensworth in the first place. They have a huge advantage in "recruiting". Let Biff and Buffy take their marbles and play someone that is in their tax bracket.

Gerald Griffin and Antoine Peebles were also huge factors in the 1st gold ring.
That would be Antron Peebles.
I agree wingman. I think it should be Harrison , Bryant, and Rankin. Anyone who goes pro as they both did, deserve automatic Hall of Fame.
Ditto.

David Coppeans was a big lineman on that 94 team that went to play at vandy...I also think that at least 1 or 2 of the lineman from the 07 team will get in.
As far as the first 3 i am not so sure that they wont go old school I would love for someone who saw Ricky ROper play on here...when i played at RIVERDALE his number was the only number retired (5)
Ricky Roper was the real deal. It is funny how we tend to forget our past.

Hey I got an idea. If there is as a tie let's have the principals decide the winner by wrestling. My money is on Mr. Nolan!!! He is a former agent for Jimmy Super Fly Snooka.
