  1. Do OR supporters not find it odd that yellowball has a lot of posts in the softball forum about a pitcher from coalfield, and NuWildcat has posts here about his son playing football. Those two might have something in common?

Good Lord TTU why don't you go ahead and kick me in the N_ts with that comment. Me and Nucat the same person. Ha he is a good guy though.
  2. Wrong. They changed offense from spread to option and went with better runner.Just glad NU dont think crazy like everybody else

So essentially they told a 13 game starter from last year that he's no longer good enough to lead this team. That's flipping crazy. I've watched this kid play and he's definitely the one who needs to be leading this team again this season.
  3. I'll bite because something sure does stink!!

I'm going to hedge a bet that Dunbars father played for Gaddis, and has been pushing for his boy to be QB since last season, and now a 12-1 QB watched an entire game from the sidelines when he's worked his butt off to get better all summer.

    THERE......I feel better!!!!

Get it off your chest, preach on
  4. So yellowball are you saying something is going on here ? You know something we don't ? If so please share it with us and let us all in on your knowledge

    RWR !!!!

I'm not saying that I know anything but it sure stinks like something is going on. How do you take a starting QB that leads you to a 12-1 season with only two turnovers all year and sit him in the bench ? Pew
  5. Not all is as appears and most of what you are reading above is incorrect. No a player did not go on the field after a heated exchange but yes a player threw a punch at an umpire after the game was over which is very unfortunate. Following the game the umps started to exit the field through the Coalfield dug out and there continued to be discussions over a bad call at home plate. There were several spectators that were voicing their opinions about the quality of umpiring during the game that was called and one of the umps hung around at the gate and very clearly told a parent to shut the **** up which just happened to be the mother of the player that threw the punch. The ump who was also a law enforcement agent also confronted another spectator (brother of player)and began to throw his weight around and tell brother he could take him to jail anywhere, anytime, for anything which provoked said player to defend his parent and sibling.

All of this could have been avoided if the umpire crew had just exited the field as usual and gone on their way but it seemed as if they were hanging around to provoke something. No it's not excusable one bit for any player to go after an umpire and he will pay the consequences but as an umpire and an adult you should not let the power get to your head either. During this entire episode the head coach is trying to get the ump to leave and even stands between the ump and angry crowd.

There are several videos around so look them up for yourself and come to your own conclusion

  6. Then I guess the coaches think we have smart QB. I have no idea about the intelligence of the guys competing for that position.

With two very intelligent guys on and off field like Fadnek and Warrington competing for the top QB position you'll definitely have a smart individual running the offense

  7. With the excpetion of Jajuan Stinson and that WR they had their speed didn't impress me either. And we contained Stinson all night for the most part. Not sure where cats is coming from with this great speed Central had lol. And I agree with you about most things you said, but no way some of those guys you mentioned as WR are as tall as you said. I have walked by Ted Mitchell recently and I am 5'10'' no way he is 6'1'' because i'm not sure if he was any taller then me on bit and Jemiah Hall no way he is 6 feet 1 tall. Other then that I agree.

Either way, Oak Ridge will more than likely have one of the best receiving cores around this year and I really think the running backs will surprise a lot of folks in 2014. Like I said earlier this offense will be explosive...Lots of points on the board !!!

  8. I'll comment on your post point by point. First I agree with you about our receivers except the 6'1" or better part. I didn't think we were that tall but I think we will have the top receivers in the district as a group. And our runners are bound to be better especially if our line is better. I would be happy to have ONE with over 1000 yards. I didn't know our kicker (was he a sophomore or a junior?) was our back up punter but if that's true then I hope he punts as good as he kicks. I agree about the offensive line in that it will be revamped and I really think it will be better. The QB position is up in the air as far as I'm concerned. The winner of that competition will have a huge impact on our team's success. I expect our defense to be much better than last year because of the experience we have returning. I think CC will be VERY GOOD, and AC will be VERY GOOD, and Central will be VERY FAST, and Powell will be POWELL.

The kicker was a sophomore last year so he's got two more. As for the receivers and being 6' or better here's the line up...Brandon Bonds 6'1", Ted Mitchell 6'1", J. Johnson 6', Tee Higgins 6'2", J. Hall 6'1" and  Malik Hardy 5'9" (Sorry this is the shortest one..But Very Fast Might compete with West RB).

You say Central will be very fast, I didn't really see that last year at their place. Has something changed ?

  9. Hey Cats... All in good fun. I personally believe that the Cats are faster than everyone is giving or not giving them credit for. I think the receiving core is probably one of the best around. Not too many schools around with (6) WR that are all over 6' tall and move very good with good hands. I think you'll really see the difference this year.

No our running backs are not going to run 4.35 40's like the RB from West did last weekend at the Atlanta Nike Sparq but they are not slow either and they see the field very well. I think you could easily see (2) of them with a 1000 yds this year.

As for the punter, Hunter was a senior last year so he's gone but the back up who was also the field goal kicker will do a great job taking over the duties.

The O line will have to be revamped but that won't be a problem at all. Chapman, Flemming, Hale and Verner for sure with several others that will make a big push for starting positions.

Fadnek should be the front runner for QB and Dunbar working in as the wildcat. The offense WILL be Explosive this year.

The Defense this year will be strong and a lot more experienced. Strong LB core with Warrington, Warmbroad, Manookian, Chitwood, and Clark.

Sorry Cats...But I really don't care about the rest of the district unless we're kicking their butt on Friday night. Let someone else chime in on that. RCR !!!

  10. How does the district look for nest season? Who has the most returning starters? Who has the most speed? Who has the best running back? Who has the best QB? Who will have the strongest lines? Who has the strongest kicking game?

Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge...RCR !!!

  11. That is great!! What's the rules on them participating. Is it like AAU sports in a way.  I see it is becoming very popular and now a big part in college recruiting.

GIJoe, It's all legal...It is just like AAU. The 7v7 games and training all go on during off season work outs and the National Championship 7v7 games in Bradenton Fla take place in June. This is a huge recruiting tool that football now has just like AAU basketball and summer travel baseball. Also this helps the guys participating elevate their game by competing against the best in the nation.

There is going to be an IMG 7v7 National Qualifier in Knoxville on March 29th. Not exactly sure of the times just yet but the event will go on most of the day. Come out and watch if you get time as it will be a chance to see some of the 2014 Wildcats compete that are playing with the Next Level Training Academy.

  12. Hey Wildcat Fans...I think you'll be interested to know that there are several Wildcats that are working hard other than just hitting the weights at school. Fadnek, Warrington and Warmbroad among several others have been participating in speed and agilities training at The Next Level Training Academy.  I have also seen those three the past several weeks participating with The Next level 7v7 passing league team that will compete all over the southeastern part of the country to try and qualify for the National Championship 7v7 tournament at the IMG Football Academy in Bradenton Florida. All looked much improved over last season with increased speed and football skills.

  13. The Wildcat O-Line will be fine with Chapman, Kasner, Flemming, and Verner. Give them a little time working together this spring and summer and they won't miss a beat. Jones, Rowe and Allison in the backfield will be a stable of RB's that will be very hard to stop. Keep them rotating in and fresh and the pounding will never stop. Fadnek will be the QB coming out of Spring. After a season in the system and a big off season of training you'll have no doubt about Fadnek leading the Wildcats for the next two years. With receivers like Bonds, Higgins, Mitchell to catch the football down field the Wildcats offense will be explosive this season when you put it all together. The defense worries me a little after losing guys like Boston and Alvarez  but I believe Coach Minor will have the D flying to the ball come August.
